WHY IS THIS NOT A WINTER OLYMPICS EVENT?

Los Angeles-based musician Sean Pawling played "Ride of the Valkyries" while downhill skiing in Lake Tahoe recently.

Did Wagner ever write anything called " I Can't Seem to Get the Hang of the Bunny Hill " ?

"Were gonna play music?"

Meh. We used to do this on sleds all the time. Granted the brass instruments were imaginary, but hey, can any of you "doot de de doooooot dooo" while simultaneously chicken fighting on Flexible Flyers? I thought not.

I can see several ways this could go downhill (heh!) fast.
None of which can make me care about someone who would do this.

Mark Twain said that "Wagner's music is better than it sounds." This would be one example.

As the mother of a trombone player, this totally makes sense.

Or, as Barbara Tuchman said about Strauss' Symphonia Domestica, "If this is German homelife, German history becomes understandable."
