MEMORIAL DAY

Enjoy today. But please remember why it's called Memorial Day.

Thank you for posting this. I come from a very long line of veterans starting with the Revolutionary War. Our family motto is, "Wanna Fight?" I grew up in the military and always went to school on base. I remember several times when a crying mother and the principal would come to the classroom door and call a child out. They never returned. I found out later most of their fathers had been killed in duty and that was why they disappeared. I think about them, and their parents, a lot on days like this. I feel so blessed I never got called out of the room. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day.

And if the schools actually taught history anymore...

Thank you. Without them we could not be speaking/writing to each other today.
