Well that really let the air out of things.

They need coupons to take a Wizz in Hungary?
National prostate problem?
Posted by: NotSherly | June 28, 2009 at 10:26 AM
You're better off sticking with Poop Air.
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | June 28, 2009 at 10:32 AM
Wizz Air?? Too much carbonation in their beverages?
Posted by: NotSherly | June 28, 2009 at 10:44 AM
10,000 forints?
Wasn't that the unsuccessful followup to "99 Luftballons"?
Posted by: Jeff Meyerson | June 28, 2009 at 11:03 AM
That's exactly the story, Jeff.
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | June 28, 2009 at 11:07 AM
Budapest's stimulus package gone bust???

"Wizz Air?" Lends new meaning to the old expression "Gardyloo!..."
Posted by: Wes S. | June 28, 2009 at 11:48 AM
So, were the executives of Wizz Air pissed?
Posted by: Horace LaBadie | June 28, 2009 at 12:18 PM

Why am I not saddened?
Posted by: Snarky Comment | June 28, 2009 at 02:03 PM
They're dropping like flies, it seems. Did this all start with the debut of Killer Summer?
Posted by: NotSherly | June 28, 2009 at 02:06 PM
NC, was he the "Oxy-clean" guy?
Posted by: frodolives | June 28, 2009 at 02:11 PM
He was the Oxy-clean guy. Snarky Comment, it's always sad for the family to lose someone unexpectedly like that. I feel sorry for them. He was only 50.
Posted by: nursecindy | June 28, 2009 at 02:15 PM
That was a shocker, cindy, and I'm sorry for the family
even though I found his infomercials annoying in the extreme.Sounds like he had a rough landing in Tampa yesterday when a tire blew out, wasn't wearing his seat bely and hit his head, then seemed OK.
Sounds like Natasha Richardson all over again.
Head injuries need to be checked, right, cindy?
Posted by: Jeff Meyerson | June 28, 2009 at 02:57 PM
WOwsa...they're dropping like flies. So sad too.
Posted by: Siouxie | June 28, 2009 at 03:08 PM
Wow, only 50... my condolences to family and friends... and to those on the blog that aren't "close" to that age, you will be tomorrow (or, at least, it will seem like it).
Jeff, head injuries have nothing to do with this topic, and I would appreciate if you would avoid talking about something you obviously know nothing about...
Posted by: frodolives | June 28, 2009 at 03:45 PM
frodo - head injury, although speculative at this point, is mentioned in several news articles I have seen about Mays' death. It's not related to the blog topic, but that was already diverted.
Besides, Jeff knows a lot about hard heads.
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | June 28, 2009 at 04:00 PM
Yeah, Meanie, I jumped a bit, because of my Master's degree in Rehab, and 6 years experience working with people with brain injuries, so, mea culpa to Jeff if I came across too condescending...
(And Mean, I do NOT want to know what YOU know, or WHY you know, about Jeff and "Hard Heads"... It'cher biz.... and NTTAWWT...)
Posted by: frodolives | June 28, 2009 at 04:13 PM
Layzee told me.
Not coincidentally, yesterday was his birthday.
Happy Birthday + 1, LZB!
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | June 28, 2009 at 04:25 PM
ROFL!!! Happy day to Layz...!!!!
Posted by: frodolives | June 28, 2009 at 04:35 PM
ease on down, ease on down the runway...
Posted by: insomniac | June 28, 2009 at 04:37 PM
Will they be serving Cheez-Whiz? And how much wizz is in that stuff anyway?
Posted by: Pinball Wizzard | June 28, 2009 at 05:41 PM
Happy Birthday Layzeeboy!
Posted by: NotSherly, post dated June 27th | June 28, 2009 at 05:48 PM
That's one reason I was so sad yesterday that there was no blog. I couldn't wish Layzeeboy a Happy Birthday.
Jeff, you are right. I think ANY head injury should be checked. A lot of people think if they're not knocked unconscious they will be okay which is not true. Also if someone has had a head injury they should continue to look for symptoms for at least 10 days after the injury. Sometimes it takes a hematoma a while to actually show up. Also I've read that Parkinson's Disease can actually occur later in life due to a head injury.
Kids take small bumps better than adults but should still wear helmets. A friend of my Dad's died years ago after falling off a bike and hitting his head on a curb. He died about 2 days later from this. I'm a big believer in helmets.

I Air Wizz in your general direction.
Posted by: CJrun | June 28, 2009 at 06:09 PM
One more thing and I shouldn't say this but: frodolives, you didn't come off sounding condescending. You came off sounding like an a$$ and I'm not sure what set you off. I don't want to know either.
Posted by: nursecindy | June 28, 2009 at 06:10 PM
I agree, cindy. I thought at first frodo was joking and couldn't figure out what made him lash out at Jeff like that. It's not like you, frodo.
Tsk, tsk - I may have to bring out my machete for this one. I don't believe Jeff was saying it WAS the case but it may be, based on speculation so far. ASS they say...opinions are just like @ssholes - everyone's got one.
OH and and since when do we stick to the topic of the post??? hellllooooooooooooo??
Posted by: Siouxie | June 28, 2009 at 06:31 PM
Thanks Siouxie. btw, you will appreciate this. My Dad is going through some of his stuff and getting rid of a lot of it. He gave me 2 sabers he got in China years ago. I'm thinking about putting them over the sofa but it might scare guests off.
I'm just so happy the blog is back today! I was lost yesterday. Dave should let us know he and judi are okay when they don't have a blog. That way if something has happened we can all chip in and bail judi out.
Posted by: nursecindy | June 28, 2009 at 06:39 PM
Cool! I would put them up...too late to scare off my daughters' boyfriends ;-)
I was kinda busy yesterday but did notice the lack of postings. Judi has been laying low lately I guess?? Resting? Sobering up? I was out late last night and paying the price for it today. UGH.
Anywho..enjoy your day and a belated Happy Bday to Layzee!!!

Thanks, cindy and others. I was just reporting what I'd read, not offering any opinion or "expertise" (which I don't have) and don't understand the venomous attack.
Let's just move on, nothing to see here.
Posted by: Jeff Meyerson | June 28, 2009 at 08:20 PM
From all indications, Billy Mays was a good and decent guy. Many stories of his kindness and benevolence. You are right nursecindy, it is sad for the family.
Posted by: Jazzzz | June 28, 2009 at 09:25 PM
I will go Oxyclean something in his memory.

Happy Birthday LB!!!!!!! Woah, do we need a group hug here?? Look what happens when
Judi gets drunk...celebrities die... the blog misses a day! We all love each other right? *passes everyone a Margarita*Posted by: Tash | June 28, 2009 at 10:51 PM
I'll do the group hug Tash if I get to stand between Meanie and Jeff.
Posted by: nursecindy | June 28, 2009 at 11:02 PM
Here's your hug ... ((((Group)))) ... although I feel like I'm Lisping now. But that's because I'm an incorrigible geek. (Wiggles eyebrows and says, "I'll take all the incorrigement I can get.")
Back to the tropic at hand, will they serve Whizzo Butter in flight? I understand it's absolutely indistinguishable from a dead crab.

((((((group grope)))))))))
nite nite

Why, oh why, did Mr Mays work for a competitor of Shout?
He happened to be on the top half of the TV Guide channel a few weeks ago; when he wasn't trying to sell something, he had a normal voice (volume).
And now Gale Storm has joined Ed McMahon in the necrology of the week....
Posted by: oneblankspace | June 29, 2009 at 01:10 AM
Wow, Jeff! Look over there! ------------>
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | June 29, 2009 at 06:08 AM
Good morning, all. I'm off to jury duty again. This time I'll try and keep calmer and hope for a quicker resolution - or at least an earlier lunch!
Thanks again, friends.
;)

I missed the Gale Storm item. As a total geezer, I remember My Little Margie.
RIP

Has anybody noticed the correlation between being mentioned derisively in this blog and sudden death? Could someone try an experiment and write something snarky about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong-Il?
Posted by: Horace LaBadie | June 29, 2009 at 07:31 AM
Early to rise
After early to bed
Made me miss
A group hug on this thread.
Posted by: NotSherly | June 29, 2009 at 07:59 AM
is there a blog curse?
mahmoud ahmadinejad
will find out shortly!
Posted by: insomniac | June 29, 2009 at 08:02 AM
Thank you, Insom.
Posted by: Horace LaBadie | June 29, 2009 at 08:22 AM
we're off to fly wizz air, the wonderful airline of budapest, because, because, because, because, because.....because of the wonderful coupons of course. yeah. i suck.
Posted by: crossgirl | June 29, 2009 at 09:05 AM
crossgirl that was excellent! I hate that about Gale Storm although to be honest I thought she was already gone. I wonder if she ever flew Wiz Air? (a small attempt to tie it into the topic) Horace I thought about that yesterday. Lets try it with Kim Jong-Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, or as I call him, I'madinnerjacket. It's easier to say. My Dad's favorite joke is Kim Jong-Il has a son named Men tally-Il. I believe it. And I'm sure they've all either flown Wiz Air or wanted to.
Posted by: nursecindy | June 29, 2009 at 09:17 AM
Kim Jong Il ----> No Milk Jig
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ------> Idaho jam mudhead man
(just covering all possible curese bases)
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | June 29, 2009 at 10:02 AM
*ahem*
Violets are blue
Roses are red
I wish Kim & Ahmad
Would wind up dead
Thank you...thankyouverymuch.
Posted by: Siouxie | June 29, 2009 at 10:58 AM
Noooo. Not Gale Storm!! She was the subject (or perhaps object) of my very first ahem, how to say this, well, no other way comes to mind--erection.
