I can honestly say I've never been stumped looking for a name for undies. I like CJ's suggestion. They live down under and they have kangaroos so why not? Of course they may not like wearing undies with little cartoon characters all over them.

"Budgie smugglers" is what they call men's Speedo bathing suits here (even on the news!). Of all the Australian slang terms I've heard since I moved here, it's my favorite, closely followed by "hoon" (the term used for low-rider juvenile delinquents).
