CANESFAN SATISFACTION METER: G2: 14.7%: Results are certified in the latest edition of the Canesfan Satisfaction Meter, and they show 14.7 percent overall satisfaction in the wake of Saturday's 52-13 loss at No. 21 Kansas State 1aa1csm12putting UM's season record at 1-1. Back for a fourth season, our blog's CSM polls are your invitation after every Miami Hurricanes game to vote on your overall level of satisfaction with the team and season. The CSM is a continuing weekly gauge of how UM football fans are feeling. Criteria for voting is your own, but I suggest you consider the most recent game's performance and caliber of opponent, season as a whole, program's direction, and your overall degree of optimism -- all in the context of reasonable expectations. Polls never close (you can still vote), but results are certified official the morning after one full day of voting. In this case that was around 9 a.m. today/Monday.

2012 Canesfan Satisfaction Meter

Two beers to all the needlessly arrogant scUM fans that thought "da U" was back after beating a 4 win BC team. Look closely at your 5 win team and shut it.

Wow, you better take a calculator to Chicago for the ND game Kaz. It might get ugly.

F*ck, Miami got spanked. Outcoached, outplayed, offense and defense.

It's hard to guess where they go from here, with such a young team a route like this could make or break them. Everything's still there for Miami, K State and Notre Dame don't matter (although I'm going to Chicago), Va Tech and FSU at home, Miami controls their destiny for the coastal, ACC, and Orange Bowl.

First game of the 'Golden era' where Miami wasn't in it. There will be a lot of noise about the DC but the offense put up 6 points until garbage time.

Two weeks to prepare for Ga Tech, they need to get their sh*t together and this DC needs to adjust his play calling for the players he has, no more depending on defensive linemen to produce pressure one on two and no more depending on backs to cover all day long. They can't.

Yeah Miami got the snot kicked out of them but I'd rather be a Hurricane fan than Gator Trash any day!

At least we can spell, put a sentence together, have good comprehension skills (to U Gator fans I'd explain that to you but to quote a really dumb politician it's too damn hot so I will pass on the explanation) and we know that you must wipe after using the bathroom!

Yeah times are bad but I will stick with this team as I have since 1957( Don Bossler's senior year).

I've seen the good, the bad and today the ugly, but it will get better, it always does!

Wow, and I thought I was old. Anonymous, in 1957 I was swimming in Varadero every single day and didn't give a flying f*ck about the Hurricanes or anything else for that matter.

So our Offense runs majority hurry up spread last week when the pro style was working better. Today they run majority pro style when hurry up spread was working better. Die hard Canes fan here, but very questionable play calling and strategy from both sides of the ball to start the season.

Hope I'm wrong, but this could be a very long season. We are very young, so at least there's hope in the near future to look forward to.

We got whacked big time out there. Sad to see. I understand that there are a lot of young players on the team, but that performance was pretty pathetic.

I've been patient with the new coaching regime, but it is imperative that they do something to get this team back on track.

I probably have all of you beat as far as being a long time Miami fan. I can remember listening to their games on the radio in the late 40's. I sat in the OB during the bleak years of the 50's and 60's. Just have to keep the faith and support the team. Not much else that we can do at this point.

Wow... there are no words except, dUmb, stUpid and deeelUsional !

you guys are jumping off the bandwagon already?..go ahead we don't need you anyways, go root for the swamp lizards.

the Canes have 42 freshmen (either true or redshirt) and they have 22 sophomores on the team, that's over 80% of the team, these kids should not be playing, most of them had their senior prom three months ago, its going to take a minimum of two more years for them to be competitive, they have to mature mentally and physically, it's just the way it is.

we have the right guy in charge, look at his record at Temple, every year the team showed improvement, he will do the same thing here, you guys are pathetic

Got home from work to turn on ND-Purdue & Wash-LSU game. Saw the U score ! Geeze uz K rice !

Didn't vote, not a U fan, nor a hater.

Next,,, Dolphins going to Texans,,, got a bad feeling about that one,,, thinking Houston by 20 or better. Hate going against my favorite team.

What is the best college football team in Florida?

B realistic about your response.

If the U would have won today,,, there would have been 200 experts bragging on here,,, all I hear is crickets

This year the best team in Florida is FSU.

Could the Great Don Shula coach this Dolphins team to a winning record?

Mr. Woodcock,

syracuse 56, USC 49

i have absolutely no faith in monte kiffin, he got lucky against the ducks last year but they are gonna run wild against USC, who may outscore them but i believe that the ducks will beat USC twice. stated that the trojans will lose between 2-3 games this year and not get close to the BCS title game. they might even lose to the suddenly resurgent bruins, who will undoubtedly remember 50-0 of last year. surprised tat UM was decimated by k-state, but knew that the wildcats were a veteran team and i guess it showed. so we are 1-0 after syracuse plus the points and am foreseeing a close game with houston tomorrow. not quite the sicilian massacre of 300 BCE, but as stated i like taking points, and would feel better with the original 13.5 but will not give up the ship at dolphins +11.

Jimbo if the Great Coach Shula was in charge of this Dolphin team GM Fire-Island would be elsewhere is my guess.

they look faster than the oregon ducks; stupid, stupid call that gives UCLA a safety, and teams that give up safeties generally lose (not the monday night dolphin type safety to give the kicker room to punt-that was really a "safety play" as the dolphins were up 10 points near game's end. i remember the drunk howard cosell screaming "what are they doing" when anybody sober knew what shula was up to.

Another year, another delUsional bunch goes crazy after an initial win over a bunch of nobodies, only to get smacked with reality during week two.

Honeymoon's over for the Golden Boy.

give up a safety, then let ucla run for a 55 yards gain and blow a FG; what should have been a 9 point margin is now a very overcomeable 2 for nebraska should they decide to let #8 run- he is exciting and a tough runner. and of course, they keep passing with a horrible thrower

the bruins are now gonna get their TD and sink nebraska's hopes.

taylor martinez is the worst passer in america and nebraska goes to him in crunch time and gives ucla the clinching TD. the bruins look great but nebraska has self-destructed in the second half.

A-Cane...and Zulu, I'm prolly somewhere between you 2.
remember some of Andy Gustafson's teams, but I really started going to games when UM hired Charley Tate, an under-rated coach, in my opinion.
Anyone else see the Miami Sr High/Gables game in (I think 63?)
50 thousand in the O-Bowl. Gables was ranked #1 in the country, the Stings #2!
Gables, with the great Larry Rentz beat my Stings.

Sheesh, a loss like todays, and I'm retreating not to the past, but the DISTANT past.

We'll get better.

i am turning out to be a puppy compared to you guys who were in high school in 63 and before. larry rentz? did he ever do anything in college? because i started paying attention by 1963, and i can't recall his name at all. joe auer and billy lothridge (ga tech) and george mira i can recall, but not lerry rentz.

i guess he did play in college and teamed with larry smith at florida (notable for being a first round pick of the rams and running for a long TD for the gators with his trousers falling off). larry smith once popped a 64 yards run for the rams when he hit the proper spot on a 3rd and 1 and was long gone; one of the last white runners in the NFL.

larry smith was a fast and big guy- 64 yard and 68 yard runs in back to back seasons for the rams. back then the only way to see college football highlights was on ABC on sunday afternoons when they had highlight shows featuring 5 or 6 selected games. don't recall larry rentz but he did play a couple of years in the pros and had two seasons of over 50% completions (one year almost 58%) wwhen 45-48% was good for college QBs.

Oye FZB, si pa' mejor hay que aguantar la entrada de palo que le dieron a los negros hoy, coño, cuando llegue la mejoria no va a quedar ni la quinta ni los mangos.

Holy shit Zulu, you must have come here with Ponce De Leon. You found that damn fountain, eh buddy?

While others were celebrating the FIU overtime field goal against Akron, I left FIU Stadium (which looks especially beautiful now that it's fully enclosed) in a state of disgust.

Either Duke and Akron are much better than most thnk, or FIU is an overrated mess with all that preseason top 25 talk. I'm afraid it's the latter. Season is still young, but what was supposed to be a very promising final season in the SunBelt may actually turn out to be as long and torturous as UM's... except for FIU, this is unexpected.

ucla beats nebraska

oregon state beats wisconsin

arizona state beating illinois

arizona battling ok state

cal wins

oregon and USC as usual

washington overpowered in baton rouge

utah and colorado don't count- interlopers into our conference

stanford running wild

nobody is going to have an easy time getting into the BCS game from our conference, as i don't think anyone, except possibly oregon, will be undefeated. alabama/lsu, oklahoma, ohio state are possible undefeateds, with va tech/clemson a possibility.

U startn to get this ?

We got our asses handed to us in a big way, I actually think it will be good in the long term, we will see now who the leader's of the team are (among the young guy's) lets see who steps out and says enough of this shit.

we won't be competitive until they get stronger and get some experience, we'll see, also I think this is the last year of Shannon's garbage players being on the team, good riddance..

up with the roosters, huh? the pac-? was all over everybody but LSU in baton rouge; usual trumping of big 10 scools (three i believe). UM has plenty of room for improvement and will improve and morph into an 8-4 team. ga tech might confuse them, clemson and FSU will be tough games as will va tech, but methinks that UM will get much better.

Mr. Woodcock,

the line has jumped up to miami plus 14.5 (that .5 is a very important part of the line) so i am reserving the right to take that many points. guess a lot of money on the texans at 11 changed things. syracuse scored enough points to cover, and their passer did as the ole shadow expected and got some scores. barkley is off to great start, woods, lee, and silas redd also- however i am looking at oregon and UCLA playing at warp speed and improved teams in the arizona desert. 2 losses for sure for USC and no chance at the vase-happy?

Things needed for the game

#1 A fifth of Jack Danials
#2 2 remote controls
#3 a 12 pack of beer(whatever beer it doesnt matter)
#4 A pistol
#5 A second TV(See # 4)
#6 A thick skin
#7Extra cell phone)You can bet your buddies will be texting all game)
#8 A Bail-Bondsmen(see #s 4 and 7)
#9 A day off on Monday(See #s 1,4,and 8)
Go FINS......

The U of Miami needs to change their name to the "U" AT Miami. The City of Miami gave up on this team years ago. All they saw was their precious Orange Bowl and they couldn't even keep it with doing no upkeep. Then they trash it and build a baseball stadium? Now there's some City support! After all the years The "U" brought money to the city and they treat "U" like CRAP!!The City of MIAMI and their GREED, the PITTS!

Golden was right about one thing....DEFINETLY

It is football 101...your defense getting gashed (2 weeks in a row now) and rather than give your defense a rest your offense goes into hurry up......
you are away from home CONTROL THE CLOCK....

Look at time of posession for both games....OUR DEFENSE OUT ON THE FIELD TOO LONG!!!!

You have a stable of running backs....yet you choose to put up the ball 75 times in 2 weeks.....

Somebody clue this guy in on how you coach away from home....

Oh and by the way.....

score should have been 63.......

Everybody forget the trick play k-state ran at goal line...

Outstanding post mr Anti-Christ. funny & true

stay on track, who really thought we was all the way back... Coker, Shannon,an soon the ncaa. Stay patient year 2 in the Golden era. Very young defense we are not back but on the right path...

post of the day buddy, funniest shit I have read in a long time, I concur with Jimbo.

Orange Bowl, lay off the weed, the Canes can't compete physically with these older mature teams yet, it has nothing to do with coaching..

I blamed Shannon for the woeful defense last year being lost and outclassed. Sorry Randy, this year is worse. We are all a product of our learning, a reflection of our guidance (and-or) mis-guidance. You may have a young bunch of guys but all the more reason to teach them well. A few, last year we could not defend the QB keeper. Last year we could not defend drag accross the middle. Defensive backs do not cover. DL cannot penetrate. Nothing has changed. I remember the name Larry Rentz but not after high school. Saw my first Cane game in 1945. Wooden west end zone bleacher seats were 75 cents.
GO CANES. Bill Snyder coached all week that the Canes would be out for revenge. Had his team motivated.

Good God Sage, Your older them I am.
