It was hot as hell in the Original Penguin store last night for the 944 Magazine party, but former American Idol contestant Elliott Yamin didn't utter a complaint and sang three songs in an amazing acoustic set. He should should have beaten out whatshisname, er, Taylor Hicks. Anyway, it was hard getting Yamin to open his eyes while he sang, but they were almost popping out of his head after several of his allegedly "biggest" (in more ways than one) fans waited to shower him with praise. We spoke to Yamin who was nothing but a gracious gentleman in dire need of some air conditioning.

Oh, yes, Elliott Yamin should have beaten out whatshisname. All of the other top ten should have beaten out whatshisname. That season was a joke, and brought American Idol down, down, down. Luckily, Season 7 restored it to credibility. Elliott is a great singer.

The Penguin store event was great. Thanks 944 Magazine. Elliot should have won American Idol and he was amazing the other night. He will be around for a long long time....
