Churches have those nice lightning rods called steeples on top. Might be the safest place he could be.

I tend to disagree with the conclusion that he drew from this that God had protected him. I personally think that this was God's not so subtle way of telling him that most people hate/are scared of clowns and to maybe consider a change of profession. I would not recommend putting electric company lineman at the top of the list.
