How good will Tannehill be? Poll. Vote!; plus LeBron now Mr. Popularity, bet-picks for UM football, Rick Norton, Weiner, Oden, Duncan & more

1) It is SUNDAY, JULY 28. Click on Random Evidence for today's latest Sunday notes column. 2) Played golf yesterday at Sunrise but rained out on 17th hole. Was headed to the usual low-90s purgatory. 3) Rick Norton, expansion-era Dolphins quarterback, died in Louisville at age 69. Our condolences. 4) Heat announced its season opener/banner-raising will be Oct. 29 here vs. Bulls. Miami will play at Lakers on Christmas Day, with full 2013-14 NBA schedule yet to come. 5) In The Previous Blogpost (ITPB): Ryan Braun's naivete, D-Wade's ex, Marlins fast-forward, While I Was Away, Favorite-team poll result, My vacation & more. 5b) You are invited to follow us on Twitter (gregcote), Instagram (Upsetbird) and Vine (Greg Cote).

1aa1mollitodayR.I.P., Molli Serrano: I mentioned my neighbor Molli in the blog months ago when she was to compete in Hawaii's Ironman Triathlon despite battling pancreatic cancer. (She did, and finished 49th in her age group). Well, I'm sorry to say Molli has passed away; her funeral was this week. She leaves a husband and 9-year-old twins. She was 40.

1aa1ryantPREDICT HOW GOOD RYAN TANNEHILL WILL BE: Thirty years ago Dan Marino found great, enduring motivation in being the sixth quarterback chosen in the 1983 NFL draft. I suggest in today's latest column that Ryan Tannehill should have the same good-anger and drive at being so quickly judged as only the fourth-best QB (at best) from his draft class. Click on Concede Nothing to read the full column (and thanks for making it the most-read of anything on MiamiHerald.com today). Nobody seems to put Tannehill in the same conversation with Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III or Russell Wilson, but that doesn't mean he won't still get there. What do you see as Tannehill's long-term Dolphins future in terms of how good he'll be? Marino-esque? A bust? There are miles of middle ground between those extremes. Try to be dispassionate and go with honest gut feeling over wishful thinking. Vote now, say why and check back often to monitor evolving results.

ONCE VILIFIED, LEBRON NOW MR. POPULARITY: ESPN says it, so it must be so: LeBron James is now the most popular player in the NBA, a perch he last held in the 2008-09 season, dethroning Kobe Bryant. It's further anecdotal evidence that his PR recovery from The Decision is complete. The ESPN poll found LeBron the favorite of 12.9 percent, edging Kobe's 12.5. The top five was completed by Kevin Durant (3.6), Derrick Rose (2.8) and Dwyane Wade (2.5).

CANES FOOTBALL OVER/UNDER SET AT 8 1/2 WINS: Updated betting over/under for season victories 1aa1algfor the seven state FBS college teams, courtesy Bovada, are Florida State 10, Florida 9, Miami 8.5, UCF 8, South Florida 5.5, FIU 3 and FAU 2.5. Of course 8.5 does not mean they're predicting a tie; it means you must bet on UM either finishing 8-4 or worse in the regular season, or a 9-3 or better. For coach Al Golden (pictured) and the Canes, the most lose-able games, in order of peril, look to be Nov. 2 at FSU, Oct. 17 at North Carolina, Sept. 7 vs. Florida, Nov. 9 vs. Virginia Tech and Oct. 5 vs. Georgia Tech. Each of those opponents has an over/under of at least 8 wins. Miami is a favorite to reach the Dec. 7 ACC Championship Game, pending any additional sanctions by the NCAA. Season soft-opens Aug. 30 vs. FAU.

1aa1gregodenTHE HEAT AND GREG ODEN: Oden last played in an NBA game in December 2009 in a career made chaotic by three knee surgeries, but the Heat want to sign him and should. So do a bunch of other teams. He'll make his decision next week, and the possibility far outweighs the risk. I fully explore in this column: Click on The Oden Factor to read.

And in other Heat news...: LeBron wore an AKRON cap on his current Nike business trip to China, the latest indication he'll dump Miami and return to Cleveland after next season, according to baseless speculation. Did I mention LeBron also has his own personal 24/7 DJ with him in China?

SUDDENLY, TIM DUNCAN DOESN'T SEEM QUITE AS BORING AS HE USED TO: Dwyane Wade thought his 1aa1duncant divorce was messy? It was. But not like this. Spurs star Tim Duncan and wife Amy (pictured in laughier times) are divorcing, and various media reports suggest the main reason is their mutual infidelity -- including Tim's alleged past affair with a male friend. You know how Duncan used to be the most boring man in the NBA? Maybe he wasn't quite as boring as we thought.

MEET THE DUMBEST MAN IN AMERICA: New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner has admitted 1aa1aweinerto more lewd online sexting with women - the same offense that got him shame-nounced from Congress two years ago. Weiner, pictured, has declined thus far to drop out of the race despite plummeting approval ratings in polls across the Big Apple. The good news? His poll numbers have risen sharply in the boroughs of Sodom and Gomorrah.

IN SEARCH OF OUR OWN KING GEORGE: In honor of the Royal Baby (pictured left) being named George Alexander Louis -- henceforth His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge -- I set out to find the 1aa1babyroyalGreatest George in 1aa1georgewSouth Florida pro sports history. It was intended to be a List, but there weren't enough qualified Georges after our anointed king: Original Dolphins coach George Wilson (pictured right). Only nine Dolphins players have been named George, and none of reknown. The longest-tenured were punter Roberts (1978-80) and defensive end Little (1985-87), although I'd toss a shoutout to single-season QBs Wilson Jr. (1966) and Mira (1971). The Panthers' lone George was Parros, who played here last season but was traded earlier this month. The Heat and Marlins have never had a George. (Sorry, but the Spanish version isn't included here, until which time the Royal Baby starts going by Prince Jorge).

That baby's face is freakin' me out..

So sorry to read about your neighbor Molli. In the end these are he real heroes in the World. Prayers for her family.

Thank you Jimbo for noting my call on Cam CamMoron. Hey FZB I'm not a "negativo" I'm a "pragmatico".

Pete Prisco at CBS Sports....

---I am not sure Martin has to the foot speed to play the left side against all the big-time pass rushers and protect Tannehill's backside.

---Dion Jordan is being counted on to be a pass-rush compliment to Pro Bowl player Cameron Wake...BUT... Keep an eye on second-year player Olivier Vernon. I think he will be the guy to emerge as this team's second pass rusher in 2013.

I hate to say this but I think Pete is right. Martin proved last year he can't play LT. I'm not guessing on this one. I'm just using demonstrable FACTS from his play last year. The guy is not an LT.

And Dion Jordan is weak. Weak pass rushers get abused by strong offensive linemen. Even at full strength, the Dolphins were only expected to play Jordan this year as a third-down specialist. He was not an every down end in college. HE WAS NOT AN EVERY DOWN END IN COLLEGE. OMG!

Let us not forget DION JORDAN WAS THE THIRD OVERALL PICK IN THE DRAFT. Does this remind anyone of Cam CamMoron picking Ted Ginn, a ffing punt returner, with the 9th overall pick? The third overall pick should be on an every down player, not a third-down specialist. I hope I'm wrong on this one but I see bust all over this pick.

Really disappointing because Ireland could have selected some real playmakers who could have made a difference for Miami at need positions(e.g., Dee Milliner, Tavon Austin). Could you imagine trying to defense Miami with the speed of Mike Wallace AND Tavon Austin on the field at the same time?

Remember FZB I am not a "negativo", I'm a "pragmatico".

With that soft azz schedule, the canes should be able to roll right outta bed and sleepwalk to 8 wins.

ahh "negativo Tom"...

J Martin was a LT in college and was projected as a LT in the pros, he is going back to his natural position , we'll see..I could care less what a writer or so called expert says..I was listening to another "football" expert a couple of days ago on the radio (Armando Salgueiro) and he said J Martin was going to be just fine, again is just someone's opinion.

bottom line NO ONE KNOWS how good or bad J Martin will be but there is a reason he was drafted high in the draft, he does have talent..

on D Jordan, so you think the guy will be a bust already?...man.

so now you are a "pragmatico"?..hhmm, well I guess based on last years results yes J Martin was bad but NFL players do improve after their rookie years (not all) so again time will tell..again, you can't give up on a young player after just one year.

I think the Canes have a shot at winning 9 games this year...barring major injuries.

JJ REDICK-CHRISTIAN ABORTER!!!

a member of the g-d squad has a written contract that dictates that his girlfriend be required to get an abortion if impregnated. somehow i dont that that qualifies as WWJD!!!!

FZB

I love you my blog brother but you lost ALL credibility when you said that Armando Salgueiro is a "football expert."

hehe, that's why put his name in parenthesis, remember opinions are like ash holes..everyone has one..

bottom line no one knows which is why you have to give it time.

That bby looks like Durward Kirby...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Durward_Kirby_1962.JPG

Baby for f***sake...

Say what? "A male friend?" Say it ain't so, Cote.

Hmmm so Tim's been on the down low. Not that there is anything wrong with that. If that's how he wants his oranges squeezed that's his business...

Armando fine corinthian leather...

Cote..I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your friend Molli Serrano, sad to see someone die so young.

I always thought that Cote and Lebatard had something going on, not that there is anything wrong with it.

hey don't look now but the Marlins have a few good young players, could it be that that asswipe LOria was right?...nah, I don't think so.

Hello gentlemen. Can't satisfy your better half leave it to me...

Anybody seen this, soon to be living what's left of his life in agonizing pain, dead honky?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqTpqIUWVrc&list=TLXL5TUrZHIYU

Wonder if they'll have popcorn and peanutz at his lethqal injection..

LETHAL FACKING INJECTION

I don't know if it's true, but quite frankly I'm not really surprised at the latest revelation about Tim Duncan.

Now if there was a story that Ireland was heterosexual then I'd really be shocked.

UM beats FAU only because FAU will be contractually obligated to lose to UM.

Big JIm..that's some funny chit brother.

Tom..what are you talking about in ref to Duncan.

FZB

Tim Duncan's wife in divorce filings claims Duncan is bisexual.

http://newsone.com/2641229/tim-duncan-bisexual-gay/

OK Tommy..stop taking shots at my son Ireland, that's not nice.

so Duncan is a girly man?...Hey what's the big deal, if he likes a dicky up his romp then everyone should respect that.

Cote, you just can't come out and drop a bomb like that in the newspaper. If you think that Braun got 50 days for drinking a few Canseco shakes you won't believe what you're going to get once the Heralds legal department now composed of the Goldstein twins finishes with you. You were well advised to take that fishing trip and smoke all that halibut it's going to be a long winter buddy. Even with your six inches of blubber I don't know if that will be sufficient to last you through the liable trial, the bankruptcy proceedings, and the long lines at the unemployment office, and that's before Tim Duncan's lawyers, and boy is he going to Heb up for this one, get through with you. Not good, Cote, not good at all.

FINKSTEIN, SCHWARZ & TEITELBAUM...

Backed up by WI, FOKEM, & HOWE.

It's been nice knowing you, Cote. Is Armando going to take over the column and the blog?

god I hope not...we'll have all of Dashi's friends over here.

Jeffrey is quite sexy...

Hey Takei, Jeffrey is my guy!!!

You're both wrong. Jeffrey and I are steady Freddies...

oh boy...here we go.

Taking a quick peek into the blog and away from putting even more crap into storage. Oh, and special thanks go out to Woodcock for lending me his 1994 Fred MacMurray Roadmaster, complete with faux wood panelling, to haul it away.

Woodcock, I want you to know that I've gotten more than just a couple of looks from motorists who have tracked me pass by and busted out into laughter.

Anyone happen to read these concerning observations?

http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/61467/miami-dolphins-stock-watch

Oye nalga, keep hauling crap to the dump and finish with woody I have to get the kid up and practicing for her August 6th driving test. Her third try. Oh boy.

Oye nalga, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you could be driving by in a brand new Roller Drop Top convertible and people will still be laughing at you.....

I can should be done by tomorrow. I'll drive it down after I place 5 yards of turf lawn in your back seat. I've got to patch up the lawn.

btw, Woods. A little red indicator light went off yesterday as I was driving your rig. It said - Owner Sucks!

Canes are having a break out season. Barring any serious injury to a key player, with the explosive talent on offense, and a bit more maturity on defense, I see a regular season record of no worse than 10-2, an ACC Championship and a BCS bowl win. Lofty expectations indeed, but I honestly believe this is the year things come together.

BB,

I ended up picking up "Black List," by Brad Thor. Really recommend it. In fact, liked it so much that I dropped by the city's library and checked out two more of his books. They are all linked together. Meaning, that stories continue after a cliffhanger on the last page.

Recommended for: Tom, dukey, Jimbo, Naples.

Not so much for those of you who don't watch FOX.

We'll be lucky to go 8-8.

You won't get this side of the story from pop-media. Much easier being a sheep.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebu6Yvzs4Ls

From your mouth to God's ear, Sflafan.

Oye nalga, make sure that you check the oil on old Woody will ya. She doesn't like to be left high and dry. It doesn't have to be Pennzoil or anything fancy, I think I left you almost a full quart of Pep Boys rot gut in the back.

I remember Jeffrey when he was a wee little alter boy in my congregation...

Father, now he's going to be fat slob crying on the steps of the church in your congregation after the Hebs are done with him.

OC is back !!!

Welcome back dude...

fellers,

these divorces get "messier" all the time. tim duncan with a boyfriend living as part of his "household"? his wife must be lovin' that paycheck that tim duncan brings home to go for this set-up. jeez

OC, Don't confuse the "LEFT" With these facts....
It will only confuse the.... You know......
Well you know..

Thanks for the tip OC. I read a book once. It was called MAD Magazine. Very cosmopolitan like...

You know duke the new logo wasn't my idea. Also I believe I'll earn everyones respect and make my daddy FZB proud this season...

Ahh my son is doing so good...brings a tear to me eyes..soon all you infidels will love him too.

Go Dolphins !!!!!!!!!!

OC....

What's a book ?....

FZB did you read the article OC posted? Here is a quote:

"One issue is that pass protection hasn’t been good. Tannehill often looks rushed in the pocket when Miami’s defensive front seven is bringing the heat."

http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/61467/miami-dolphins-stock-watch

Let me repeat that "pass protection hasn't been good"!

Tannehill has all the tools in place to move to the next level EXCEPT a quality OL that can protect him. If Tannehill fails, your BONEHEAD son Jeff Ireland will be to blame.

FZB

Do you have a love child that the family does not know about? Wait until I tell Mom that you have another son named Jeff Ireland. Get ready viejo, you're sleeping under the starts tonight.

Stars...
stupid auto correct

OJ Simpson at his parole hearing:

Hey OJ you murdering POS do you ever think about what Nicole Brown, Ron Goldman and their families miss? Please do us all a favor and STFU. No one cares what you missed.

Oye Cote, did you see this story in your own fish wrap? Looks like even a stiffer like you might be involved with this steroids business. If we followed what you clowns are advocating and handed out suspensions from work to everyone on the juice only Bob Costas and Dan Patrick would be around to make sure that the lights stay on.

http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/07/26/3522364/biogenesis-whistleblower-calls.html

Tannehill will be very good I think.

Way better than that crap NFL QB Ron Jaworski who voted him 24th it seems most see a high ceiling for him except people who I don't care about (Simms, Jaworski, Lombari is a joke of a talent evaluator.

He'll be right there with the other QB's in his draft class this season.

Boys, it's looking like 8-8 maybe 7-9 and if they stick with Tannehill when he struggles maybe even 6 - 10. And that's if the team doesn't quit on "Mr. Burns" as he continues to require the picking up of candy wrappers and cigarette butts from the practice facility parking lot.

If the OL provides good protection for Tannehill I think the Dolphins will compete for the division with the Patriots. On the other hand, if the OL sucks as a lot of people expect them to do then Woody is right with even 8-8 being a reach.

On another topic, Belichick is an asshole. He refused to acknowledge the obvious about the his decision to draft Hernandez......Belichick doesn't give a chit about the character of his players.

I am adding you to the list of talent evaluators who I don't care about Woodcock you're out to lunch.

Shadow little Big Baby is sticking with 7 or 8 wins for NE from the mouth of babes to God's ears.

This Dolphins team could have a Top 5 or 10 defense if the secondary improves we gave up WAY too many big plays on the back end last year it was brutal.

Anyone who isn't looking forward to watching this offense this season doesn't have a heart beat I can't recall a Doplhins team having this many weapons in a LONG time.

I see our friend dasi voted 9 times for tannehill to be great.
so tell me BB, what QBs opiniom on tannehill do you take as gospel, pennington? So you think he will be just as good as the big 3 this year. What have you seen that everybody has missed on this guy? He is what he is until he does something, and that is he is nothing better then the 24th ranked qb going into this season.

Worry about your own team Naples they look to be a train wreck right now.

Weapons? OK, lets take a look at the Dolphins offense.

QB: Tannehill second year guy hasn't shown chit. Weapon?

RB: Kid from Miami and Mr. Paper Mache who sucked to high heaven last year. Weapon?

WR: That white boy from Ohio State who couldn't catch a cold at the Jackson Memorial influenza ward. This guy Wallace from Pittsburgh who last year scored a grand total of 52 fantasy points and who has dropped more balls in his career than Madona has dropped her drawers. And now we signed the original "Oops I dropped it guy" from the Rams. I have friends here in LA who are still die hard Ram fans who would have walked to St. Louis last year just to punch that fish Gibson in the face for dropping 5 yard passes. Weapons?

TE: Traded for some stiff from the freaking Jets. Another paper mache guy. Has been hurt every single year that he's been in the pros and that's when his body was still young and healthy. A second year wasted high draft pick who might, just might, be able to get a job at Sears after the Fish cut him. And some kid named Simms who after he finds out how good Cuban food tastes will be weighing as much as the last Simms that we had on the O line when Marino was here. Weapons?

And last but not least....The O Line: Need I say more.

Weapons? What weapons, BB?

BB, you need to settle down and put some Zoloft in your Kool Aid. Google the Joe Montana 49rs if you need a reminder of what a team loaded with weapons looks like.

After 5 seasons in the NFL, #1 pick broken down jake long is gone from miami. #3 Matt ryan, (franchise qb), signs a new contract for 103mill.As a Pats fan, thank god he is in atlanta, and not miami. The early reports on tannehill, are not to bright. This guy from ESPN Walker, is a south Florida guy to boot.

I didn't see much from Tan last year and I watched, unfortunately, every single game on Directv. Kid looks like he's ok but certainly not the next coming by looking at his body of work. Is he a capable NFL QB, yea, probably, if you put him in a stacked team with a great O line and some all pros who have been to the dance he probably can win some games for you. But is he going to lead this band of rag tag stiffs that we have on offense to the promised land this year? Not likely.

Woodcock those are supposed to be 3 martini lunches not breakfast.

LOL

Nice BB. But I'd rather be drinking my shaken not stirred than the Kool Aid some of you guys are drinking.

Good luck with Glass Joe aka Danny Amendola and Jake Ballard this season Naples that is one sucky offense you have there.

I see Tannehill a little differently. I think he has an opportunity to be very good. He's got talent. The problem is the window of opportunity for him is short, 3-4 years max. If Ireland does not provide Tannehill with all the tools he needs to be successful he may fail for reasons unrelated to his talent. He is not Tom Brady. Brady would be great on any team. Tannehill is more like Bob Griese. Griese was good on a very good team but just ok when the talent level declined.

The OL is the key. The OL!

Hey Shad, looks like your alma matter's malaise from the football program has spread to the entire school. Did you see where the Feds are investigating USC for civil rights violations after five of the six black students on campus who are not on the football or basketball teams filed a discrimination complaint against the university? Man, it's beginning to look more and more like SC is nothing more than a rich white man's plantation surrounded by a sea of Mau Maus.

Yea sure, BB, they have one of the best O lines in the business a HOF QB and they have a posy of dependable running backs, with one of the best coaches in the biz but they are going to suck on O.

They're going to need those RB's because they are garbage everywhere else.

*not including their whiny, pretty boy QB.

If in real estate it's all about location-location-location, then for the Dolphins it's OL-OL-OL. A mad scientist could clone an amalgamation of UnitasMarinoBrady and reap the same results as starting Greg Cote as QB, without an OFFENSIVE LINE.

Sherman and Philbin are moving the team into a zone-blocking scheme, where quickness and finesse are required. Regardless of anyone's - positivo or negativo - no one can base and cite their views based on experience. They are UNPROVEN.

Right now Mike Pouncey is about the only guy a Dolfan could feel remotely content about. At the guard position, the best fit for that quick ability is Lance Louis, who is coming off knee surgery. After him, we've got Jerry and Incognito, both power type guys. Neither are ideal for the style the team aims to attack from. So that leaves the new guy - Dallas Thomas. A rookie.

On the Tackle side of things, we've got Tyson Clavo. Experienced test, but will too be asked to adapt to that zone-blocking scheme. Then you have...pause for effect....TAT-DA-DA!!!! Jonathan Martin. A guy who showed sufficiently last year ineptitudes bound to have Tannehill constantly looking over his shoulder.

Package all the above with that lack of cohesion that can ONLY come from working together...for more than just preseason and that can only spell disaster. Oh, but wait. It gets worse. It just so happens that Miami's first month and a half worth of schedule is arguably against some of the best teams in the league!!!!

Put me in with the Tom and Woodcock camp, boys.

Well said, OC. Word, brother.

Now, BB, having said all that, the flip side is the defense. They played very well last year and this year seams to have gotten stronger. If the offense can just hold on to the ball and take advantage of some field positions provided by good defensive plays and that fish Carpenter can return to form (a freaking kicker in the draft, really? Oye FZ, your son must have been recovering from the anvil that fell on his head when he pulled the lever on a freaking field goal kicker in the draft) we should be in a lot of games and have an outside chance of finishing with a winning record.

The Dolphins secondary struggled last year on its way to being burned for 3,974 passing yards and 60 pass plays of 20 yards or more.

That's not playing very well Woodcock and Wallace put up 129 fantasy points last year you weren't even close.

greeting's to my boy FZB-jr on his post of 8:17 am today...boy don't get me in trouble with Mom..hehe

Hey Cote...as much as I love T-Hill how in the hell does anyone know how a player is going to turn out?

that's a stupid poll

alright Woody, you're in dangerous "negativo" territory, Tom, OC too...chit we haven't even played the first "fake" game and you guys already are saying we're going to have a losing season?

10-6 boys...and in contention for the playoffs, yeah I said it...book it

BB..I sure hope you don't get contaminated wiht all these "negativos".

our defense will be much improved this year both against the run and pass, the key will be our pass rush, you can't complete too many passes if your QB is on his ass.

Maybe in your league, in mine he barely busted over the 50 point mark. The team to watch this year is the Steelers. They picked the player who will help any team the most in this past draft in that kid from Mich State who will be a card carrying stud on that offense.

the season is not over...

was it over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor?

FZ, I love your optimism. Even if this guy was assigned in protecting Tannehill's blind side.

http://static3.depositphotos.com/1001857/141/i/950/depositphotos_1414313-Skinny-Man.jpg

...you still find ways to believe.

what kind of lame league is that Woodcock 50 points on a 16 game season dude the guy had over 800 yards receiving with 8 td's you need a new league that one sucks.

I'm blaming "pragmatico Tom" for this wave of negativism today, do doubt instigated by Anti...he's always to blame.

I'm still upset with him for running young Potter off the blog.

the Sun Sentinel is reporting that fat John Jerry is out with an injury, hope is nothing serious.

OC...all I'm saying you guys are a bit premature here, you guys could be right in saying the OL will have major problems but all of U's could be wrong also..

no?

it's either Jerry or Louis at RG FZ hope it isn't anything serious either since Louis looks like a reclamation project at this point maybe the rookie Thomas will be playing sooner rather than later.

this for all of U's that play fantasy football, so you pick players from every team and then you root for those players to do good against the Dolphins..

WTF ?

It's easier not to root just check the standings and hope the Fins won despite another player going off on them.

Tricky business it is though.

Maybe the league will allow Tannehill to throw perched from within the turret of a Tiger tank.

Confidence very high with Tannehill so far looks like we have some bright football minds visiting this site (no not you Woodcock).

BB, didn't you see my Woodcock is a freaking genius post?

I bet you guys that the Dukes-Ter doesn't play fantasy football..

ok..let's examine the OL for a minute here...

J Martin--the question mark, sure I agree he could be bad but I'm not going to assume he's going to be a turnstile either, he is back to his natural position and I'm confident he will improve as the year goes on, its not like the guy is another Columbo out there.

R Incognito-solid vet, anyone has any worries on this guy?

M Pouncey-one of the top centers in the NFL

fat John Jerry-average but he did play all 16 games last year and was far from horrible however we do need to find a long term answer there, Dallas Thomas anyone?

Clabo-very, very good RT, a solid vet, was let go because of his salary not his play..

over all is a solid line, not every team has the 72 Dolphins offensive line out there, we be fine.

FZB

I said if the OL plays well, the Dolphins will compete with the Patriots. That's saying a lot because Miami really sucked last year. But the new additions are good. That said, all the good of this off-season will be for naught if the OL does not do a credible job. However, there is a lot of uncertainty with respect to the OL. Quite frankly, Ireland could have done a lot to reduce that uncertainty by addressing the LT position. He chose not to. If the OL fails he'll be out of the NFL permanently before the beginning of next season.

Oh on another topic, ff OJ Simpson.
