And by the way, Meanie? You extinguished my hair. It's no longer red nor curling. I'm not sure whether to thank you or "flame" you.

So, thanks a lot, Meanie!! (Read into that whatever tone you prefer.)

Well, this has been an interesting night. I got to call 911 for the first time in my life.

Some teenage kid ran up on our porch and was banging on the door & yelling for help like the devil and all his minions were on his tail, then we saw somebody jerk him away from the door and heard shouting and screaming. Mom opened the door and there was a big bearded guy with an aluminum bat shoving this high school boy up against the brick wall on our porch. I hung up the phone (I was talking to my sister) and called 911. Mom talked the guy down (he didn't actually hit the kid with the bat, I don't think, but he wouldn't let him out of his sight and he was all for us calling the cops) and the police got there pretty quick. Apparently a bunch of boys have been vandalizing this guy's house and pestering him for a couple of weeks, and he decided to take matters into his own hands tonight. The last I saw of it all was the cop yelling at the guy to put his bat down, and mom was hugging the kid; he looked like he was about die of fright. Everything calmed down and the cops caught the rest of the boys who were with the kid, and they were all out there talking for quite a while after the officer finished taking mom's statement. I don't know what happened to whom, and I'm not sure whose side I'm on. Vandalism is all too common in this town, and we've been victims of it before, but I'm not in favor of the "chase the perps onto a stranger's property with a bat" method of redressing the wrong. There are better ways to go about such things. I told mom later that I saw her hugging the kid, and I asked her if he was crying; it looked like he might have been. She just donned her saintly mothering expression and said, "He wanted a hug." :-) I love my mom.

Never a dull moment. What is up with this world we live in, eh?

*shakes head*

In cuter news, my sister just told my mother about something my nephew said tonight. He was supposed to be getting ready for bed, and he came to the top of the stairs and said, "I have a suggestion, mom. My suggestion is called: popsicle." He's a clever little bargainer, that one is. :-)

Great googly-moogly!

Your mom sounds awesome, bumble...but that must have been scary.

Ah, those milestones of life--our first love....our first drink....our first 911 call....

yipes! Baseball bat you say?

*carefully puts down the silly string and toilet paper, backing slowly away*

*turns and runs to find Bumble's mom*

{{{Bumble!!!}}}

Wow, that's some Saturday night. Nice job staying calm and doing what needed to be done, B.

I think your nephew is onto something -- maybe we should all have P0psicles™ on hand at all times, in case of emergencies like the one on your doorstep? (Funny how much they look like tiny frozen baseball bats, although they leave a much kinder mark.)

Frozen Treats for Peace!™

Greetings from blog robot h**l! I'm finally being allowed to post a message. EIther something was up with the blog or with my internet connection, but I was getting sent to the robot 2 - 3 times for each time I tried to post a reply.

Kinks seem to be shaken out.

1) Neo looked stunning with flaming red hair, but it was the expanding blackened bits that were getting me a bit worried. So I took action to restore her natural beauty and radiance before it was too late.

2) Bumble, that was extraordinary kindness that both you and your mom showed. You both get one of these.

3) No P0psicles, No Peace!

4) There'd better be a chocolate one for me, or there's gonna be trouble.

Well, I'll be dipped....there really WAS a 3!

huh ... din't know that wuz a colloquialism where you are, Sharon ... or mebbe where you grew up ...

It's a handy expression, and even moreso when used in its entirety ... (sanitization possible by substitutin' "sugar" fer the other word ... if needed ...)

sharon~ Dipped in what? Chocolate? If so, watch out for Blue. He might try for a taste. ;-)

bumble, i'm thinkin what they had in mind could be considered chocolatey, in an "eeewwwww" sorta way. ;)

leaves a little somethin to placate blue.

dive in!

*dips*

Sweet!

...and the chocolate looks yummy, too. ;-)

*paddles happily around in chocolate*

*a random stranger happens by and says...."

"So what's the skinny, dipper?"

*ducks*

Me: Waiter! What's this dragon doing in my chocolate?

Kilties: ____________

Looks like she's eating it, sir. I'd let her if I were you.

On another topic, Blue, could you read through this real quick and tell me where the major errors are?

Liebe Stefan!

Deutschland is sehr schön und interessant. Ich hoffe eines Tag Ich kann zurück kommen. Ich möchte mehr Deutsch lernen. Können wir wieder miteinander schreiben? Vielleicht auf Deutsch jetzt? ;-)

Es gefällt mir, dass wir getroffen haben. Ich habe genossen, Hannover mit ihm zusehen. Wieder, vielen herzlichen Dank!

Beatrice

How bad is it?

I'm sure it's wonderful, Bumble...I decided to let Blue do the helping, since his German is infinitely better than mine, but I did run it though babelfish, which is ALWAYS a hilarious exercise. This is what it came up with:

Loves Stefan! How geht's? Am I well. Did you have a good birthday? I sent a birthday map, but I white not whether you have her gotten. I did not have your correct address. We had much fun in Germany. To Berlin we remained in swan gau, Rothenburg and Mainz. We drove with Tegelbergbahn, and we saw lock new swan stone and lock high swan gau. Then we drove to the romantic road to Rothenburg. To Rothenburg we drove to Mainz. We drove also a ship on the Rhine to Sammstag. The weather was very coldly, wet and windy, but the locks are beautiful. The journey pleased me. Germany is very beautifully and interesting. I hope day I can back come. I would like to learn more Germans. Can we write again with one another? Perhaps on German now? ; -) It pleases me that we met. I enjoyed, Hanover with him to watch. Again, thank you very much!

......*SNORK!*

i read thru it real quick

was a sore throat the intended result?

was i not sposed to read out loud?

Oh my holy gosh. I'm laughing my head off at that translation. I really hope I'm not that far off. Yikes. :-)

*pounces on, and snorks at, Tumnus*

*doesn't understand german*

*doesn't even attempt to attempt to do so*

*grabs a beer and exits discreetly*

*goes to bed*

G'night!

is it acceptable, while in berlin, to remain in swan gau?

i thought swan gua was some kinda chinese dish

huh

shows what i know

swan tastes best when roasted over an open flame till a golden brown

with no pink inside, right?

How come you didn't send me a birthday map, Bumble?? Now I'm all hurt.

And tomorrow I'm going to make a point to go to the romantic road...maybe then my love life will improve!

Oooh, a simul with my southern sistah is a good start!

:p

you cant cook a swan!

there like, endangered or somethin, aint they?

you're the one who wanted to cook one

the rest of us are only accessories after the fact. ;)

i didnt say i wanted to cook one

i was just sayin how they're best cooked - just in case anyone needed to know

you know, like in case that question came up on jeopardy or somethin

Uh-oh! Tarragon cooked a swan!!

Now his goose is cooked.

*gooses Tarragon*

Tarragon goose sounds pretty tasty, truth be told.
And that goose was pretty tender.

*gooses again, just to be sure*

Bumble: Here are some slight correcttions/suggestions.

Lieber Stefan!

Depending on how familiar you want to be, you might say: "Ich habe genossen, Hannover mit dir zusehen.", or "Ich habe genossen, Hannover mit Ihnen zusehen.

Overall, bueno, excelente! How was the swan?

Scary. Apparently the swan was the symbol for the knights of Schwangau. Being knights, I suppose they wanted their symbol to look tough. All the swans down there had their wings spread out in attack mode and had their tongues stuck out. They looked ticked.

Tiffany called them "the pissed-off swans" of Schwangau.

Thanks for the corrections. Now I won't sound like quite as much of an inane idiot. I'm much more eloquent in English. :-)

Bumble...when I was in England, I visited Penshurst, the house of the renowned Renaissance poet Sir Philip Sidney. Well, the main symbol of their crest is a....porcupine. So they have these gorgeous coats-of-arms all over the mansion with enormous porcupines in them...somewhat incongruous. Also, in a glass case, there is a suit of armor including a helmet--with a giant, bristling, thoroughly pissed-off looking stuffed porcupine stuck on top of it.

I laughed until I cried when I saw it.

sharon, if you were stuffed and placed inside a case, wouldn't you be pissed off? ;)

and "pissed off porcupines" sounds like AGNF somethin, right?

*snork*

Yes and yes, s-girl.

*grabs a cold cider, flings self (not Self) into hammock, and fiddles with Kiltie remote until the scene is perfect....white sandy beach, turquoise ocean, palm trees and cabana boys galore*

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.......I LOVE spring break!!

Hmmmm....something's not quite right....

*pushes button on Kiltie remote*

PING!

*white sandy beach is instantly transformed into plaid sandy beach*

Much better...for a Kiltie vacation and all.

and the less modest blog-guys can wear these!

*snork*

Uhhhhhhh... warning next time, OK, hmmmmmm?

oh, c'mon blue, i left that specially for you! ;P

*seconds Bumble's *snork**

Talk about "in your face"......

*sigh*

who knew blue was so shy...

okay, blue, just for you!

tc and adonis can wear the others. ;)

I will accept that invitation from sgirl even though my work internet filter doesn't let me see them.

Was that a good idea?

BTW, I had a problem last time I was here when I tried to post. The stupid robot kept challenging me, but no picture would come up so I could put the code in. Just one of those IE 'broken image' icons. I made some funny dragon-pretzel jokes, but I can't remember them right now. Oh well. Stupid robot.

I'm also thinking about changing my name to Adon1s, or 4don1s, or 4d0n15, or 4|)0//15. What do you guys think?

1 |*3|250//411`/ 10\/3 1337. \/\/|-|47 |)0 `/0|_| 9|_|`/5 7|-|1//|

Sorry, that last word should read:

7|-|1//X?

1 4/\/\ 73|-| 51|_|7 47 1337.

Adonis, if you are looking for a name, I like the name "Adonis." I'm old; the only leet I personally like is our blogger Leetie. (Well, you DID ask what we think.)

Well, if you guys |=331 that way, then I'll chill teh leet.

I think it's cool though.

But if you fogeies can't handle it ...

*maniacal whippersnapper laughter*

hey, who you callin a whippersnapper?!?

and i, too, think you should stick with "Adonis".

it suits you. :)

also, accepting the invitation was a very good idea.

*evil smile*

*wonders if it is some kind of tartan banana hammock*

BTW, I was callin' myself a whippersnapper. Duh.

*thinks Ado should go back to being weasel boogers*

That was you, right? ;-)

Ado, it was a pair of tighty plaidies.

Gah. If you want your German corrected, send it to one German-speaking person, not two. Two is just confusing.

I'm trying to decipher the differences between Blue's corrections and my teacher's. I think they're both right, just different. Although there's a grammatical issue or twenty that I'm not sure about. :-)

Yeah, that was me. I cannot go back because my Escapa skills dictate it.

I was also bobndougfan, but I p1ss3d some people off, so I changed my name. In the middle of changing, I had another moniker, but I can't remember it. Maybe joecool? I dunno. Both short lived anyway.

How about BoogerBairn? Perfectly combines the elements of Dave fan and young Kiltie, and alliterative to boot!

Or maybe it's just time for me to stop watching Greyfriar's Bobby and go to bed. :-)

Yeah, that last one you said. Except the going to bed. Please don't leave me alone by myself. You've seen what happens.

:-) You'll have company for as long as it takes me to finish my letter to my aunt, then I'm going to bed. I've got to spend all day studying for a test tomorrow. :-(

i'm here now, do i count?

and is it ok that my hair isn't pink today? ;D

*counts s-girl*

*smooches bumble*

Bumble - Do you know these folks?

Yes you do count sgirl. And you blue. Sorry for the delayed reaction, had some dispatching to do. You know, whiny people on the side of the road and all that rot.

*gets in on the counting and smooching*

*luvs s-girl some pink hair dye*

*sees an obvious solution that would allow Bumble to go to bed and not leave Adonis alone, but decides to keep it to herself*

*....but *snorks* about it anyway*

...and is it just me or is this thread really slowing down? Is it maybe time to move again?

Yes ... and he counts!!

Well I gotta go. Peace peoples.

nite ado!

thanks sistah, i've kinda grown fond of the pink hair. :)

and yes, to this sloooow moving thread.

Blue~ Can't say I do. :-)

Ado~ Did you heinz? I was telling them all about how I made my first 911 call the other night. It was an eventful evening, to say the least.

Hmmmmm... how 'bout here?

it works for me, kay.
