A friend and I were discussing how she could obtain a relative's death certificate. I suggested she try contacting the county in which the death was registered and ordering a certificate from them. To test my theory, I checked the website for Multnomah County, Oregon (link below) where I found this puzzling statement: "... If you need a certified copy of your death certificate, you should contact the Certification Unit of the Oregon Center for Health Statistics.
