Posted by: MOTW | July 19, 2005 at 10:13 AM
Oh dear. And I thought going to school with the name Ingles was bad...
Posted by: VictoriaE77 | July 19, 2005 at 10:15 AM
and strangely enough, he comes from a long line of Homos...

VictoriaE77, when I read your post yesterday I had to go home and spend the rest of the evening reading Harry Potter and now I am also very upset.

Father: "So, your new coach is a bit on the gay side, huh?"
Son: "...I don't think so."
Father: "But you said he's a homo."
Son: "No, I said his name is Homo."
Father: "...Yeah, I don't see the difference."

Good lord, how did they get such a long article out of something so mundane!?
Posted by: bilge | July 19, 2005 at 10:56 AM
You would think that family would have changed their name by now.

"Bryce Donovan" = Dave Nob Crony
Sorry to be so far off topic but I figured what the hell.

Pole vaulting is his specialty. He really knows how to handle that shaft to get results.

Hey, aren't you a Homo?
No, not you, man, I was talking to that guy over there, he looks just like a Homo. No, I'm not making fun of him, he IS a Homo. He can't help it, he was born into a family of Homo's. Seriously dude, he's always been a Homo. It's okay, I love the Homo's. When I was little I wanted to be a Homo.
you know this guy's had a hard life

If he switches from the boys' team to the girls' does he have to change his name to Hetro?

"I wonder why my resume isn't getting any hits. Maybe I should put in something about my hobbies."

You know, I just accept my humanity. I don't have to walk around identifying my self as Homo Sapien. Although for this fella he hasn't quite narrowed it down, and he is a football player so he might be one back to Homo erectus which just leads us right back to that whole gay angle....

holy toledo. who walks around with a name llike that!! there's probably not a judge in this country who wouldnt approve a switch to anything!! well, maybe not Homoh. but really. and i always thought that people named schmuck and /or assenmacher had it bad.

Another headline from the right sidebar: "Pocket queens spell trouble for Tribble".
That's one bored headline editor...

VictoriaE77, all I can say is that I want a happy ending for all!

It's a bit difficult (heh - I did NOT say "hard") to tell from the mug shot, but if he's a football player and from the apparent (perceived) size of him, I'd guess he doesn't get too much hassle from people who want to (wittily?) comment on his name/sexual preferences ...

Homo's father, Dana Homo...

Posted by: Brainy Jello | July 19, 2005 at 01:55 PM
ARGH!!!! I scroll down hoping no one had taken my comment and BAM! Last comment, Brainy Jello said it.
Wonder if Dana's brother's name was Leslie?
Posted by: slyeyes | July 19, 2005 at 03:58 PM
Yep, slyeyes, Brainy Jello got my comment too! :)

I'm reminded (sort of) of the opening paragraphs of Tim Allen's auto-bio where he confesses that he is "a Dick." He has "always been a Dick." And "comes from a long line of Dicks." He dropped his last name, "Dick" (obviously) when he entered show biz. Of course, Andy Dick never felt compelled to do that.
I'm done saying "dick" now.

Don't disrespect his father. He worked hard to make it through the military ranks to become a Major Homo.
