MonthsYearsDecades ago, when I was a kid, the family was on vacation. The terlit in my hotel room wasn't working well so I took the lid off the tank and found a 6 pack of beer someone had put there to keep cool and then forgotten. My folks were pleased.Posted by: fivver | December 08, 2008 at 09:35 AM
So, would the toilet have to use itself?

What a resourceful boy! I've been looking everywhere for a way to spend money to make my toilets even less efficient than they are now.

I applaud him for his work, but this is kind of old news. You can use just about anything in the toilet tank that will displace water. I used to use a brick.

Braniff, you didn't s**t that brick, did you?
I apologize. That was juvenile and low-brow. I blame the locker room pic.
And I'm only on my second post of the day.

Admirable as this lad is, every time he gets an award for his work for the environment he gets on a plane to Washington. He would have to save a helluva lot of water to compensate for that carbon footprint....

No, but my bladder has a toilet.

Cat R: I almost made a notation in my post that it was an actual brick. From outdoors. Then I figured I'd wait to see if anyone would make a reference to the other type of brick. You've restored my faith in bloggers.

Braniff...Congratulations on an act of true selflessness. Once you realize you've provided a set-up, it's SOOOooo hard to leave lying there in the public domain;)

Glad to oblige!

A little sooner next time, if you wouldn't mind.

I used to use a brick, but the toilet paper would get hung up on it and make a mess.
