A group of protesters got loud and snotty Friday over the just-opened punk-themed fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for not being punk enough.

"'Designed for a housewife who might want to look pretty and put on some fishnets.'"

The difference being, of course, that the housewife might actually have a life.

The punk "movement" always made me laugh, even when I was one. You can't be a non-conformist unless you dress just like us! LOL

Any self-respecting punk would not go near a museum exhibit on punk, nor should you care if they get it right or not. What could be more establishment than a museum!! Go home protesters, you're drunk.

That's beastly, boys.

New York Magazine -- or was the Times? -- had a big article on punk last week. The thesis seemed to be that you couldn't define punk, couldn't reduce it to a sound bite ... You get the picture. My opinion: yes, you can. Old punk, new punks, real punk, wanna-be punk, punksploitation like this museum exhibit; it can all be described in one word: pathetic.

When I see "punk" I think, "Really?"
