The Real Housewives of Miami loses viewers in its second week

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Child, it isn't. Nor is it Pawn Stars, though some would say it's alliteratively something like it). Looks like The Real Housewives of Miami is a niche novelty for a handful of viewers, most who likely come from the city of Miami, watching purely as they would a car accident on the Palmetto during rush hour. Then again, most Miamians you talk to want nothing to do with Bravo's latest. Whatever the case, the numbers were down last night from the previous premiere week.

Viewership during the 9 p.m. time slot last week was 1.066 million as compared to last night's 1.025 million. That's a loss of approximately 41,000 viewers. To the show's credit, however, the in-your-face immediate rerun aired at 10 p.m. last night attracted (or repelled) an additional 815,000 viewers or people still sleeping from that confounding, mind numbing, nonsensical texting caper "plot" of the original airing, according to TV By the Numbers.

To put it into perspective, last night's episode of Glee, the Britney one, airing against RHOM in the 9 p.m. slot, garnered a whopping 7.42 million viewers, some who may have tuned into the RHOM repeat at 10. In fairness, the Housewives don't rake in numbers like that; The Real Housewives of NYC's Monday episode brought in 1.989 million viewers. Honey Boo Boo's Wednesday night episode had 2.157 million voyeurs. When Honey Boo Boo meets Elsa Patton, the ratings will be through the roof.

It's very simple. The women who should be on this show are suspiciously absent for obvious political reasons. Three of the cast belong in the cast. The others are non entities and have no business being on any television show even though we know they feel they are global superstars. One in particular not only is ratings poison but worked tirelessly behind the scenes seeing to it that two of last seasons ladies were not asked back and saw to it that two iconic Miami gals were passed over. Boy, how things have backfired. When you are vicious, hateful, and manipulating, you get what you deserve in the end.

Miami just isn't that interesting

the show is damaged goods. just abandon ship and start a new miami based show. please don't do a season 3.

After this past weeks post shows clips for next weeks show preview, it looks to me like this is going to be like no other franchise. Our very own, REAL STAR of them all Miss Elaine Lancaster, going after one of them. If Elaine continues on this season then I bet you the ratings will dramatically increase because all of them are the same old same old. BLAH & blasé. Bring it QUEENIE.

Jennifer Horowitz

They should have put Elaine on in the first episode. show is awful. never have i cared less about a bunch of pepople than in this one. Done.

Why is everyone here hating so much? Is it because you were one of those passed over. What's so bad about seeing our gorgeous city and some freaky people here on National television?? Its no worse or no better than any of the other Housewives - and some of us think they're fun. Why are you so intent on having it cancelled?? If you don't like it don't watch it. Write about something else that some pr pal is pushing.

Besides the commenter Buck Winthrop, who's hating? People don't have to love, like or watch the show just because it takes place in their city. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and for whatever reason, they don't like it. So what? And don't shoot the messenger. The blog is only reporting the truth, that the show lost viewers. Wow people take thse things way too personally and seriously. lighten up! And for what it's worth, I think the show sucks too, but will watch for ELAINE!
