Maybe they should get up and walk around more.

.... benefit the goals and purpose of the Wyoming Toad recovery program and the University, including, but not limited to: Wyoming Toad related research, teaching, and opportunities to assist on the ground recovery efforts.

It's about time someone started teaching Wyoming Toads, and recovering the ground.

"Toad Recovery" WBAGNFARB

I wonder if Wyo has anything to do with this. Things are pretty exciting there.

I'd give them some money if they promised I wouldn't have to read all of that.

Not nearly as bad as the LosAngeles Zoo. They built a $7.5 million habitat for golden monkeys that they will not be receiving. At that price the damned primates better be made out of actual gold.

What's the problem ? The Chinese are more than happy to loan us the money.

Maybe the toads are alcoholics and need a twelve hop program. (Sorry.)

crossgirl, don't look!

*blood rushes out of head*

Did any one besides me read that as "Road" Recovery and wonder what was so odd about it?

Didn't the Recovering Wyoming Toads open for Willie Nelson in '93?

It was '83 and Kenny Rogers, but you're close! :P

I'd rather see my money spent on toads than on congresspeople.

This is a heck of a lot better than most things government spends my money on. I'd rather partially fix historic damage to an irreplaceable ecosystem than spend money locking up people because some nanny-state idiot disapproves of their sex life, recreation, or self-medication.

So hoorah for the toads!

Actually, this isn't a joke. Toads and frogs are disappearing at an alarming rate, maybe 30% of the world population. Which is a serious problem for two reasons. One, the species' loss indicates issues with the environment. Two, toads and frogs eat a LOT of insects. Without them we might end up with more harmful insects that eat our food supply, and those that carry disease, like mosquitoes and flies.

It would be funny, if it weren't for that. I'm thinking 100 grand is pretty paltry, myself.

Wart are these toadys thinking?
