Why is the adult stuff always so juvenile? Just wonderin', is all, didn't mean anything by it . . .

Hey, Larry--BOHICA! (Larry annoys me, but I'll still watch Megan Fox...)

Another headline could be, "Porn Kings Seek Money Shot for Flaccid Balance Sheets"

It's a problem because they have limp sales in these hard times!

Talk about getting laid off....

If the adult industry hits the skids, where will adults go to get that high quality XXX entertainment? The internet? Nothing lascivious there that I've found.

Well, Wall St. and the auto industry have been jerking us
offaround for years, so, as Dave says, why the hell not?Posted by: Meanie the Blue | January 07, 2009 at 03:56 PM
Yet another headline possibility: Porn Industry Hard Up for Money!
Posted by: Magnum P.I.'s moustache | January 07, 2009 at 04:02 PM
We're gonna get screwed, not matter what, eh?
Posted by: Siouxie | January 07, 2009 at 04:02 PM
I don't think this would be money well spent. This would be money shot.
Posted by: Danny | January 07, 2009 at 04:03 PM
You have to figure out what you want to support with your money.A car takes you to work.A porn film takes you on an instructional tour of the fun things.

Perhaps for guidance they should call that rectal examiner.
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | January 07, 2009 at 04:11 PM
This is a form of fiscal Viagra for the porn industry!

Washington has been sponsoring spending orgies for decades...Porn industry just wants to get some action too!

Ok what is the punch line?
We're waiting...

I just checked the Internets and there's still PLENTY of porn left on them! What are these guys trying to pull?
Posted by: padraig | January 07, 2009 at 04:39 PM
No f*@#ing way!
Posted by: Davec | January 07, 2009 at 04:40 PM
So will they still work hard for the money?
Posted by: Joshua | January 07, 2009 at 04:55 PM
I'm opposed to giving them a bailout. They'd just blow it.
Posted by: Ford79 | January 07, 2009 at 04:58 PM
Why ask for only $5 billion? Why not....oh....say.....$69 billion?
Posted by: Braniff | January 07, 2009 at 05:07 PM
It's not hard out here for a porn star. And that's a bad thing.
Posted by: Porno Guy | January 07, 2009 at 05:39 PM
What a come on!
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | January 07, 2009 at 06:55 PM
Fluff journalism, if you ask me.

Hey, baby, I got yer stimulus package right here.
Posted by: SW | January 07, 2009 at 11:35 PM
I can see the X-rated trailers now: Coming Soon: "Senators Gone Wild!" "Congress-sluts for Cash!"...
Or maybe "At least we'll kiss you first, A Flynt/Pelosi Production..."
Quite apart from all the other reasons why this is a bad idea - starting with the fact that there's apparently no end to the industries wanting the taxpayers to bail them out of their own, er, screwups - is this:
Remember when the .gov took over the Mustang Ranch and couldn't make a go of it? What makes you think a government bailout of Vivid Video or the Hustler empire would be any different?
Posted by: Wes S. | January 08, 2009 at 12:27 AM
Wes - Mr Francis isn't exactly a taxpayer. He has a March trial date here in LA for tax-evasion.
He is also one of the few people in the world I would, without thinking twice about it, sucker-punch.
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | January 08, 2009 at 03:18 PM
*scratch scratch*
Uh, Annie: In my post I was referring to Mr. Francis as being part of the latest industry trying to, er, hose the taxpayer, not a taxpayer himself. So I'm not sure where you're going with your response...
Can't say I'm suprised at Francis' tax evasion charges, either. Which means he's basically double-dipping at the public trough with his plea for bailout money, doesn't it?
