That was just...bizarre!

Sit, Ubu. Sit. Good hell.

Well that's two minutes of my life I'll never get back again...weird, and yet really stupid at the same time...

Whoa! I gotta stop smoking eating that bong trout.

On the Kikkoman scale of Japanese weirdness, this is a solid 8.

The Blog has presented a challenge: Is there any posting so weird or inane that it won't generate 100 comments over night?

I'll just sit here with a button strapped to my nose and contemplate that....

That was informative.

Snork @ CJ

Only if it's the last thread.

Number 8

Number 9, Number 9, Number 9 ...

I am a 10.

Quit bragging, Annie !!! ; )
Some of us ain't so lucky !

Does it go to eleven?

Rut Roh. Okay, who wants a scooby snack?

Caveat: prepared via the blog bong.

*Looks around*
*checks mirror*
Must be me, Cheryl !
I've seen Annie's photos - she is way hot !
I'm more the "beautiful inside" type !

It's hard to know what's right any more.

Ooops - my comments weren't meant mean-spiritedly, if that's even a word. Just pointing out that Annie not only got lucky in the number on this thread, but she is way pretty too ! Hope that didn't translate as being evil ! If it did, sorry !

Telecomdropout - it's all good. I'm working on accepting compliments without ripping out livers, so this is good practice for me. :)

And yes, this amp annie goes to 11.

Yes Annie, but will there be film at 11?

That's in Richter.

Veeewy scawey...

*snorklet* @ CJ
jug- that's on a need-to-know basis.

*zips™ in* (smoooches to El)

Annie is a force to be reckoned with...I reckon.

*zips™ out*

*watching American Idull*

Annie...I hate to disagree with you, but in my estimation, you are NOT a 10...you are an 8.

Of course, on my scale, the top mark is a 6....

CJ: 100 comments overnight? Don't insult us. We'll have that before Letterman's East Coast broadcast starts.

Yikes!,...disturbing

Afkat - is that my looney rating? Can I bump to 9 if I say I've played ice hockey? On a pond? On figure skates?

Do you curl?

My hair? Why, yes, I do!
*hairflip*

Whew ! Glad to see I didn't kill the thread OR the blog ! Just got done fighting traffic, changing clothes and starting dinner - had to pick up precriptions on the way home *sigh* even at my young age, it's he!! getting old !
Afkat - you're a silver tongued devil, ain't ya ? Love that !
Hey Annie - we still gotta meet - maybe you can take your kids on a whale watching trip this season - they're seeing lots of Orcas this year ! Meet ya @ Ventura Harbor !

"That's in Richter."

Lol, cj. Bada-bing!

Tele - you don't even have to get on a boat to watch whales anymore. They're washing up on the beach every week. Suddenly beachfront property needs a huge air freshener. It is nasty out there lately.

I know, it's very sad. But NRDC sez that we won a big one - the navy has to stop with the sonar already ! YAY ! Count one for us green types !

I think the sign the dog held up translates to "Betcha can't eat just one...dog."

Yeah green!!, Go Berkley!!,....sigh!

One day, I'll be as weird as that dog. Alas, I seem to be growing more and more normal.

You and Me both.

Thanks, Gadfly Presumtive.

*presumptive*

Berkley ? As in Berkley Breathed ?

I'm not convinced this is a dog, I suspect it is actually a South American
Camelid.

You may have something there, Al.

"Berkley ? As in Berkley Breathed ?"

Sorry, meant Berkely, whatever. I'm sure those whales will stop any AQ divers with bombs approaching the bay.

This has been the day from hell. No sooner did I get up this morning and sit down to check on my fellow bloggers when the cable went out which also disables the phone and internet. Fast forward to 10:20pm CST and I'm finally back online. Then I click on the blog and find out "24" is officially dead until 2009. 02/12/08 just sucked. *sigh*

Aaaaawwwwww, looks like something my dear ole granny would knit me a sweater from; altho I do have my own sweat-er, but that's a whole OTHER story !

Hang in there, Doc - just a couple more days until pitchers and catchers report. To the teams that have them, that is.

What is this site? Is this a closed community?

Well, Gadfly, they'd actually be doing us a favor, blowing up those poor ole whale carcasses, if you don't mind my saying so. They get to be a real nuisance, smell-o-vision wise. It seems we can't come up with an efficient way to dispose of them, and I guess inviting Alaskan natives down for a bbq wouldn't be the most politicaly correct way of dealing with them. And it WOULD pinpoint AQ divers out to us, homeland security-wise, wouldn't it ?

Telecom- this last one they're chopping up and dumping in a landfill. Probably in Sunland. :)

Dear Bonk,
I used to think so, but this is the most welcoming, fun, and "smart(assed) people" blog around !
But be careful: Siouxie, Annie, CJ, Meanie, Meditrina, Blurker, and Doc Rick have the most rapier wits around. When you log off, and find that you hurt in the shower, it means you have paid for all the *snorks* you have partaken. Those rapier wounds hurt the most ! But worth the laughter, I promise !

You know how to hurt a gal, Annie ! Thank God, Sunland is down wind and WAY down hill from us ! Except I work in Burbank ! Which is on a par with Sunland - but the weather is turning cooler by us, so NEENER !!!

Annie, my team has pitchers they're just not very good outside of Roy O. and our new closer who the team has already pissed off in arbitration. Stupid Astros. *still hoping our shortstop can get his visa*

Bonk, welcome aboard. Forgive us if we don't stay on topic very often as most of us are riddled with ADD in addition to everyone firing off the best puns and jokes about the subject in 10 minutes or less. Needless to say we have a lot of very witty people in here. Telecom, thanks for the compliment but your far wittier than I. :)

Checkin' in to see who's here. *spies Bonk in the doorway* Welcome! We're all just Dave Barry addicts. New faces are always welcome. :)

OK, as for the actual topic (we have topics?) of this thread, that animal looked like a cross between a polar bear and a Sleestak, IMO. And that "ear" thing looked like Dr. Mengele's idea of an IUD.

Telecom - Berk Breathed's my all-time favorite comic artist. :-) Nice to know he's not been forgotten!

*sharpens apparently rapier-dull wit* ;-)

Your wit is sharp Diva, it's just past the witching hour out on the right coast. Plus I've been off the interwebs all day and I'm catching up. Apparently McCain is a done deal for the GOP and Obama is on the verge of purging the Clinton family from the race. Although I've learned to never underestimate the Clinton's when push comes to shove.

Aw, thanks, Doc. I saw your post about not posting - I hate when that happens. When you say "done deal," are you talking he's the new "it" girl or he's out of the running? I so have not been following things the last several days.

Sorry, Diva - no slight intended ! There are so many folks I had forgotten: Punkin,(*smooch*) Eleanor, cg, diverdowndoc, suzyq, mot the hoople (*smooch*), could I have forgotten Meanie the utmost blue ?, and so many others - you all are such a HUGE part of my life - indeed, no slight intended at all !
But just so you know - as far as the this particular thread: what is with the plate dance ????

Hear that Sio--you've been promoted. Please check your wit at the door.

(Psst. Also terrible gossip that the thread now has so called "topics".)

Aww, Cheryl - I left you off too ! SORRY !!! I am a bad, bad, bad blogger ! I'll go back back to blurking in the morning. I am actually expected to work in the daytime, and this week, the Princess of Everything Telecom is off on a snowboard adventure, so I actually have time to blog !

**there is a God**

I just went back and looked and it's danged hard to stay on topic when there are 8000 threads posted in one day. Sheesh, did Dave and Judi decide to do some early spring cleaning or something? Sadly, I'm now forced to go back and check out every single story. Good thing I'm a night owl.

Congrats on the free time TC. The wife and I celebrate the once in a blue moon occurrence when all three of the mini-mes are out of the house by going up to our bedroom...and sleeping for 8 straight hours.

Doc - that's how I feel every morning ! I have to *sneak* blog time, in between business, and by the time I catch up, it's afternoon - sometimes late afternoon - West Coast time that I catch up. Then I come home to the step-princess online.
Step-princess=queen of everything except chores and accountability. Where was I when they handed out these crowns ????

Hey Doc !
UNDERSTOOD !
We promote schoolwork here over everything - I will come home from work and start dinner and squeeze in what chores I can, as long as they are doing actual homework. Meaning: books open, papers out, schoolwork on screen, and no TV. Music is acceptable (remember?), but otherwise, brains engaged. We are fortunate in that respect, as we live in blue ribbon school territory, which means most households are like us. But I have to admit, I miss the screen time I used to have when the kids were younger and didn't depend on the internet as much, or, as now, pretended to, while checking myspace and facebook on different screens. Ah well, we have to have our controls in place somehow, and this is how we do it here. Not that we're spying, but keeping an eye on things.

I feel your pain Telecom. My step-son promised me he would do all of his chores and never ask for anything for the next 2 years if we got him an XBOX-360 for Christmas. How long do you think it took before he broke that promise? I kept a watch on it knowing better...1 hour, 36 minutes. Kids... *sigh*

WOW. A whole HOUR ???? I was told by the step-princess when she moved in last August, that she was accustomed to a $20 allowance every week for services rendered. I have dutifully paid $20 every OTHER week, when get paid, for essentially nothing. When called upon to do said chores, which are really just a part of being in a family, I was told that she never ever in her whole life EVER had to do such things as a load of laundry, or dust the living room and den. This is what her mother and stepmonster paid others to do. And since I got paid every other week, then I needed to talk to my boss about getting paid weekly. Spoiled much ???

OOps - I need a sweep ASAP ! Sorry ! I was trying to do a "bold" and ended up with italics instead ! Any bloglits left awake ????

Ok, your step-child tops mine in overall spoiledness TC. At least Louis does a good job of playing with his little brother and walks the dog without being asked. Of course the dog walking is because he uses her to flirt with the teenage girls who live down at the corner, but it's something.

*SWEEP!!!*

Thanks, Diva - but I think I might have countermanded your sweep, inadvertantly !

sweep.

See?? I are a moron !!

DAMNIT! *drink*

LOL - no problem. I got yer back.

Apparently I got a simul on yer back. Wait - that didn't come out right....

BTW, Telecom - your little step-princess should be called the step-monster IMO. Sheesh. Girl's got herself a RUDE awakening when she gets to college and mommy's maids aren't there to wipe her nose. (I was gonna say something else, but it wasn't very ladylike.) ;-)

Thanks for cleaning up my mess - obviously, I need to get working on my html !
As I tell Mr. Telecom, we are all works in progress. But what he is NOT doing, is preparing the princess for the inevitable big giant face plant. We all have been there, in some degree or another - some of us much more prepared than others - but when the time comes, how we handle the faceplant depends on how we are raised. When I made an utter and complete a$$ of myself in a country far and away from where I was raised (I got a scholarship to a college waaaaay away from my upbringing) I at least had the wherewithall to recognize my folly (thanks, siblings) to admit I was being a total idiot and won acceptance because of it. I dare this child to duplicate this and pray to all that is holy that she can weather the storm !

Must have felt strongly about this, to post twice ! Sorry ...

Amen to that, Sister. Daddies are notoriously protective of their little princesses and sometimes thoroughly blind to what's in their best interests. I hope you can teach him before it's too late. My dad was way too indulgent in some ways with me and it did NOT stand me in good stead.

on that note, i bid you adieu. i'm pooped. :) night!

Telecomdropout, your smooch has just made my day.

Night night - see ya tomorrow at afternoon's light ~ at least in my case!
West coast nighters ...

Oh Mot, I so rarely get to "see" you !! I ADORE you and your happy bon mots !! I'll stay awake just to hang with you a little longer !!

Isn't it strange, how people's personalities come through, and you just *know* that they are a part of who you are ? That's how I feel about you and so many other blogsters here !

I must go now ~ life happens. Love to you all ...

I've been very busy lately and have not blogged as much as normal, I've also curtailed commenting on every topic when Dave's in one of he's rapid fire moods. I think I've decided that quality beats quantity and don't comment merely for comment's sake.

Well, Mot, I am not a frequent blogger by far, but I will tell you this: You have made me *snork* and *LOL* and *bleah* more times than I can count ~ the best thing is, I recognize your brain has a direct connection to mine and you know what ? I will love you ALWAYS for that and if you are ever in the close proximity to La Crescenta, you have a home !

I've been in your neck of the woods twice, unfortunately in my pre Dave Barry life, it would've been great to meet up with you. Maybe next time I'm in La La land. I just dread having to pass through LAX again though.

Take some EX-LAX. It makes the passing through go easier.

SW, then we'd be very afraid to laugh! A *snork* would damage both our screens and our... nevermind.

Good morning!! wakey wakey!

(note to Telecom - thanks for the lovely words but I'm still a "work in progress" as far as the wit. I'm learning every day from all these other brilliantly funny bloglits.) *smoooch*

oh and *SMACK* your step-princess-brat!!!

Cheryl?? TOPICS???? and we have to stay on 'em?? THE HORROR!

The Blog has presented a challenge: Is there any posting so weird or inane that it won't generate 100 comments over night?

Posted by: CJrun | 06:26 PM on February 12, 2008

Now at ~9:00 AM BST, we're only at 94 (plus this one), so the answer is yes. Was this topic too weird or too inane?

#96

I'm not here just to make up the numbers.
