HAVE JOY

I'm taking off to spend Christmas week at a Secret Undisclosed Location that might not have the Internet, which as you know requires a series of tubes. Judi is also out o' town, so for a while there may be sporadic posting here, or even no posting. But before I go, I want to wish you all happy holidays, on behalf of our entire staff.

what is this snow of which you speak?

last pan of cookies in the oven! batter isn't stiff enough cause it's hot as hell. no butter flowers or christmas trees, but butter blogs are just as good!

Note to self: preview before posting.

*Fedex's snow to everyone who wants some*

Thanks baligurl.

Bali - I am in KC; but OK came to me, in the form of my Mom, Dad, and a truckload of firewood for my newly repaired fireplace.

No snow though. Oh well, plenty of box wine instead.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!!

It is HOT and SUNNY here in Miyami and although I don't want any snow...I'd appreciate a little cool front so I can wear my new red sweater.

Zoodle, sorry to hear about your mom. I lost mine this year...the day after Thanksgiving and this will be a rough one for me...but I have my girls, my family and my friends to help me through. Enjoy every moment. I did.

Wyo - lovely picture and scrawny tree...but very festive. Reminds me of Charlie Brown's tree. ;-)

Scott - great pictures!! I will try to take some tonight or tomorrow and post them as well.

Annie & Punkin - in the spirit of the season, a truce??? kiss and make up huh?? I'm sure the blog boys will love THAT!!! (and some of the blog gals too NTTAWWT).

Med, Ducky, bali, Lisa and crossgirl - having my cuban cafe con leche and thinking of all the goodies ya'll are baking and making!

I think I've just about covered everyone??

OT - Do any of you tell your friends the funny stuff about the blog?

I was talking to my date last night about you guys, and he just didn't get it.

I got a strange look, though.

um...Med?? perhaps not a good idea to bring up crazy virtual people you 'blog' with... on the first date...just sayin'

Thanks, Sioux. Where were you last night?

Hi Siouxie!!! *clinks coffee mugs*

Med-I tell my husband who sometimes laughs and sometimes says: "OMG, did you really say that??!!"

I find the blog is something you have to experience to understand. As you know: once here, forever hooked!

PS Siouxie-Ditto on the sweater.

What the heck are we (us of the warm-weather persuasion) supposed to do with the sweater dress we bought to wear to Christmas Eve service??? Now I have to rethink my whole getup.

Thanks, Lisa. :)

I usually have to wait until my kids go to bed or are extremely distracted to blog. Otherwise, they want to know why I am hysterically giggling. And they need to be older before I explain about gumballs, oosiks, blurk and his shotgun, etc.

But you are right, I am an addict. The blog is my virtual family.

And on that note, wishing everyone a virtually perfect holiday!

Late arriving 'cause I let my shopping go until yesterday.

Happy holidays to Dave, Michelle, Sophie, judi, Walter, the rest of the staff and, of course, my new-found friends the bloglits.

Thanks for a wonderful first year of snorking (for me) and I look forward to the next.

Safe travels to all who are traveling.

CTU Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through CTU,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a CPU.
The presents were set by the computers with care,
In hopes that Jack Bauer soon would be there.

The interns were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of thigh-shots danced in their heads.
And Chloe at her computer, and I at my VAX,
Had just rested our brains from last week's attacks.

When out in the field there arose such a clatter,
I answered the phone to see what was the matter.
I brought up a window, and moused like a flash,
While part of my donut fell into the trash.

The blips on the screen were beginning to show
Lots of activity in the valley down below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a black SUV, kicked in high gear!

With a driver who chased those that would hurt us,
I knew in a moment it must be Curtis!
Chasing bad guys with him was Jack, yelling as they came,
And he shot, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Bye Cummings! Bye, Nina! bye, Salazar and Logan!
No, Navi! No, Dina! No, Henderson or Marwan!
They're all gone now, we've seen them all fall!
We got them! Got them! We got them all!"

As the SUV stops at an airport, they're ready to fly,
They meet with a helicopter, and mount to the sky.
So up to the building-top the copter they flew,
The flight with Curtis, and Jack Bauer too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Audrey came with a bound!

She was dressed all in fur, from her head to her boot,
And if I had a gun, I swear I would shoot.
She was stealing the toys, things she wouldn't give back!
We needed Jack back for a Big Jack Attack!

Her eyes they were crazy, her dimples were hairy!
Her cheeks were like Bozo's, her nose was just scary!
The drool from her mouth had started to flow,
And it was clear she was mad they canceled her show.
The stockings we hung, she held tight in her teeth,
She took all the candy and made a hat of the wreath.
The fur she was wearing was nasty and smelly,
She was bound and determined to get back on the Telly!

Jack finally arrived, and he hid behind a shelf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And charged up his stun-gun, then aimed at that jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his gun,
And jumped out, giving Audrey a stun!

With Audrey subdued, to our team gave a whistle,
And carefully avoided the toe that was mistle,
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he went out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Wild Applause!

Steve you rock!

*bows to the great and powerful Steve*

Siouxie - Annie and I have a love/hate relationship. We love eachother (NTTAWWT) and hate eachother's teams.

Hubby and I are reveling in our alone time today - watching the Pats kick Jacksonville butt! (I hope)

Thanks for the snow, Zoodle, but FedEx hasn't shown up yet. (I hope you kept the receipt)

Talk w/ y'all on tuesday!

Squeak toy update -Jake (our other dog, a scottie) just ended it. You shoulda seen him. He barked, "Ach, for the luva Kris Kringle, put a sock in it lassie or I'll plunk ya with a caber!!!" Then he took the sqeak toy and ripped its head off.

I just started reading the blog today (1:36) and Annie, this killed me. Major snork to you. I've always wanted a Scottie but now not so sure. My Wheatie would never be that aggressive, wimp that she is.

still only halfway thru the posts but just wanted to say "3-0 New England!"

Happy Christmas eve guys. It is actually cold in Hot Springs (53 and raining) so a fire is in the works. Med, firewood is always a good thing to get. By the way, shouldn't a knowledge of Dave and the bloglits be a test for any potential friend? I mean, what else would you talk about? Just sayin'. Seriously, hope all are well and happy. {{{{{bloggers}}}}} (not boogers)

that would be 7 -3 Jax.... nanny nanny boo boo

Still threadin' thru the thread but just wanted to say Wyo, that is the cutest photo. Good luck on the move and hope you'll have a Merry. Er, you know what I mean.

Merry Christmas, ALL!! And kudos to Steve, you should change your blog name to The Awesome Steve!

Merry Christmas, ALL!! And kudos to Steve, you should change your blog name to The Awesome Steve!

Steve, you have outdone yourself! nothing short of amazing!!!

ubetcha, Layzee, Cheryl & Jazzzzie!! Merry Christmas to you all and a happy whateva!!!

Punkin - hope you get that snow you want (hugs).

Don't hold your breath jazzz. it's not good for you. Meanwhile I'll be holding mine in between snorts of eggnog.

Punkin - can we get together and give a good, big titted cheer for the Patriots? Can I hear a TOUCHDOWN????

WOW Steve! That was great!

All you bloglits are wonderful. Have the happiest ever!

Whatever your persuasion, snow or snow-not. Here's wishing us a new year without the blog bot.

(That's all I got.)

Peace.

OK THEN!

uh oh Ubetcha.... oob oob ynnan ynnan

ot - ubetcha - Jake (the Scottie) isn't usually aggressive - he's actually pretty laid back, definitely not the alpha dog and totally fine with that. So it was funny to see him swipe the squeak toy, take it to his 'fortress of solitude' (under the coffee table), and nip a hole in it. He's not purebred - maybe schnauzer/cocker, or 'schnocker' as someone here once called him. Here's his picture.

Pats clinch the AFC East.

And in related news:

I am going to have Tom Brady's baby.

Somebody please inform Tom Brady.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............Braaaaaadyyyyyy.....

UPDATE: Tom says I can have his baby, as long as I promise to breast feed him.

Done and done.

Annie.........what a beautiful boy. He has such a warm face. Before I met my wife (about 13 yrs ago) I didn't care for dogs. Now, we have three that OWN me! I would take a bullet for them.

Punkin'......Tom's a great athelete, but nobody's that good an athelete!!

Happy Happy Joy Joy. and that goes for ALL of you. xox

Awesome Steve, what a great Christmas Eve present! Thank you so much!

To one and all, Christmas/holiday hugs and smooches!

Jazzz - thanks. He's from a shelter. Yet another thing to be thankful for.

"He's not purebred - maybe schnauzer/cocker, or 'schnocker' as someone here once called him."

That would be me. Aw, you remembered.

stevie w......but are you house broken?

Nothing wrong with having to lift the corner of the carpet every once in a while, is there?

Good thing you didn't ask if I was purebred - cos a couple of messages above I read that as "pubertied."

stevie - if that's what you read, then you also must be schnockered. Sorry I couldn't remember it was you...so many puns, so few living brain cells.

Thank you, Steve, and Merry Christmas everyone! Be all snug in your beds this Christmas eve and maybe SantaJack will pay you a visit while you sleep.

...or as Johnny Carson used to say, "pooberty." I wonder why no one ever corrected him. It was probably like the lettuce-stuck-in-the-teeth thing, where nobody wants to embarass the boss.

poobertized?

Again, merry, merry. As promised, I've posted a picture of my loony lighted house here.
Last night a convertible packed with 5 people cruised by, top down, everyone wearing santa hats. Very Socal!

Annie, your house is TERRIFIC, and definitely NOT too much. I'm particularly fond of the polar bear. Hope Santa is good to you!

This one is across the street from me. It really sums up the So. Cal. Christmas experience, right Annie, Eleanor and all you other So.Cal. Blogits?

Scott - that's perfect! One next to me has 2 reindeer and Santa playing poker.

Annie, I enjoyed your Secret Santa blog post.

Thanks JD. Thanks, Scott. Secret Santa is one of my favorites. The same son left a note for Santa tonight -
Dear Santa,
I have a few questions, first, I want to know how you eat so many cookies in one night. When do you come to my house? Do you come before or after we get home from church? Lastly, how do you fit down so many chimneys all over the world in one night? My brother says you use magical gloves. Merry Christmas, Santa!
Postscript: take this note to the North Pole if you need to.

Anyone seen Santa? I thought I heard an intruder......

Annie - Yeah, he'd better take it. Wouldn't want the secret of the magical gloves to get out.

In case anyone's still reading this thread, Merry Christmas to one and all bloglits, lurkers and everybody else, and many, many thanks for all the snorks and chuckles.

You guys are the greatest.

Many blessings to you & yours.

OK, home again ... so that MB(RH?) can go back to werk in the (early) a.m. ...

in re:

Costumes: Saw three bikers in Fargo yesterday, two wearin' Santa Suits and the other (leadin' the way) with deer antlers on his helmet ... missed the photo tho ...

Cookies: MB(RH?) made some with Raspberry Chocolate Chips ... mmmmmmm ...

Grandpa/Granddaughter/Santa story:

Last nite, my daughter wuz doin' Elf duty (helpin' Santa, after the kids were asleep) and she found the note left by granddaughter #2 (who is nine years old) ... (and she's the one who leaves money for the tooth fairy, 'cuz other kids might need it ...)

"I'm sorry I can't leave you any milk. I couldn't find any. We're out. Thank you, Santa"

HOWever, she left him some cookies (of course) and a Fruit Drink box-type beverage ...

Mom found the milk, left him some, and then hadda compose the answerin' note ...

Which wuz printed by someone else, so the letterin' wouldn't be too recognizable ...

At the end, it said " ... and be good for your Mom and Dad ..."

Nothin' like maintainin' the propaganda level, eh?

Yeah, it wuz a perty nice Christmas ...

AND ...

To y'all with special problems and/or losses at this time ... merely try to remember the good stuff ... it's perhaps (speakin' from personal experience) a bit easier that way ... and, hang in there ...

So I just got back in from familying it up, and don't wish to read all this. Somebody catch me up? What're we talking about here?

Generally, merely a kaleidoscope (sp?) of seasonal relationships and experiences ...
