I'm no biologist, but I'd say that's a jellyfish.

More high-quality "journalism" outta CA ...

"This type of jellyfish is usually found in the south Atlantic Ocean, some 5,000 feet below."

Below whut?

Zero? Wholesale? Cost? Our noses? Beneath our dignity? Middle "C"? Suspicion? Reproach? Civilization?

"Sloppy, careless and stupid is no way to go through a journalism career ..." (to paraphrase Dean Wormer) ...

Steven Haddock, a scientist for the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute...

Yeah, poker ... they quoted him in another story Dave linked a few days ago ... I think it's cool to find those dealies where a person's name fits their job/hobby ... um ... there's a werd fer it, and as usual, I'm sittin' here playin' with my mental blocks ...

I had to look it up. It's called an aptronym.

My theory is it's Al Gore taking a dip in order to raise the sea level.

Dang ... I actually GNU that werd!

Now ... where'd I put those mental blocks?

O-the-U: I saw your mental blocks being used as chucks under the Geezer Bus.

mudstuffin put them there.

MOTW ... OK ... now where'd I leave the keys fer the bus?

And who's this mudstuffin' person I keep hearin' about?

Wow, what does something like that eat?

Anything it wants to.

WAIT....I think I recognize that spineless blob. He's a local politician!!!

A whale's condom.

What fish have you got that isn't jugged?
What, rabbit fish?
Is it dead?
Well, it was coughin' up blood last night.
All right. I'll have the dead, unjugged rabbit fish. ... Apalling.
Moan, moan, moan.

mudstuffin is a knight of kolumbus
