Let's see if social butterfly Erin Newberg can redeem Miami's soiled reality show reputation when she co-stars in VH1's new reality show Secrets of Aspen, a docu-soap about six women and one man living in jet setty Aspen, premiering on Sunday, January 3 at 10 p.m. Sharing the same producers as VH1 Tough Love, we're kind of nervous, but Newberg's a smart cookie so she may do us proud. In full disclosure, this blogger was the one who scored Newberg an audition for the show, so if she blows, so do we. But that won't happen. It just can't. If it does, we promise to sit through an endless loop Miami Social--for two minutes or until we pass out--whichever comes first.

Twilight set on Prime Italian last night when some members of the New Moon wolf pack, Chaske Spencer, Tinsel Korey and Gil Birmingham, stopped in, sitting down to dinner at a table of 20. (Insert Hungry Like the Wolf joke here). After dinner the pack crossed the road to have drinks at Prime 112. But it was hardly a screaming teeny bopper fan fest. That was reserved for across town at the Fontainebleau's Verizon Wireless Blackberry party for Timbaland, where screaming fans who came to see him perform along with Brandy (the comeback version) and JoJo included: Real Housewives of New York's Kelly Bensimon, Elle Macpherson (who we saw with F-bleau owner/boyfriend Jeff Soffer Thursday at the one year anniversary party for Scarpetta. On the way out we overheard Soffer saying something to the effect of, "I own this place," which, yes, he does), Maroon Five's Adam Levine, Gym Glass Heroes singer Travis McCoy, Nicky Hilton (who crawled out of her rock of obscurity), Russell Simmons, Serena Williams and Fat Joe.

The just turned 17-year-old Miley Cyrus may have dressed like a hooker--well, Julia Roberts circa Pretty Woman---on her birthday party invitation, but at the Fontainebleau today she was all beach blanket Barbie (more like Skipper, actually), sporting a hot pink bikini and prancing around the property on her cell phone. Cyrus is in town not for Art Basel, but for some down time following her last North American tour date. Pool party in the USA!
When High School Musical star Corbin Bleu boarded the Oasis of the Seas for a Make-A-Wish fundraiser Monday, he knew he was in store for some serious fan flattery. And while being chased by paparazzi and fans may not be completely foreign to Bleu, how about a high-speed chase at sea by a bigtime fan in a wheelchair? After a meet and greet with three Make-A-Wish kids and their families at the Oasis's Seafood Shack, Bleu was spotted by a little boy confined to a wheelchair. But don't feel bad for Tony from Wichita, another Make-A-Wish kid flown in specifically to meet Bleu. He clearly makes his own wishes come true. According to our seaworthy spies, little Tony "hits the button on his electric wheelchair and takes off like a bat out of hell" after Bleu. When the chair came to a screeching halt in front of the High School Musical star, instead of calling security like some tools would, Bleu got down on the kid's level and started chatting. After catching this, all the other kids followed. Bleu spent most of his free time right there and later behind closed doors with all his fans and their families. Refreshingly real. Also pretty cool, we hear, was Dancing With the Stars' Karina Smirnoff, who also spent time with fans and Make-A-Wish kids, posing with them in various ballroom dance-y poses. And in other news, we think Sylvester Stallone actually moved his face to smile at Art Basel today.

And the winner of the Samuel Keller Award for Most Ubiquitous Art Basel Miami Beach Personality goes to....Naomi Campbell, who seems to have cloned herself, making appearances pertty much, well, everywhere, including a Miami Magazine/National Geographic Society photo show at Area 31 last night where she was, says our source, "especially tame," standing "on the sidelines, preferring to go unnoticed." Here she is, extremely noticed, at Nest on Lincoln Road with owner Sara Colombo and her hubby/developer Ugo, checking out an Italian sculpture and photo exhibit.
