This lovely cabana wasn't enough to help the poor people in the lobby of the Fontainebleau this stormy afternoon, when all of a sudden, says our source, "The roof collapsed and it's literally raining in the lobby, near the LIV entrance. All the restaurants are closed, too. It's complete chaos." Ridiculous! After all those zillions spent on revamping the place, they couldn't build a roof to withstand a Florida rainstorm?

Update: The Kardashians will have to find another place to host a party; word is that the hotel's subterranean sushi spot Blade has gone the way of Lindsay Lohan's career, while LIV has sustained mega damage and will be on hiatus for what we think will be a long while.
Other victims of the deluge include The Florida Room at Delano, which is closed, and surely more to come. If this isn't a wakeup call to city officials to figure out the hideous flooding situation before the big one hits, we don't know what is. Not to mention the fact that closings like these severely impinge on our already fragile economic situation. If only someone spent as much time, passion and money on eliminating the flooding as they did on Burn Notice and building a baseball stadium. Wishful thinking, perhaps, and shoddy construction notwithstanding!

all those zillions?? yeah, all those zillions probably went into a few peoples' pockets instead of into solid materials. typical Miami...shoddy construction and probably inferior materials from China

Plan on seeing this more often as we get hit by some bigger storms. All those shiny condos? Built to the same "standards"...
My little apt was built in '47 and is still here unscathed.

it's just baffling to me that we live in one of the most hurricane prone areas in the world and these places--not to mention streets, roads, et al that are flooded and closed right now-- can't sustain a storm.

Too bad our city officials would rather build an arts center than fix the horrible sewer system, that experts have repeatedly told them needs repair.

I'm glad I got to go a couple of weeks back for the Kardashian's party( I didn't get inside LIV, me & my friend drank at the circle bar ). It looked really nice. We walked around and saw the outside of Gotham and saw the pool from the balcony.
At least I got to see it before they had the indoor river. ;)

I'm still waiting 2 YEARS to be paid for flood damage from roof collapse
at Admiral's Port Condo in Aventura!!!! Building Assoc. hired roofer June
"07 to repair roof and they didn't protect bldg from tropical storm that hit,
ceiling in living room collapsed, over a foot of water accumulated, damaged everything, and they STILL HAVEN'T PAID US FOR THE REPAIRS that THEY were responsible for!!!! Homeowners Ins. paid their share right away, Admiral's Port Condo Assoc. is still dodging payment, been lying to us for two years! Finally had to get a lawyer, can you believe the nerve of the board? If it was their apartment, they would want to be reimbursed!

I work at the fontainebleau, and had a time going around trying to help clean up the mess that was made by this regular storm....yeah, regular storm. Not hurricane or tropical storm or depression, just a regular storm. This is crazy, but might help us prepare for the bad weather ahead. I pray so...

maybe the people that make rediculous amounts of money at that hotel should put it back into the hotel and not lead you all to believe that the problem should be payed for by tax payers... i'm just saying what a rediculous accusation that anyone other than the over priveldged freeloaders such as the cardashians should be paying for such an extravagant place to have a party... if it is not up to par then finally someone has their money that probably worked for it and deserves it!! lmao
