'...ATHLETES HELPED MARCH THE BUN DOWN A MAIN THOROUGHFARE, MAKING A WIDE TURN INTO A PARKING LOT...'

Residents in the southwest Illinois city of Belleville celebrated its 200th birthday with a 200-foot bratwurst, complete with a 200-foot bun.

That's a lot of carbs and fat.

I lived in Belleville for 3 years when I was a kid. During the winter it was absolutely the coldest place on earth.

We're gonna need a lot more mustard.

Next up: the 18-wheel Wienermobile.

The article tells how the bratwurst was cooked and the bun was brought in, but there isn't any mention of anybody actually eating it??!

Lindenwood University and Southwestern Illinois College athletes helped march the bun down a main thoroughfare, making a wide turn in a parking lot to finish the delivery.

I'm thinking of the guy who shoved aside the drum major and led the marching band down a blind alley in "Animal House." We needed him for this.

When I think of bratwurst, I think of Bellville, IL, right Pad?

Analyze that, Dr. Freud !

I know a few brats I'd have donated.

Fortunately, the World's Largest Ketchup Bottle is only about 9 miles away.

Oooh, the one hundred one and eightieth (181th) Oktoberfest.

It's not the wurst that could happen.

An ILLINOIS bratwurst? Doesn't count.
