"Seeing top waiters in action is a key element of the service."
"Seeing topLESS waitresses in action" is a whole 'nother story

Waiter? There is a fly in my soup.
What's it doing?
I don't know. I'm deaf.
Posted by: Dave R | February 03, 2006 at 02:57 PM
Wow - I didn't see THIS coming.
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | February 03, 2006 at 02:59 PM
But if I can't see it FIRST, I aint eatin it. The FOOD not the waitress - well it holds true for the waitress too
Posted by: CoastRaven | February 03, 2006 at 03:00 PM
Same type of thing is in Germany. The Blind Cow.

I think the idea is to focus on the taste of the food. But why can't you just close your eyes? I do that for lots of things...
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | February 03, 2006 at 03:01 PM
" Um, excuse me..Waiter?"
"Yes?"
"This isn't what I ordered."
" How do you know? It's pitch black in here and there is no way you could possibly read the menu."
" I'm pretty sure it's a plate with a spatula on it."
" Mmmm yes, and ?"
" You set it on my lap.."
Posted by: Sean | February 03, 2006 at 03:04 PM
That sounds really cool, actually.
Posted by: «LabSpecimen» | February 03, 2006 at 03:06 PM
So how do you pay the check?
Posted by: Cheesewiz | February 03, 2006 at 03:07 PM
lab, is there ANYTHING you won't argue with? ;)
Posted by: judi | February 03, 2006 at 03:10 PM
This is obviously based on the old fraternity hazing ritual of blindfolding prospective members and making them drink A-1 steak sauce.
On the up side, the restaurant has announced that Stevie Wonder will be providing entertainment.
In a related story, The the U.S. Health Department has confirmed today that the three blind mice have been exterminated.

instead of bisseling the carpet, they just let the seeing eye dogs take care of the crumbs.

"Seeing top waiters in action is a key element of the service. It is not fine dining. I guess it saves on electricity."
*snork*
It's an interesting notion, but I tend to sideline the elements on my plate I don't like, such as mushrooms. If I can't see them, I might (urp!) accidentally eat one.

It sounds like a hold-up waiting to happen.
And who cares if the front-of-house staff aren't blind? It's too dark to see anyway.

'Scuse me, but my taters taste like thumb!"
Posted by: Lush Bimbo | February 03, 2006 at 03:21 PM
Judi, I do *not* argue with everything! :o)
There is ONE thing that we can ALL agree on: Judi rocks!

Posted by: Bumble | February 03, 2006 at 03:47 PM
Cigar for Bumble! It's from a Simpsons parody.
Now get those taxes finished.

Slave driver. :-P

What an excellent way to give the exterminated three blind mice a send off:
"Waiter, I ordered Chocolate Moose."
"I'm sorry, sir, but we're all out of Moose."

They have something like this in Melbourne, Australia. It's actually pretty good. The waiters wear night vision goggles. It's fun because if someone says something you can't tell if they are on your table or not so you end up talking to everyone.
