WHAT THEY'RE DOING AT THE UC DAVIS VETERINARY SCHOOL
They're taking a scientific gander at snake eyeballs.
Key Scientific Quote: "All of a sudden, ... when we saw those three lines (the spectacle, cornea and lens), it's 'Wow!"

I think we should outfit 'em with eyeglasses so they can attack us for good reason.

Snake eyes. I think this was already a movie starring Nicholas Cage. I didn't realize that was actually a documentary.

"3-foot 7-inch snake born in 2002..."
Now that's the sort of attention to details the reading wants to know. Glad someone was paying attention in Journalism 101...

On Saturday, five people at the UCD vet school used 50-megahertz ultrasound technology on snakes' eyes for the first time to learn more about their health. As far as the Davis researchers know, no one has published anything on this method.
WONDER WHY!!!!

I'm glad we have people dedicated enough to want to scan reptile eyeballs. I just hope it's for the Good of Mankind.

In defense of my profession (or what would be my profession, if I could get a job) I would like to point out that "Wow" is generally accepted as a legitimate scientific observation.

And now I know why it's so difficult to poke a snake in the eye.

Guys, you're all hallucinating some snake eye story!

"As far as the Davis researchers know, no one has published anything on this method."
So they are making this study not to learn anything but just because no one else has done it yet. Kind of like being the first to post on a story w/o commenting on it.
