A new footwear company is customising the skin of living stingrays to make $1,800 bespoke sneakers.

Do they still have the poisonous stingray barbs sticking out of the heels? 'Cos that would be cool.

this is taking the idea of custom made shoes to absurd heights.

Do they come in red?

No bespoke willy-warmers too? :(

Ethically, what's the difference between raising a multicolored stingray to slaughter it and make it into shoes and a normal one?

I'm pretty sure they had padraig's suggestion back in the 60s. Didn't a nasty old woman (who was younger than I am now) try to kick James Bond in From Russia With Love?

No dolphins were harmed.

Update: 12 pairs of these shoes were just delivered to the Kardashian compound. With stingers.
