I bet most North Carolinians keep them. I know I would.
Posted by: Jeff Meyerson | June 27, 2008 at 10:54 AM
WTF is vulgar about it?
Posted by: Layzeeboy | June 27, 2008 at 10:55 AM
The technology teacher had to be told by her granddaughter what the acronym meant?
I wonder if NTTAWWT would get past the DMV folks.

Um, Grandma?
Yes, Dear?
About your license plate...
Yes, isn't it lovely? So easy to remember, too! "WTF-5505". I always think of it as "water the flowers"!
Um, yeah. That'll work.
Posted by: Cat R | June 27, 2008 at 10:57 AM
R U JK? ROTFLWTIME!
Posted by: MOTW | June 27, 2008 at 10:58 AM
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
Hell, I'd keep mine too. I guess it's too late to get a WTFBBQ plate, huh?
Posted by: Siouxe, wearing an eye patch | June 27, 2008 at 10:58 AM
I don't get it?!
Posted by: North Carolina | June 27, 2008 at 11:01 AM
It's a miracle! She can see once more!
Posted by: Cat R | June 27, 2008 at 11:17 AM
YAY! I got my *i*
Posted by: Siouxie | June 27, 2008 at 11:38 AM
Next thing you know, they'll outlaw the word "snafu".
Posted by: Hammond Rye | June 27, 2008 at 11:48 AM
Wonders what kind of technology they teach in NC. I mean apart from the obvious wonders of "moving pictures" and steam engines.
They didn't tell you that they are replacing the plates with the less-offensive "WTT" (What The Tarnation).
Posted by: JayP | June 27, 2008 at 11:58 AM
WTF LOL!
Posted by: Margaritaville | June 27, 2008 at 12:03 PM
FIRST! it's WTF, then it'll be WVA!
... well, that one might be reasonable to lose...
Posted by: Kibby F5™ | June 27, 2008 at 12:16 PM
I guess North Carolina taxpayers are SOL.
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | June 27, 2008 at 12:19 PM
WVA?
Posted by: Cat R | June 27, 2008 at 01:19 PM
"WTF is vulgar about it?"
It's only vulgar if you already know it's vulgar.
Posted by: pogo | June 27, 2008 at 01:49 PM
George Carlin just passed away, and now someone's decided that the 3-letter sequence "WTF" is somehow offensive? Yes, I know what it stands for, but that's just silly. Pretty soon they won't be able to use BOB, SOL, STFU, MF, SOB, LOL, WBAGNFARB, BM, etc, etc. Pretty soon, all they'll be left with is the letters "Q", "X", and "Z".
Posted by: SpecialNobodie | June 27, 2008 at 02:24 PM
and sometimes "Y"
Posted by: Siouxie | June 27, 2008 at 02:48 PM
Stupid teenagers. They ruined the whole thing! Ten thousand people driving around with WTF on their license plates? Ha!
I would totally keep mine.
Posted by: Suzy Q | June 27, 2008 at 03:08 PM
Will they be replacing them with plates that start with "OMG"?
Posted by: Mr Death | June 27, 2008 at 05:42 PM
Well, I am disappointed.
I was in NC for several hours this afternoon, and I saw not a single WTF plate.

First of all, *SNORKS* Siouxie (btw, duck!, because that beer came out my nose)...
Second of all, "I can't believe it," DMV Commissioner Bill Gore said Monday when told about the online glitch. "Obviously, I didn't know it was there."
I'm guessing, jus' guessin', mind you, that "obviously" is the new euphemism for "ROTFLMFAO" (or even the new euphemism for "WTF")
Posted by: frodolives | June 27, 2008 at 09:08 PM
also, "Commissioner Bill Gore" WnotBAGNFARB...
