My main objection to the liberalization of gun laws has never been to the free access to deadly weapons.
It's to the number of really dumb people who insist on carrying. People have pulled guns on me so many times that I have a hard time remembering them all. No one actually shot because it turned out that the disagreement could be settled by talking. Why didn't they try that the first time?
And it wasn't personal (most of the time). I just worked for the government.
And I got out alive. Yea!
