I don't care about "ugly" because ugly can be beautiful when we take our blinders off.
But what justifies breeding dogs that can't breathe well, can't mate under their own power, can't see (if I can infer this from some of those photos)?
Does our love merit bringing a living being into a life-long misery?

With you a gazillion times over on this one Steve. As long as folks are plunking down big bucks to breeders for 'designer dogs' the problem will never go away. Rescue a mutt, folks. Ours is currently hiding 'cause we've just been camping and she has ticks, and I'm armed with the latest in tick-removal doo-dads.
