A couple of years ago, I became alarmed at finding a fine "sand" below a wooden table. I cleaned it off several times and it came back.
An Internet search told me these were a type of "furniture termite" that did not require soil to live in. They could live comfortably inside the wood.
I threw the table away and haven't had any more problem.
Maybe I should check the family fortune?
Nope, both dollars are still there.

Steve thank goodness your family fortune is still safe. This is exactly why mine is in gold. My family fortune is also still secure. Including the attractive display box.

Wooden nickles are not safe anywhere.

Ah, Cindy, the Franklin Mint. What would our country be without it?
