Super Bowl shutout for Miami! Do you care much? Poll. Vote!; plus fishing with Lauren T., Heat-Pacers poll result, Chicago pays for lost bet & more

1) It is WEDNESDAY, MAY 22. Condolences and thoughts to the victims and loved ones of the terrible Oklahoma tornado tragedy. 2) In The Previous Blogpost (ITPB): Yapping Frank Vogel, Heat-Pacers series preview, MIA-IND poll, Sad-O-Meter. 3) Apparently Reshad Jones has showed up at Dolphins camp. OH THANK GOD!! 4) Join us on Twitter @gregcote.

Me on Instagram: User name is Upsetbird in case anyone wishes to follow. Photos will be partly personal, partly work-related, occasionally embarrassing, mostly unneccesary.

"Our players' names." -- Pacers coach Frank Vogel, when asked on 790 The Ticket what was the most unknown thing about his team.

Poll glitch: Note, more than 150 of the first votes cast in the Super Bowl poll below do not appear in the results shown below. However, we have them and they'll be included in the final results reported. The results that do not appear were 52 votes for "very important," 30 votes for "somewhat important" and 69 votes for "not important unless Dolphins are in it." Keep voting. Thanks.

SOUTH FLORIDA RESIDENTS (FANS) REALLY CARE THAT MUCH ABOUT HOSTING A SUPER BOWL?: [Miami loses to Santa Clara for SB 50 and to Houston for SB 51, as expected] Original post: Games will be awarded today at 2 p.m., live on NFL Network] Dolphins executives and South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee folks are in Boston today for the NFL league vote on awarding Super Bowls 1aa1sb5050 and 51, the 2016 and '17 games. Santa Clara, CA/49ers is a huge favorite to defeat Miami/Dolphins for the prestigious Golden Anniversary game. The loser (almost certainly us) will then face Houston/Texans for the other game. Miami is more competitive for thatone, but I'd guess Houston wins it after the Dolphins spent the past several months complaining how we'd never get another SB without stadium renovations, which were rejected. (Sounds like a self-fulfilling prophecy). These votes are very important to the Dolphins and to the local business and tourism communities; hotels and major restaurants have a vested interest. But how important are these votes to you? To the average citizen or fan? I wonder about about that. I think SoFla cares intensely that the Dolphins are in another Super Bowl, but not so much whether the game is played here or not. Am I right? Tell me, and the Dolphins. Vote and say why.

1aa1laurenfish 1aa1laurenfishFISHING WITH LAUREN TANNEHILL: The recent FinsWeekend annual fundraiser is a major fundraiser for the Miami Dolphins Foundation and this year raised more than $700,000 for local charities. We here at the Random Evidence blog like to support those great causes particularly when it provides an opportunity to run a photo of blog favorite Lauren Tannehil. Part of the event included a fishing tournament, and here Lauren is pictured at left holding a large fish and standing next to quarterback-husband Ryan. It is a beautiful photograph, courtesy the Dolphins. At right, that same photo is made even more beautiful by creative cropping.

1aa1jackbountyUPDATE: CHICAGO SETTLES BET WITH HEAT'S 'GOOD EFFORT KID': Told you during the Heat-Bulls series about a bet involving Chicago radio station WGN and Jack Meyer, 10, of Coral Gables. Jack came to attention in last year's playoffs for consoling players with "Good job! Good effort!" following a loss. The bet: A Chicago deep-dish pizza and 20 Chicago-style hot dogs against a Cadillac from Jack's uncle's dealership. (That's how confident Jack was). He won, of course. The station paid up. The photo is proof.

Poll results: Heat beats Pacers in 6: We asked and you said Heat in 6 games by a 45.4 percent plurality, with Miami winning in 5 games at 33.2%. Much smaller numbers see Heat sweeping in 4 games (5.4%) or winning in 7 games (4.3%). The other 11.9 percent see Indiana winning. Predictably the second-most votes after Florida have come from Indiana, and 88.3% of the overall votes for the Pacers are from that state.

TWO-GAME WIN STREAK THREATENS SAD-O-METER: We have this new blog feature we update as long 1aa1bbsadas Marlins' winning percentage is under .300 -- as long as the New York Mets' infamous 1962 record of 40-120 (.250) is within dubious reach. Well, two straight wins are imperiling the S-O-M. Updated Sad-O-Meter: Current record, 13-32 (.289). Season projection, 46.8 wins, 115.2 losses.

Click back. Will be updating/adding to this latest blogpost...

Tune into NFL Network today at 2pm to see Miami lose it's bid to host a Superbowl.

Not that I care though and why doesn't the NFL kick in some cash to help pay for the Stadium Renovation that Greg Cote thinks we don't need they make what 9 billion dollars annually?

Where's the rest of Mrs. Tannehill, Cote? Holly mackerel, she looks like a skinnier version of Twiggy. Hey TK, what do you think of Mrs. Tannehill?

Dolphins will need Good Job Good Effort kid to fly to Boston today and console Stephen Ross and Mike Dee maybe give them a nice pat on the back for trying.

You white boys have zero idea of what's a good piece of ass.

Hey where's Lil Wayne? I'm really worried about him...

Hmm a woman holding up a large fish. Wonder what the message there is...

duke did you see the 60 minutes story on Lil Wayne a few years back if you haven't seen it look it up.

After seeing it I am worried about him too guy is straight up whack.

It would make great femine hygiene product advertisement...

Mr. Woodcock with those hips she could give birth to a calf sir...

hmm feminine eh...

Anti I still like the one(s) of blonde and brunette students from your class. Big Baby Lil Wayne certainly looks to be the product of years of huffing paint as a teen...

Something tells me if Ryan doesnt have a good game when he gets home he forgets all about it..

http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4690388780582418&pid=1.7

Anti is that a shemale?

he was doing coke when he was like 12 or 13 he said in the interview which means paint at what age 7?

Jeff Ireland suggested he was likely doing crack in the womb...

Duke, Please wear your glasses sir..

Ah actually I have 'em on. She looks like she could bend Krupp steel with those arms and ah 6 pack...

Christ you would need two reinforced spines just so you wouldn't end up in traction after the dastardly deed...

Like I said, Dukey, you white boys have no idea.......

I like comfort as much as the next guy but not a two car garage...

That's because you only need a one car garage to park your VW.

Hey VWs vere goot enough for ze Fuhrer. Zey were ze peoples car up until Germany was destroyed in WW2...

Going to super bowls in Miami is fun but it's not the best city to host them - everything's out on south beach and it's a huge pain for tourists to get to and from the game.

Forget the rotation, super bowl should be in New Orleans every year.

If you take five viagras duke you might turn your vw into a super beetle.

Kevin Durant has pledged 1 million dollars to the American Red Cross for disaster relief that is some serious money good on him.

The kid is a class act, BB. This doesn't surprise me one bit.

Kaz, can you even imagine what a stadium in that Bicentennial Park location would be like? Vistas of the bay, the cruise ships, the downtown Miami skyline. Easy access from expressways, rail, and sea. A three mile long ocean front entertainment district from the Miami River all the way to the Herald Building. Two major stadiums, the symphony hall, Bayside, Bayfront Park, man it would have been the bomb. Oh well. Back to the drawing board.

But Wood, Where would the homeless live?

A three mile long entertainment district from the Miami River to the Herald building?

In what Universe would that happen?

Let's focus instead on getting a Stadium that prevents us from becoming the laughingstock of the league or the LA Dolphins first.

At Bayfront Park where they reside now. Dude, I've thought of everything...

BB, pardon me for saying this, but it is thinking like what you just expressed that led to the Dolphins stadium in Bumfuck and the destruction of the OB to be replaced by that Humpty Dumpty looking monstrosity.

I stayed at a Ho Jo's across from the park a few years ago let's just say it needed slight renovations some of you probably know which one I am talking about.

I also stayed at a hotel near the River and it might have been worse I expected Al Pacino to come busting through the door with an entourage looking for rival gang members.

I've been in the real estate business for 37 years. All I needed to learn was one thing....location, location, location.

Of course, Big Baby, you got hosed. And why? First of all you stayed at Howard Johnson's, come on man. Second you stayed by the Miami River. Pardon me again, but based on your first decision to stay at Howard Johnson's I can tell that you are the one that makes the hotel reservations in your family and not your wife. If she made the reservations you wouldn't have stayed in that Howard Johnson's dump and instead of staying at Chicho's Motel on the river you would have gotten yourselves a suite at the Mandarin Oriental.

If the clowns who run the city of Miami would have spoken to Woodcock about the Woodcock Three Mile Super Duper Entertainment Zone on Biscayne Bay, they would have gotten more juice than they could dream of in ten life times. Heck, I would have greased more palms between Miami and Tallahassee than Kaz puts on his palm in a night of Jergen's and Playboy doing his usual circle jerk maneuver.

I could have used a good travel agent back then there were some nice condos on the River if I remember but we went over a few streets North looking for a CVS and it was scary man real scary.

Really Miami going to SBs & winning would be a heck of alot more fun than hosting The Pats, Ravens, 49ers, Steelers etc etc and watching them win Vinny Trophy in sunny south Fla again...

Couldn't wait to get over to the Port and get the fu*k out of there how about I let you hook me up with hotel advice next time.

The HoJo's was in my younger years no money no kids we were visiting by brother in law at UM I should have just stayed at his apartment on campus spent more time partying there anyway.

Lastly that time was my only trip the old OB saw UM versus Syracuse sat in the student section it rained in sheets the whole time what a great time anyway glad I can say I saw the place what an atmosphere.

I think Boss Ross & Jeffery should offer to jello wrestle in their birthday suits if NFL grantz Joe Robbie Stadium another Vinny Bowl...

FZB, it would be good for these sometimes PR disasterz to show they aren't too "big headed" to "poke" fun at themselves & each other...

Amazing ugly women and grannies are actually porn categories. Alot of men filled to the brim with self-hatred apparently...

Nothing like watching a game at the old OB. Just the basics and you were right on top of the action. If you sat in the lower bowl and you weren't behind a column you were aces. And where else could you buy the cheapest seat in the stadium and muscle in to the fifty yard section where the blue bloods like Kaz, sits and stake out a seat for the entire game.

"Ah, excuse me "sir" but you're sitting in Buffy and my seats." "F..k off, dweeb, or I'll pound you." "Oh dear, Buffy lets move away from these heathens......"

This place isn't exactly downtown San Francisco.

Buffy & Jody...

Wow Miami, By-Passed twice..
Not surprised though, After Idiot Ross and Dee whining like lil girls dosnt surprise me.
I only hope that the super bowl in San Fran brings the San Diego Dolphins a the AFC team..
HEHEHe

Keep dreaming the league would never let it happen.

Guy's here's a true story of mine
Visiting college friend of mine in Oct. of 89 I was in the San Fran geting ready to go down to the local watering hole to watch the World Series game (6pm Start time) while visiting a buddie of mine from college, While in the shower the whole apt. house starting to shake rattle and roll, Not knowing what eactly what was going(Earthquick) on a stumbled out of the shower BUTT NAKED, My friend who was a SFPD came out of his room butt naked too(He worked the mid-night shift and was sleeping) It was a time when having a pot-bellied pig was popular), We ran into each other(But-Naked) And the pig was running around squelling like a pig) And my only thought was "Please god, Dont let me die with a naked man and pig next to me,,:"

Yahoo, Google, and Apple can help build a solar powered Stadium for the Niners and we can't get a fully paved parking lot I don't like where this thing is going especially with Atlanta and Minneapolis already agreeing to build new Stadiums.

BB, I would rather stay in sunny San Diego(Or South Fla) Then be in Minn or Atlanta in the first week of Feb....JMHO though.BTW 've been in all 4 during that time period and South Fla is moe favorable then Minn and Atl.)

I am not talking SB just in general other cities are upgrading the Dolphins aren't.

Funny pig story but I don't have to tell you about how serious that earthquake was seeing pictures and listening to stories about the Bay Bridge was harrowing.

No normal fan can afford to go to the SB these days anyways. As far as impact on the economy, the orange bowl is played every year while the SB would happen once every 4-8 years -- which game do you think has a greater economic impact year-in and year-out? Has the orange bowl committee ever pushed for a new stadium?

The benefits of a SB in S. Florida are waaayyy overblown. I know Joe Rose and all the talking heads and print media guys are playing their homer roles here, but give me a break. Funding a new stadium for the Dolphins with taxpayer money would be a complete boondoggle. The ROI for S. Florida is sketchy at best.

Baby, Again, A true story, Thought of my dead carcass being discovered in San Fan with another Naked Man and a pig would have sent my parents to the grave..

And yeah BB, I cant believe it was 24 years ago...
I'am getting OLD.......

Add another Florida politician to my hate list besides the governor. He was born in Dallas.
The stadium needs renovation anyway. So this was a dumb move in all regards. I'm sure Miami would've gotten 50 and San Fran 51. Living in Houston, I can tell you this city is not where really a place to visit. Can't blame the NFL for Florida's idiocy. It's not so much not getting a super bowl..it's not getting the big one.

I wonder if California's high speed rail (to almost catch up with 1980's France) will be ready in time. Probably not even close. But they got Florida's money..so maybe.

mike1 - what about Joe Robbie needs renovation?

And Big Baby - no one wants a paved parking lot, it's nice having the grass to grill and toss a ball around on.

Not the grassy area that is fine it's the area way out past that towards the highway that is neglected it's like dirt.

Ross screwed this up by being cheap and not using his money to update Joe Robbie Stadium.
I feel bad for all the high class people in quaint Miami Gardens, peaceful Opa Locka, and picturesque Carol City now that the conservatively estimated 41 trillion dollar Super Bowl windfall has been shot down.

Hey Anti...

where you listening to this song in the middle of the earth-quake???

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXdKlpBOvs0

LouSanis,

Ross offered to pay 50% of the renovation and the community pay for the other half , this deal was more than fair since the community was going to greatly benefit because of the money it would bring.

it was a win,win for the team and the city, as for the man being cheap??.. he is a good owner, has spend quite a bit of money this off season on free agents and he wants to win, you sir don't know chit.

Hey Kaz, this is for U...

noʎ ǝʞıl llıʇs ı ʇnq ǝdıʍssɐ uɐ puɐ ssɐ-qɯnp ɐ ǝɹ,noʎ 'zɐʞ ʎǝɥ

Say, Cote, you know how you like to come up with all of these gimmicks like the sad o meter and all that garbage. Well, I have a great idea for you. Why don't you start the annual Dweeb of the Year Award. You can have the blog vote once a year on the day after the baseball all star game, the worst sports day of the year. It would keep interest up on your blog during that dead day. As an award you can have Wholesome Bread bake a special round potato face cake with the words Blog Dweeb and a photograph of Kazamm on the cake to give out to the winner. Of course, Kazaam is ineligible to enter the contest because he's a professional dweeb.

Speaking of dweebs, It's Holsum, not Wholesome. Geez...what an ignoramus.

Since I know it's coming...you can just knead my dough, Woodcock.

Hey Wood's, you think Kaz will ever have a sense of humor or is he going to be an asswipe the rest of his life?.

'Black people will vote for Obama because they're dumb like him'.

What's the joke I'm missing? I'm not easily offended but racism is one of the few things I have no sense of humor about, it speaks to character more than anything else.

I've told 'racist' jokes on here before - Dashi went on for weeks about how I was a racist for saying Jeremy Lin drove to the lane very slowly with his left blinker on.

As long as there's a joke, that's all it is. When there's no joke - you're just saying racist bullish*t.

Educate yourself to this reality:

You ok Kazy?...you seem a bit upset.

So Kazy...you don't think black people ( and white ) were dumb for voting for Obi?...hhmm

Ok, let's see if you like this one better..

What is a Sharks favorite sci-fi show ?

Shark-Trek

Ok, here's one more for you Kazy....

Why are fish so smart ? ....because they live in schools !

Big Baby,

when the vikings and to some degree detroit went inside to play, they gave away their home weather advantage. and yet another stadium for the vikings? this new building every 10 years stuff is getting old and by the time the newbies go up the NFL will be the equvalent of a closed circuit TV leegue, as has been said for years.

'Black people will vote for Obama because they're dumb like him'.

Black people may be dumb for voting democrat. White people may be dumb for voting democrat. Black people may have only voted for Obama because he's black.

Barack Obama is not a dumb man. Black people did not vote for him because 'they're dumb like him'.

And if the christian god was the one out of the thousands of made-up gods that was actually real, there'd be no denying that he murdered 24 people including 9 children for god knows what reason in Oklahoma.

Wouldn't risk sending your prayers, might just piss him off again. Durant's got the right idea:

http://www.redcross.org/charitable-donations

A lot of my customers are black, hispanics ( minorities ) hell I am a minority too and during election time I would on occasion talk a little politics with them and most of them were amazed that I would vote republican and be against Obama...a guy even told me I was a traitor lol.

When I would ask why they would vote for him they would tell me because he was one of their own ( black ) or that Obi was for the little people while Romney was for the rich , when I would pressed them a little on different issues from the economy, unemployment, foreign affairs etc they simply could not tell me or expand on any of the issues, I am not saying black people are dumb or hispanics or any other minorities that voted for him are but most people without a proper education simply follow along the lines of what they hear from the media which is the way liberals win elections now...are they dumb? No but they are ignorant to the truth.

I can guarantee you most blacks voted for Obama because of the color of his skin without looking at the guys track record, what he stood for or the economic plan the guy had ( none) to get our country out of the hole we're in, the same for a lot of hispanics they look at democrats as an easier path to getting govertment help ,what ever happened to hard work and having pride in acomplishing the american dream , no these people that are lazy just want to take the easy way out and the liberals offer them the path of least resistance.

Obviously not all minorities are like this, a lot of them are hard workers and are living the american dream but far too many take the easy way out and the liberals are too happy to comply.

One more thing , Obama is not a dummy, he's proven that, he's won two terms and people still think he's doing a good job..that's the sign of a good con man.

LOL, I thought it was Holsum but it's been so long since I've been to Miami I went with actual word. Kudos to you, Pillsbury whomever you are. You get a one year free pass on the Dweeb award.

All praise to allah that Andrew Wiggens won't be eligible for Cleveland this year...

Lies Kaz.

Agreed. You Said The J.Lin Thing. But Dashi Isn't One To Talk About Racist Jokes. I Drop Them All The Time.

With That Said, Heat In 7.

Kaz, Told You Indiana Was Going To Be The Team We Have To Worry About.

Young, With Size, And Superior Coaching.

The Heat Are The Most Talented Team In The NBA. By A Huge Margin. So They Should Win This Series. Heck, Everyone Has Them Winning The Title.

If The Heat Lose The Series Or Don't Win A Title, Spo Should Get Fired.

I Will Let Any Of These Ladies Hold My Rod Any day. And Twice On Sundays.

Bullshit. Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.

I'm not impressed with people who yap all day. You either walk the walk or you don't.

Racism is when I got here from Cuba after living in a completely integrated society where my best friends were Conejo and Panchulingo two black brothers who lived across the street from me, I got here in 1960 and they had whites and negros only water fountains at Miami Airport.

Give it a rest, junior. You don't have a clue.

nice write up by Armando on the potential of our passing game..

hopefully Chalmers can score more than two pts tonight and our three point shooting shows up..Defense is the key.

So any-who,

I just thought you guys may wanna check out my new girlfriend.

http://www.wallzbucket.com/data/media/100/Sexy_Girl9275.jpg

so the IRS biatch Lois Lerner took the fifth amendment, not surprising ...

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/irs-official-lois-lerner-not-done-anything-wrong-153037583.html

so, when do we impeached Obi again?

I always thought that when you plead the fifth amendmend is because you don't wanna incriminate yourself in a crime, so the question is a crime has been commited, right?

of course Obi will plead a sgt Schultz, I know nothing, I see nothing.

FZB - stop trying to twist what you said into something that you didn't.

You didn't say black people vote for Obama because they're black like him.

You said they vote for him because they're 'dumb like him'.

In upside-down font because you're just barely smart enough to know better.

When Has Voting Ever Been About The Issues?

All Elections Are Popularity Contest.

And No US President Has Ever Been Or Will Ever Be A Mormon. Or Muslim, Or Jewish. (That Is Fact #1, Heck The Republicans Used It Against Obama In 08', To No Avail. Why Put A Mormon Up In 12')

A Gay Christian Puerto Rican Has A Better Shot At Winning Than Romney Had. It Didn't Help His VP Was Mr.Stepford. The Chad Henne Of VPs.

FZB,

That Is A Mujeron. That Is Unfair To The Little Girl Tannehill Married.

I Was Just Trying To Post Something Dolphin Related. We Do Have The Best Looking Cheerleaders.

Azucar! The white boys on the blog wouldn't have a clue where to begin con esa bestia mi socio. Y eso es lo que es, una bestia y un mostruo. Tremedo tronco de jeva!

So who broke the blog earlier today?

Was it:

FZB with one too many posts defending Ireland?
Woodcock being Woodcock?
Big Baby waging war on Dashi?
Dashi waging war on BB?
Any of Kazaam's rigid, unyielding stances?
One too many Hendrix links by duke?
Jimbo's usage of there when meaning "they're?
or Anti-Christ doing the same?
the shadow knows after using an old word, short circuiting the blog filter patrol?
or perhaps it was Mike1 with another bullet train reference to a soccer game?

It was Tom. He did it. Blame it on the Republicans!

Kazaam, you're trying to put words in FZ's mouth just like they're trying to do with Sergio Garcia.

Mr. Garcia's agent just announced that Mr. Garcia is currently in the process of starting a chain of fried chicken restaurants all over Europe and he was thinking of his new business when he uttered the fried chicken reference. I guess if he would have said that he wanted to serve tighter a big fresh turd with steam still coming from it that would have been better than saying fried chicken. Outrageous behavior by the thought police who are trying to turn this country into an Orwellian mind controlled society where words speak louder than actions.

You just keep it up Kazaam. When they come to take away everyone who has made an off color joke or made fun of someones race, ethnicity, gender, weight, or sexual attraction, you'll be the next one on the list.

Nerds with trust funds who root for Donna Shalala, yea they're dangerous, off with their heads....

Then again, there's always Dave in LA. He could have dropped a drum stick into the system.

No, sorry, I'm not putting words in anyone's mouth.

Word for word.

'Black people will vote for Obama because they're dumb like him'.

FZB says I just have no sense of humor but he sure as hell can't explain what the joke is there.

Yea, so what Kazaam. For two centuries Cubans have been calling Puerto Ricans dumb assess and Puerto Ricans have been calling Cubans bull shiters. So what. You don't see Cubans and Puerto Ricans declaring war against each other do you.

After all we know that we're right about them and their full of shite about us.

See, fish, that's how you get along.

That was a "low blow," OC. Especially to a former man who just had his stick retired.

Eh, ah, wassup, Dave! Has your voice started to rise yet?

Obama is the joke you idiot. If he wasn't flushing the country down the toilet you would see people rolling on the floor laughing every time he opened his yap.

"Will vote for Obama." Meaning it's dumb to vote for Obama just like Obama is a dumb shit. Context, it's all about context. You happen to see and hear what you want based on your preconditions and biases.

End of story.

You're just an anti-Cuban refugee and an ardent racist.

Black people will vote for Obama because they're as dumb as he is.

The joke is that Obama's dumb?

Good one?

You just have no idea what is culturally acceptable in the US - you're allowed to say whatever you want but if you're openly racist, especially towards black people, you're going to come off as an ignorant a**hole.
