Beer as a deterrent to burglary....usually it's the other way around.

Nope, nothing. Yay!

They may have had a shotgun but he had a silver bullet.

Lt. Todd Umstead = Tot sudded malt.

Apparently the total was 1 -- Cheap!

Must have been Coors Lite. I would have run away from it too.

How bad a robber do you have to be, to be chased off by a 72 yr old geezer slingin' suds?

Clearly, the robbers were not skeet shooters
AND, I agree with Layzeeboy!

They had a shotgun and a beer. They couldn't put two and two together and shotgun the beer?

He threatened to Schlitz all over them, so they ran.

Bah! Teetotalers! Robbers who belong to the WCTU.

From the headline, I thought maybe the story was gonna be the one linked from my name below.

Police said a 72-year-old pizza shop employee foiled a shotgun-point robbery

Shotguns have points?

Maybe they saw the beer was Colt 45

After reading this I realized that if I were 72 years old, working in a pizza place, and some punks came in to rob me, I probably could have taken them with my bare hands. They are probably lucky that all he did was throw a beer at them.

Beer. The cause of and solution to all of life's problems.

saltytrey,
Can I amend that to Beer as the cause and duct tape as the solution?

or is that only in Ohio?

That's not how you're supposed to play 'shotgun'!
