♫ Baby beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free.
Here come the school kids, now it’s “show and tell”
C’mon, let’s teach them well!
Baby beluga, oh, baby beluga,
You’ve been disemboweled
The whole world cries out, “foul!”
But kids need schooling!
Way down in Tokyo it’s a culture thing
They call it “research”, with their knives flensing
You give ‘em blubber bricks, it’s great protein
Why do Americans call us mean?
Baby beluga, oh, baby beluga,
You’ve been disemboweled
The whole world cries out, “foul!”
But kids need schooling! ♫

My first trip to Europe, 20+ years ago, was on Iceland Air. Had a few hours layover in Iceland, so I took the only quick tour available -- "high" point was a visit to a similar facility. It was good to see Reykjavik and a bit of the countryside, but ... ick.
All my years in Japan I managed to avoid them.

Mikey! I told you to wipe your feet before coming inside! Now I have to mop up all of this blood and blubber! Again!
Posted by: JayP | June 27, 2008 at 10:26 AM
I hope none of the kids blubbered over that.

Richard TWH,
It's relatively easy to avoid Iceland when you are in Japan, or so I'm told.
