Now, now, look at the advantages.
I bet the Catholics would really see a difference if you could place a bet in the confessional while you're at it.

Now that explains why Putin had Pussy Riot arrested some time back...

...competition!

"Life News, a popular muckraking website with close ties to the police and security services ..."

I find this description a little hard to parse. If they have ties to the state's instruments of coercion, what are they muckraking? If they blew a story about Putin's spiritual adviser being a pimp, does that imply they did so with the approval of the authorities? "... a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma ..."

So there is no disputin' the abbot is Putin's?

Spiritually Advised wbagnfa ... um ... politician?

When they go into the brothel, they're Russian.
When they come out they're Finnish

Could be the Lapp dancers had sumthin' to do with that, eh, poker?

The church, meanwhile, claims it is the victim of a smear campaign.

And for only 50 rubles more! Bring your own jar of your preferred smear.

"Our prayers have been answered."

Might want to break out the handbasket ...
