G4: Heat 88, Bulls 65: Miami owns night, up 3-1; plus name Heat's biggest rival (poll; vote now!), '14 NFL draft, Sad-O-Meter, Jackmerius Tacktheritrix & more

Yes, it's Radio Tuesday: I'll be back in-studio with Le Batard and Stugotz starting at 3 today on 790 the Ticket and FM 104.3, even though, frankly, I'm dog-tired after a late night and early flight back from Chicago.

1) It is TUESDAY, MAY 13. New blogpost coming later today if I can, or early Wednesday. 2) Big Sunday for Tiger Woods fans like me, with his victory at The Players Championship and his adversary Sergio Garcia's embarrassing late collapse. 3) Hope all you good Ma's had a nice Mother's Day! 4) In The Previous Blogpost (ITPB): Heat G3 win, return of Good Job Good Effort Kid, Heat aviary update, Palm Beach Dolphins, Super Bowl bid, Maxim Hot 100. 5) Join us on Twitter @agregcote.

LeBron earns defensive honor: NBA named LeBron James to its all-league defensive first team for fifth straight season. Other forward is OKC's Serge Ibaka. Guards are Memphis' Tony Allen and Clips' Chris Paul. Center was a tie between Knick Tyson Chandler and raging Bull Joakim Noah. No second-team Heaters. Shane Battier and Dwyane Wade got a couple of honorable-mention votes each.

Chicago redux: Back in Chicago Monday, I paid $49.95 fee for early check-in. Won't ever stay in this Unnamed Rattrap again. On a positive note, on my full Southwest flight, one of only two empty seats on the entire plane was the middle next to me. I credit that to either dumb luck or my ability to secrete a skunk-like stink.

G4: HEAT 88, BULLS 65: SMOTHERING DEFENSE CARRIES MIAMI: LeBron James had 27 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds last night in Chicago, but the story was a defensive effort that limited the Bulls to 65 points on abysmal 25.7 percent shooting. Miami now with a commanding 3-1 series lead heading back to Miami Wednesday night for Game 5. The other big story of the night, for me, was the state of Dwyane Wade, working on a shaky right knee and held to six points. Wade's performance the rest of this postseason could be a key to Miami repeating. I explore in THIS COLUMN from Chicago off last night's victory. ..... Original post: Swing Game as defined by me: Miami wins tonight for 3-1 series lead heading back home 1aa1bullsheatand the chance of a nice, neat, quick five-games series becomes extremely likely. Miami loses tonight to even things and suddenly the chance of a full seven-game series looms large. Bulls then will be 1aa1g4playing for their playoff lives in Game 4, realistically. But talent and health trump intangibles and home court, so I like the Heat once again. The return for Chicago of Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich again seems unlikely, and the return of Derrick Rose seems even more fanciful. Health frustration has got to be the root of Chicago's spate of technical fouls, three ejections and two league fines in this series -- the most recent a 35K slap to Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau for implying the officials want the Heat to win. Poor Tom sounds like he's expecting the opposite treatment and sympathy for his injuries. Doesn't work that way. Even fully healthy, Chicago would be a clear underdog to the champs. Chitown has no answer for LeBron James. The better team almost always wins in a seven-game series. And the better team -- the much better team -- is winning this one. As expected.

WHO IS HEAT'S BIGGEST RIVAL?: I've always been interested in what constitutes any team's biggest rival. 1aa1kg 1aa1slee 1aa1jkSometimes it isn't an easy call. I don't think it is with the Heat; hence, a blog poll! For me the answer used to be Knicks without much question (is it still?), then it sort of became Celtics (is it still?). Or is it Bulls now? It isn't just this current series that resumes Monday with Heat leading 2-1; Miami has faced Chicago in the postseason more than any other opponent. "Biggest rival" is a lot about gut feeling. So when I say, "The Heat's biggest rival is...", you say what? Vote now and say why.

MIAMI'S BRIDGEWATER PEGGED 2ND IN '14 DRAFT: ESPN's Mel "It's Never Too Early" Kiper is out with his 1aa1bridgetfirst top 25 "Big Board" for the 2014 NFL draft, and it is led by South Carolina DE Jadevon Clowney, followed by Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater (pictured), the Miami-born former Northwestern Bull. No Canes, but four other state-school players in Gators CB Loucheiz Purifoy (10th), Seminoles DT Timmy Jernigan (15th), Noles OT Cameron Erving (19th) and USF DE Aaron Lynch (25th). Also of note, slotted 25th: Texas A&M QB and Heisman winner Johnny Manziel (should he enter the draft, of course).

UPDATED MARLINS' SAD-O-METER: We have this new blog feature we update as long as Marlins' winning percentage 1aa1bbsadis under .300 -- as long as the New York Mets' infamous 1962 record of 40-120 (.250) is within dubious reach. Well, two straight losses have brought the S-O-M back. Updated Sad-O-Meter: Current record, 11-27 (.289). Season projection, 46.89 wins, 115.11 losses.

HAVE YOU MET JACKMERIUS TACKTHERITRIX?: Love the comedy duo Key & Peele, and especially love 1aa1kpeeletheir spoof of football player introductions with a parade of increasingly ridiculous names. Click HERE to watch and listen. With one notable exception all of the names made fun of belong to African-American "players." Key & Peele also are black. Had this same video been done by a white comic I wonder if he'd have come under fire for making fun of blacks? I'm just asking!

Click back. Will be updating/adding much more to this newest blogpost later today ...

Chicago is one-way rivalry.

Celtics until further notice.

Haha, I think the Knicks already served notice - time to flush that turd down the drain.

You could say Miami had a rivalry with the Celtics the past couple years or that they have a rivalry going with the Bulls or even the Mavericks.

Knicks are Miami's only 'real' rival, and it hasn't been much of a rivalry since the '90s.

'None of the above' would probably win this poll, the Heat don't really have a rival.

They are killing Hillary and Obi on the Sunday morning news shows with a blow torch. Just crushing them. I'm laughing my ass off. And now they're putting the IRS' feet to the fire for screwing those Teabaggers and it gives the good guys even more shit to throw against the wall.

Gotta love it.

That bitch, Diane Feinstein is on Meet the Press lying her ass off. Every time she opens her trap green vile comes out and her head spins 360 degrees around her shoulders. I have to admit that Linda Blair looked a lot better doing that than this cunt.

Obi, should have retired Butch Hillary, sent her off as a personal emissary to the court of Cuntstantinople and handed her a gold watch and a strap on and sent her on her way......

Damn Woodcock, why don't you tell us how you feel, roflmao!

started talking again, (barely), on tuesday. getting better every day..

Happy Mother's Day Mom. At least I'm not Lil Wayne so yah got that goin' for you...

Real David how could you be so harshly judgemental of Spiro Agnew when he was clearly related to Spuds McKenzie. Take close look at both their pics for further clarification...

The Knicks.

A Rivalry Isn't A Rivalry Til Punches Are Thrown.

I Know They No Longer Fight In The NBA. But The Knicks Rivalry Is The Only Real Rival The Heat Have Ever Had.

The Bulls Are Not A Rival. I Just Wish Someone Would Whoop Noah Already! I'm Tired Of This Big Mouth Punk!

The Celtics Are Old. And Playing Someone Hard 2 Seasons Doesn't Equal Rivalry.

And Key & Peele Are Hilarious. They Are Half And Half So They Get Away With Jokes Others Can't. On Both Sides Of The Spectrum. Regardless Of That, Most Of Their Sketches Are Just LOL Funny. Obama And Luther Are Some Of My Favorites.

The Boston Celtics is biggest rival.

Chicago Bulls and their classless coach Thibba duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh are the lowest class team in the NBA.THEY don t play basketball but about half the time. The other half they push, hold, grab, trip, cry, moan, cheat and make the ugliest faces like they need to do a BM just like their vinegar-drinking coach.Chicago is all losers and LOSERS MAKE EXCUSES Only 4 games left Bulls and you MUST win 3 of them.Ain t happeneing. You ain t good enough.GO HEAT.

FZB,

nothing the beatles ever recorded comes near "gimme shelter" or "i can see for miles" or "baba o'reilly" for that matter. they didn't tour and wrote good and sometimes great POP songs, but they aren't in the top five of rock and roll groups. sorry

More shooting deaths at a parade in LA according to Happy Happy FUN FUN Newz. Guess I'll go back to hiding my head in the beautiful white sands of Siesta Key...

Sorry La...

Hmm my bad. Apparently none of those hit are expected to code blue...

david in real LA,

Glad to hear your hysterectomy went well.

As usual Woodcock is accurate & to the point.

Hola guys, wheeew..just got back from Cinderella's castle..it was hot , it was muggy, there were a ton of people but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, the missus and I had a great time with our two kids and four grandkids...

David in lala...so happy you're doing better my liberal amigo, health problems need to be taken care of right away, I'm sure I speak for everyone here in wishing you a complete recovery.

Later...

I'm perplexed as to why Miley Cyrus on previous thread isn't nude and pinching one of her big ole ariolas while diddling her Clitosaurus Rex...

Duke you're one sick f*** even if you are an American! That's one floride ravaged brain soldier!

Yeah what duke said regarding Miley Cyrus's Clitosaurus Rex. I'd really like to know...

No offense to the little philly but I bet dollars to doughnuts you could fit a C-5A in her cargo hold...

Isn't that so Anti? I mean we all know you've had alittle experience negotiating cargo holds. Plus you have a physics backround if I'm not mistaken...

Major, I concur with your hypothesis re: Ms. Cyrus,I'am sure you can load a huge cannon n that cago hold.
We nust first get Jimbo's take on the cannon though, He is a War vet you know.More knowlegeable.
Jimbo. What say you?

More Benghazi noise from Maureen Dowd well-known right wing hack at the New York Times.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/12/opinion/sunday/dowd-when-myths-collide-in-the-capital.html?_r=1&

I firmly believe Miley's cargo bay could withstand 88mm Rupp steel anal beads! (look up Rupp steel as reference on grade & strength) We would need to conduct surveilance and recon the area. "Lock and Load Platoon, were expecting action tonight!"
You could post her outside Naples Italy Naval base and wait for hundreds of US Sailors hitting that on shore leave..... NOW THAT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES.

very concerning Tom. The media (outside Fox) is set on making this current President appear god like or similar legendary Franklin, Lincoln, Washington. The first black President will not go down in history for what he really is but false accolades. Nobel Peace Prize? for? I have never seen an American get a free pass like this man has. Not even Bill Clinton who the media adored got a pass. IMO the worst President in modern era is made to look like an all time top 10 in history.

I emailed Cody 2 pictures a while back to post on here & he never did... 1. I was standing in front of a King Tiger & directly underneath it's 88 canon & 2. the other was me chugging a large beer at Munich's Oktoberfest. Guess he had better material to work with.

oops. sorry Greg, meant Coty not Cody

Het Noco....k I thought this was a sports blog. Oh I forgot you dont know anything about sports either. Now we know you dont know anything about politics either.

IRS reveals they are targeting right leaning organizations. NBC NEWS headline:

"IRS Scandal is Huge Gift to GOP"

http://www.nbcnews.com/

The gift is the slow response of the Obama administration to the scandal. Not the fact that the IRS was targeting conservative groups.

Yeah for the lamestream media that sounds about right. But then again this IRS story is really just IRS NOISE.

The voting is close knuckleheads and hey didn't Boston beat Miami in the playoffs a few short years ago?

Knicks have won exactly one playoff series in 15 years they have been a laughingstock team for at least that long.

The Ray Allen move sealed the deal chuckleheads hope the Heat lose every game.

Haha, about all you need to know about Benghazi is that Glenn Beck is the only one nuts enough to even put suggest what the conspiracy could be. From the man who brought you such hits as '9/11 was an inside job' and 'the Boston Marathon bombings were an inside job', it's: 'Benghazi!'.

Boston isn't good enough to be Miami's 'rival', they were competitive for LeBron's first two years here and now they need to blow up their team and rebuild.

It was fun while it lasted.

Nice article/video on Daniel Thomas, I think he's going to be the guy, Miller is a home run hitter who has a lot of negative plays.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/dolphins-blog/sfl-can-daniel-thomas-lead-the-dolphins-ground-game-20130513,0,3482824.story

Having Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, Sullinger, Avery Bradley is not a terrible place to be that's not "blowing it up".

If they can get some value by possibly trading Pierce or Garnett and maybe move Jason Terry and Courtney Lee for something then there is a chance they could rebuild without "blowing it up".

Knicks have sucked for so long I am surprised anyone voted for them.

Knicks last won a championship when in 1973?

They are an irrelevant franchise.

Would you be surprised to see the Dolphins poll come back Jets instead of Pats?

The question is 'which is the bigger rival', not 'which is the better franchise'.

Heat don't have a rival, closest thing we have is the Knicks.

190 people disagree with you.

The rest think it's 1998.

398 people disagree with you.

You must think it's 2010, Boston hasn't beaten Miami in the playoffs since LeBron got here, they were a nice side-story for the Miami Heat for two years and now they're done.

I would rather be stuck in 2010 with a relevant vote than in 1998 with a throwaway one the Bulls really people?

More "Benghazi noise" from the radical "conservatives" at the "New Yorker".

http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/newsdesk/2013/05/benghazi-cia-talking-point-edits-white-house.html?mobify=0

Well let's see....Obama's lost the Maureen Dowd, the New Yorker, ABC on Benghazi. Oh wait, Obama's even lost the the always loyal, propaganda-tastic AMessNBC

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=iz2PLb2phcQ

Yeah it's joist noise. Obama dropped the ball, 4 Americans died and Obama then covered it up to keep it from Americans before the election. Sadly, much like Richard Nixon in 1972, with a compliant media he was successful.

Huh? People are voting for the Bulls because we played them in the ECF, are playing them right now, and they're poised to be the biggest challenger in the East moving forward.

Nothing to do with 1998, Bulls are more relevant as rivals than Boston.

Of course neither are really rivals, nor are the Knicks.

Haha, BENGHAZI!!!

Yeah maybe the Bulls someday can win more than one game in a playoff series against Miami but I doubt it.

Historically, I'd say that the Knicks are the only TRUE rival to the Heat. The past couple years, it's really been Boston because of the playoff matchups and the intensity of last year's Easter Conf Finals

WARRIORS GIVEN LIFE BY NBA (REFS):

two out of bounds calls that were visibly belonging to the spurs, one under each basket, gave the warriors the chance for an overtime. the one under the warriors basket, 100% off the hand of harrison barnes, was in typical playoff fashion absurd. as much as i root for the warriors, i don't exult in "get us a seventh game" moves by those associated with the NBA. two ridiculously easy calls, neither of which warranted going to the monitor because that would have meant spurs ball. the hack announcers are told to shut up by their employers. another few more reasons to love "nba entertainment.

wow shadow I didn't expect you to be an NBA referee conspiracy theorist props to your Warriors.

If I am Sergio I would rather have an embarrassing late golf collapse than an embarrassing late life collapse.

Sergio's will prove easier to overcome.

Go Sergio fight the power!

Nice job by this Canadian astronaut. Thin falsetto and all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc8BcBZ0tAI

Sergio has already won at TPC anyway he needs to win a Major in order to escape criticsm or he will end up like Monty a truly great golfer who never won the big one.

I've been following that guy on Twitter, his videos have been awesome!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bCoGC532p8

shadow,

With all due respect, I submit the following Beatles song as being ...ahem, Miles and miles and miles...better. In fact, the whole album was so revolutionary when introduced that The Beach Boys, upon hearing it, were rumored to have gone into deep depression over their immediate realization that their own sound had lived its time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-Q9D4dcYng

...The Beatles were simply the most talented, creative, influential, transformative, prolific musical group of our time. They were not "rockers" so comparisons to The Who or The Stones are inappropriate.

...it would be like saying that this incredibly brilliant song was less than the any of songs its own song title shares with the group : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk3mAX5xdxo

Bring up the Beatles and it's FZB and OC versus Woodcock and the world but not one person disputed my claim that Derek and the Dominoes were a better band than Cream.

OC I think the Beatles were very influential but I would like to dispute you assertion about them being the most talented musical group.

That distinction belongs to The Rolling Stones.

Only to folks who are 5 or 6 years younger, BB. Otherwise, The Cream > Derek and the chips.

Ok there'e one opinion on Cream versus Derek however misguided as it is!

OC I am 42 and Derek blows away Cream age doesn't matter I have the same ears you have.

Can't agree with you on that, BB. Show me where any of the Stones produced anything individually. McCartney, Lennon, Harrison all produced significant music individually.

No, my ears are nearly 16 years older. It's kinda like wine:)

make that 17 years.

Jaggers solo albums were very good and no one in the Beatles was as good a musician as Keith Richards.

Please...

Dems the facts.

You and FZB can gang up on me all you want too and I won't change that opinion.

What'up guys,

Boys, like OC just said, the Beatles were the most influential , innovative musicians in the last 50 years, they took over from the king ( Elvis ) and took pop, music, rock etc to another level..whether someone is a fan or not is not my point to argue but as music pioneers they are unmatch by any other band..to quote Anti, without the fab 4 there is no Floyd,Stones, The Who, U2, etc, etc, ...(sorry shadow) .

BB, Cream and Derek & the dominoes had one essential , sir Eric and I think most people just think they were basically the same band ( wheter it was the right assumption or not ) .

The C's and the The Heat had a great rivalry for a couple of years, Knicks ?..sure, a while a go but not in the last ten years..I guess the Bulls / Heat is getting there, will see...

OC and Kaz, thanks for posting that astronaut's vedio..it was great..

OC, Sgt. Pepper's , man that was an album, its amazing what they did there, changed their whole style ..

BB,

Stop it amigo, Jaggers and Richards better musicians than Lennon, Sir Paul and the Great late George Harrison?.... What !!!!! ??????. hhhmmmm I get it now , it must be a joke right?

Look, I admit my judgement is slanted to anything Beatles but come on man !, really?

Your argument over which is the best band reminds me of the movie Summer Rental with John Candy (Jack) and Rip Torn (Skully).

Jack: "You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong."
Skully: "I'm trying to tell you that as a fighter, pound for pound, my boy Jimmy Cagney will disintegrate your Sylvester Stallone. He'll knock his block off."
Jack: "In a street fight, maybe. Yes. I give you that. But not in a movie. Especially not with todays cinemanatic advancements. It's technologically impossible."

Tom, are you chiming in from europe?

FZB, let me get this straight, without the Beatles the Stones wouldn't have existed? Didn't they start out at the same time, only the Beatles gained popularity quicker. The Stones didn't want to be a pop music - commercial band, they wanted to be different & they were. I'm saying Bullshirt.

Short opinion: The Beatles were great for about a 6 year period until they quit in 1970. The Beatles wrote consistantly good stuff that made the top 10 often. The Rolling Stones put out sheer volume,,, 50 yrs of song writing by Richard/Jagger,,, big range of type of music from pop, blues, punk, reggae, disco, psychadelic, folk, rock n roll, gospel. The Stones put out some garbage - Dirty Work, half of Emotional Rescue - put out a ton of good & 10 times more excellent stuff than the Beatles. If the Beatles would have stayed together that would a whole different argument.

Floyd, Zep, Cream, Who & other 60 - 70's bands are in the rearview mirror when compared to the 2 giants.

Another Top band with a limited amount of music written is The Eagles. Hotel California & The Long Road are hard to beat top to bottom. Every song is quality.

The argument that the former Beatles did great on their own doesn't hold water. McCartney's Wings had one or two songs that were OK. Ringo had nothing. Harrison had 4-5 songs that got any serious play time on the radio. They F'd their careers because they hated each other.

I am. Sitting in my room in Brussels. Too damn tired to go out. Spent the day in Gent. Nice city. It's almost 8 in the evening here.

I didn't think they had internet in Europe...

Jimbo well put and nice observation on The Eagles Hotel California one of the all time great ones it's on my Top 5.

Yes the Europeans have internet.......thanks to Al Gore of course.

Wings had more than 1 or 2 good songs but you are giving George more credit 4 or 5 songs might be a reach.

Here's the audio of the argument between Skully and Jack on who is the best fighter, Cagney or Stallone.

OJ Simpson in Las Vegas courtroom to ask for new trial

******

I guess he is wanting to be retried for cutting the heads off Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown. That's the only trial he's been involved in where there's been an injustice.

Tom,

Don't tell anyone you are a "americano" ..just say you're name is Antonio and you're from Spain..also don't forget to check out the chocolate shops they have , best chocolate you ever tasted..

Jimbo, yes of course those other bands would have existed but what the Beatles did show everyone that there was more than a guitar and a set of drums available that they could tap into, that's all...I do agree with U on the Eagles, great band.

Tom,

I think they also have a beer tasting tour..maybe that's more up your alley..he,he.

Come on, Jimbo. Give a second look to what Lennon did by himself. Imagine, Mind Games, #9 Dream, Give Peace a Chance. Some of those were not only great successful songs, but battle cries of a generation.

...and George Harrison? 4 or 5 songs of any significance!? Well, pretty insignificant when your buddies and everyone you've touched plays you tribute.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWThQOINe9k

Shoot 88mm Krupp steel anal beads. Krupp steel is the hardest material known to man. And 88mm shells are just long enough to reach both sidez of her stretched out butthole. Good work Group Captain Jimbo. I believe we have a winning formula for ah.. for.. Just what is it we want to accomplish with this philley's a**? My ole grey memory ain't what it used to be, ain't what it used to be...

I would rather take one penny of every song written, performed, played, replayed then re-generated by other artists, including symphonies and muzak, from those of the Beatles collectively and individualistically, then allow you to do the same by those of The Stones.

I dare say that at the time the accounting ends, I would buy you out.

BB,

here are a couple of Harrison's songs you may have missed.

Springsteen says the Stones are the most influential I agree with him.

Instant Karma going to get you! Gonna knock you right on the head.

Springsteen is a commie. Never believe a commie.

Lennon was a better songwriter than he was a musician.

Thanks FZB I like those songs.

Big Baby- The only rival the dolphins have are the jets. the only rival the Pats have, are the jets, or the team payton is on now. Colts were big rivals at one time.

OC I don't like his politics either but he's a superstar talent.

BB, that Traveling Wilbury's - Handle With Care was a great song. Loved that collaboration. Roy Orbison was the perfect addition!
