I once found a rat tail in a candy bar, similar story (Except I was 21, not in my 90's!). But the bad news? I bought it from a vending machine at the conclusion of a search and rescue training class, where we had been lectured for the past 6 hours how to find and improvise emergency food sources.
Rat tartare, however, was not one of the topics covered.
