Hilarious! And I thought Brithish humor was an oxy-moron.

Either that or dumber than a lamp post
Posted by: Sarah J | May 15, 2006 at 05:56 PM
Whoa - my spelling of 'British' was also amusing. Argh!

"What would you feel, if while you were sitting in that rather chilly reception area, you suddenly saw yourself not sitting in reception, but live, on TV? A bit surprised?" Kewney wrote on his blog.
Dave, how DOES that feel?

Video available here
The best part is the expression on his face as they introduce him. You wouldn't notice if you didn't know what was wrong, but when you do, it's hilarious.

Posted by: ScottMGS | May 15, 2006 at 06:18 PM

Posted by: judi | May 15, 2006 at 06:26 PM
reneviht, thanks for posting the video...
Bottle of Chablis - 20 bucks
Expression on this guy's face - priceless
Posted by: AFKAT | May 15, 2006 at 06:33 PM
That guy needs to be on Letterman as the inadvertent travelling expert on everything.
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | May 15, 2006 at 06:48 PM
The look on his face was like "H@ly Sh!t, there were blanks in that gun!"
Truly priceless.
Too bad she didn't ask him the fastest way to get to Heathrow. Then he might have had a clue.
Not that she had a clue either...

What I liked was that his comments were every bit as good and relevant as the "expert" they followed him with. And probably as good as most of us networking geeks could come up with.

We're the correspondents of the BBC,
we hope that you enjoy the show,
We're the correspondents of the BBC,
Sit back...oops, wrong guy - gotta go!

BBC messed up? No surprise there, after I saw their error on the "Alice in Alice" story ... (my comments and corrections on the Kilt thread, if NEone cares ...)
Also, sorta reminds me of my one RL experience with bein' interviewed on (live) TV ... "reporter" said she'd ask us several questions about (the subject), such as ... blah, blah, blah ...
She introed the segment, then turned to me and asked a TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND UNEXPECTED QUESTION!
I can identify, and sympathize, with the cab driver's confusion and stress ...
(I managed to stumble onto a somewhut coherent reply, but there were three or four seconds of "dead air" before I could manage to do so ... merely relieved that it wuz over ...)

The video is hillarious. But I have to feel for the interviewer, too. The way she was stammering so much when she went to the second guy on the video scree, I can't help but wonder if she thought there was something wrong with the person she was interviewing. Or perhaps she couldn't understand a word he said.
I know I couldn't.

Okay, let’s see. BBC screws up and CNN calls them on it.
Shame of BBC.
Except that the guy they interviewed was NOT a cab driver – he is an IT expert who was looking for a job at BBC.
Didn’t anyone at CNN notice that his answers about the internet were amazingly knowledgeable for a cab driver?

So where's the other video where the BBC is interviewing an Internet music expert on the intricacies of cab driving?
You would halfway think that the great big Apple logo they're using as a backdrop would've tipped the guy off that maybe he's in the wrong place.

I love the BBC. I wouldn't get my news from anyplace else. But sometimes they're pretty stupid. And here's the great thing: they will report on it. Because they have to.

hilarious. who says the media are incompetent......the Beeb is usually spot on, but, well ....that guy got his 15 minutes....even tho he probly didnt want it!
Posted by: queensbee | May 16, 2006 at 06:57 AM
That guy was great! I second AnnieWBH's proposal. We should start a campaign.
Posted by: Jacki | May 16, 2006 at 07:37 AM
I wonder if he got his job interview after all that?
Posted by: Olo Baggins of Bywater | May 16, 2006 at 08:13 AM
His expression was priceless but I would have paid to see the look on the face of the real tech expert watching "himself" on TV from the green room.
