ON GUILLEN'S FUTURE AS MARLINS MANAGER: VOTE NOW: ESPN baseball maven Buster Olney writes that the Marlins have stopped playing hard for Ozzie Guillen and that the Marlins manager's future may 1aa1guillenbe in some doubt. Guillen, via Twitter, fired back, telling Olney, '...u so full of [bleep] whit u stupid comments...' Club president David Samson has called Guillen's performance "disappointing" to fuel the speculation. The club has offered no public vote of confidence or assurance he would be back -- which doesn't mean he won't, but certainly invites fans to wonder. That's especially true given owner Jeffrey Loria's history of what seem to be premature firings (think Joe Girardi). I think Ozzie will be back if only because Miami would take a financial hit to fire him with three years left on his contract. I also think he should be given another year at least. A bit of stability wouldn't hurt, particularly if baseball-ops guy Larry Beinfest is gone after the season. Your thoughst on Guillen are invited. Vote now and say why.

HECKLING JEFF IRELAND: A fan identifying himself only as Sean called into 790 The Ticket today to tell of an awkward exchange with Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland during halftime of Sunday's game on a concourse. The fans told Ireland the team needed him "to fire himself." Ireland began to turn to walk away but muttered "asshole" loud enough to be heard. Ireland has acknowledged he used the word and regrets doing so. How unsurprising, all of it. Ireland's unpopularity with fans is pretty clear. And, with new coach Joe Philbin still on his honeymoon here, Ireland will be the face of franchise failures until which time it is clear this club has turned it around and starts consistently winning. My take on this: Ballsy of the fan to say what he said, but points for having the nerve to say it to Ireland directly. Human nature dictates Ireland wanted to call his critic an asshole (or worse), but professionalism dictates he should not have. Don't think this is a big deal, and think Ireland's public "regrets" should suffice.

NFL PIX 'N FANTASY: Had a nice bounceback week with both my NFL predictions and my fantasy team. You knew I would. Right? NFL predix: I'll own up here each week, good or bad. In Week 1 it was an unequivocal bad. In Week 2 it was good straight-up (12-4) and decent at least against the spread (7-8-1), an improvement both ways. Highlight: Nailed my Upset of the Week call with Rams over Redskins. "Aawwk!" Greg's Lobos: After an unlucky tiebreaker loss in Week 1, my fantasy team roared back with a 128-124 win thanks to a huge 35 points each from Reggie Bush and Hakeem Nicks. In my fantasy draft I literally got laughed at for taking Bush. Who laughin' now, b----es!?!

OMG! KATE MIDDLETON TOPLESS-PHOTOS SCANDAL: Rough few weeks for Buckingman Palace and the Royal Family, what? First Prince Harry gets exposed for those strip-poker photos in Vegas. Now, Prince 1aa1katemWilliam's wife, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is exposed with photos of her sunbathing topless at a French chateau. What's next? Prince Philip skinny-dipping? I understand why this is sensational news. Especially when the Kate pics are purloined with a telescopic camera, a clear invasion of privacy, and when the Royals fight back threatening lawsuits and punishment against outlets that publish the photos like the Italian newspaper at right. Personally I am amused, not outraged, by both the action and reaction here. Kate Middleton is a young woman on holiday trying to get a bleepin' tan, OK? Maybe even feeling a bit randy. So what? How dare the Royals act like normal people!?! Kate has decades to carry the old-lady handbag and be all stuffy and Royal. Let her enjoy her youth while she has it.

ROSENHAUS on '60 MINUTES': Anybody catch the feature on Miami-based NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus 1aa1drewSunday night on CBS' 60 Minutes? Drew unabashedly has a big ego and is a shameless self-promoter and spotlight-seeker -- and I say all that with some admiration, actually. Flat out, this guy is great at what he does. The super-aggressive nature and ego connect with football players because their personalities are often the same. Drew is a polarizing, love-him-or-hate-him guy and a bigger star than many of his clients. You can think him a sleazeball if you'd like -- many rival agents certainly do. Just never underestimate him.

SOPY RANKINGS (WEEK 3): DANIELS TO THE TOP: This college football season marks the blog debut of our weekly cumulative State Offensive Player of the Year (SOPY) rankings, which I like to call the "Sunshine 1aa1bjdState Heisman" until a lawyer from Heisman Inc. tells me to stop. Our chart encompasses the best seasons of any quarterback, running back or receiver from the state's seven FBS teams: Miami, Florida and FSU, FIU and FAU, and South Florida and UCF. (Note: The rankings include only passing, rushing and receiving, not returns). Our formula awards one point per offensive yard gained running or receiving and a half-point per yard passing, plus six bonus points for touchdowns thrown or scored. After Week 3 it's B.J. Daniels of South Florida (pictured) to the top. The SOPY Top 10 after Week 3:

Rank (LW)     Player, Team-pos.     SOPY Pts. Week=Year

1 (2)     B.J. Daniels, South Florida-qb     189 = 581

2 (1)     Jake Medlock, FIU-qb     85 = 547.5

3 (7)     E.J. Manuel, FSU-qb     154 = 390.5

4 (--)    Jeff Driskel, Florida-qb     202.5 = 378.5

5 (6)     Blake Bortles, UCF-qb     137.5 = 376

6t (4)     Mike Gillislee, Florida-rb     115 = 373

6t (3)     Kedrick Rhodes, FIU-rb     59 = 373

8 (10)     Duke Johnson, Miami-rb     169 = 363

9 (5)     Graham Wilbert, FAU-qb     101.5 = 354.5

10 (8)     Stephen Morris, Miami-qb     118.5 = 347.5

Bubble: Chris Thompson, FSU-rb, 314.

State of the State rankings: 1. FSU (3-0); 2. Florida (3-0); 3. UCF (2-1); 4. Miami (2-1); 5. South Florida (2-1); 6. FIU (1-2); 7. FAU (1-2).

POOR PANTHERS: The Florida Panthers finally make the NHL playoffs last season for the first time in an Ice Age, and any shot of momentum is erased by this labor disagreement that threatens to cancel the season. Bum luck.
