Rock of Ages Pre-Casting Call in Fort Lauderdale

Constantine-Maroulis-and-Tom-Cruise-300x200 Tony nominated, American Idol rejected Constantine Maroulis may have been dissed from playing the lead in the motion picture version of his Broadway smash hit Rock of Ages, but Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Catherine Zeta-Jones and some random dude who took Maroulis's place Gonzalez Boneta, among others, will be in the flick and, as we reported last month, will be not too far from us, filming in Fort Lauderdale this month and possibly, if our big mouthed sources are correct, maybe even staying in Miami. And perchance, for a chance at an even closer view of the big staaahs, a casting call for extras will take place May 6-7, 13-14, and 20-21 at America's Backyard, 100 SW 3rd Ave. in the FLL. Times are 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. except on the 14th when it will be from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Late night casting calls, huh. Interesting, but here's the rub: this is a pre-casting to the actual casting. Apparently all you need to bring with you is a picture, contact phone number and email. Professional photos not necessary. Those people already  have their parts in the movie. Good luck and, uh, rock on.
