Ice is nothing compared to the horrors of trying to walk through a major mayfly slick. Plus if you fall, you get covered in crushed-bug ook. "High alert" may work for France, but I stay home.

Does this mean it's time to fish for trout?

But this is July. Should they be called Julyflies?

time to fish!!!! in Ol Oregon, we have the stone fly hatch, and the big ol bugs come up out of the water and fly a bit, and the giant rainbow trout go insane!
pretty much any lure that remotely looks like a Stone will catch you a trophy. Kinda like tRump and his wig/platinum card/limo....

That bridge is a bit unnerving in the best of conditions. We have a boat at the marina in Sabula. The marina was hosting a party that was scheduled that same evening. If we had attended (as we had originally planned to do), we would have tried to take the bridge on our way home. I don't feel so bad now about not being able to make it to the party.
Funny man: I could never figure out why they call them mayflies, either. In most years it seems that we usually experience the worst mayfly outbreak around the third week in June. I was surprised to read that this happened in July.
