DOLFAN SATISFACTION METER: G2: 90.6%: Results are certified in the latest installment of the Dolfan Satisfaction Meter, and they show 90.6 percent overall satisfaction in the wake of Sunday's home-opening 35-13 victory vs. Oakland putting Miami's 1aa1dsmseason record at 1-1. The DSM, in its fifth season, is continuous weekly gauge of how fans are feel about the Dolphins and their direction. Right after each game I invite you to share your overall degree of satisfaction. Criteria for voting is your own, but I suggest fans consider the most recent game's performance and caliber of opponent, the season as a whole, the direction the club is heading and your overall degree of optimism -- all in the context of reasonable expectations. Polls never close (you can still vote), but results are certified official the morning after one full day of voting. In this case that was around 8:45 a.m. today/Tuesday.

2012 Dolfan Satisfaction Meter

G1: 17.2% (4.4-v, 12.8-s) following 30-10 loss at Houston.

G2: 90.6% (47.1-v, 43.5-s) following 35-13 victory vs. Oakland.

Next poll: Sept. 23 following game vs. N.Y. Jets.

Previous final season results for overall satisfaction:

2011: 34.9%

2010: 3.8%

2009: 31.2%

2008: 96.9%

Reggie Bush was a f*cking animal today. But what realy impressed me was the way Tannehill bounced back from last week. That kid showed some serious poise.

Good to see you on here Dave. Agreed, great game put on by the youngsters.

repost from last blog page:

Sparano comment:
When Sparano publically said that Reggie Bush was brought in to be an everydown feature back, most were skeptical. -'cept shadow-
Thought of Tony Potato Head when the Dolphins were lining up an knocking Raiders off the line of scrimage eating yards & the clock.
Outside of Long pass blocking like a old slow circus bear,,, IMO the Line played great. Incognito & Pouncey are playing at a high level. Jerry & Martin held down the right side well today... & Raider have a stout D front seven... no easy task.
Tannehill played better in wk 2 then wk 1. If that younster improves each week we may be on to something. It would be nice to have a good QB in Miami for the next decade or so....

If the Jets lose, all AFC East teams are 1-1.

Jimbo,

have a happy new year-methinks #22 is showing he can tote the rock; tremendous today and showed skills that he and not very many others have.

Big improvement from last week. I'm so glad that the Dolphins pulled it off. This is one to build on going to the next game versus the jets.

Like I said this is a team that we should beat.

shadow, no doubt Reggie is a special talent & is Miami's early MVP.

Is this Dolphins team good enough to beat the Jets?
Key-- Offense needs to put up 3 TD's a game to win.

Dolphins run D is rock solid. Miami blitzed a lot in the 4th quarter to create a pass rush. Coverage was pretty lose down field. LB's covered RB McFadden & Raiders TE fairly well - particularly LB Dansby.

Tannehill looks confident & throws a nice touch pass to compliment his heater. The young QB looks more natural at leading a team downfield then Henne ever did.

I haven't had a better weekend than this one in a long time.

Canes won

Dolphins won

Patriots lost

Ravens lost (Flacco couldn't get them in FG range)

Jets lost

All AFC teams are 1-1, we're in first place !!!!!!

the running game is a QB's best friend, our O Line needs to built on this game, Tannehill looked more comfortable, he looked poised.

All I'm looking for is for T-Hill to get a little better each week.

our LB's are slooooowww.

They didn't beat them big baby, they kicked that ass. The rookie looked like a pro, Reggie Bush is hands down the AFC player of the week and a Pro Bowler if he even sniffs this production continuously.

The Fish tied for first two games into the season. I am amazed. Don't want to get my hopes too high. I predicted 5-11 and one of the five wins I expected Miami to win was today's game. That said, you gotta be pleased with the improvement from game one. I'm way more hopeful for the game against the Jets than I was this morning.

I went to the Panthers vs Saints game and that Cam Newton is amazing. They are a very fun team to watch.

FZB I like your list. It was a good week for me too. Add Auburn to that list.

It's hard to imagine how bad the Raiders must be in order for the Dolphins to beat them.

there's the first negativo comment, Finished must be a Jets fan..

Naples Jack, what happened to the Pat-sies brother?

Naples Jack will be quiet for a couple days..hehehe

FZB,, "our linebackers are slow"...
what are you talking about?
I disagree with your statement
Misi, Dansby, Burnett are athletic linebackers with good range. Dansby pretty much shut down McFadden. Raiders ran for a total of 23 yards.

One thing the management did right was Bush.

I still don't get these satisfaction polls. 1. The non-Phins fans will always vote very satisfied (for Phins loss) and very disatisfied on Phins win.

Also, 2. are we voting based on today's game or the big picture? Because Yes, I was very satisfied with today, but overall just satisfied because we still have a long way to go.

I KNEW the Patriots would come back. I never would've thought about the bad luck that kept them from completing the comeback

Shadow, I can barely keep up with the blog..

But yes, the US gave us quite the scare. I was in a packed sports bar watching it.. we dominated like crazy but couldnt score..while Guatemala had just won their game. How many times can you hit the woodwork. FINALLY, we scored. There's a 4 minute official youtube video with almost all US highlights.

We're in a 3 way tie with 2 games left in the round.

Have you followed the other zones?
England lucky to salvage the home draw was Ukraine thins to stupid handball.

The Aussies are off to slow start.

What happened to Paraguay?..for 20 years a thorn in Brazil and Argentina in qualifying. Suddenly, in last and just about out of it. Meanwhile, where as Colombia come from.

The oddest thing is that Tahiti upset N. Zealand to take the Oceania Cup...and hence they will play in next year's Confederation Cup vs teams like Spain & Brazil. In World Cup qualifying, N. Zealand has returned to the top...and Tahiti is losing bad to teams like New Caledonia and Solomon Islands. OMG, what's going to happen when they play Brazil or Spain ??? ..they will likely play one of them..I'm sure both will be seeded.

Ok, if we beat jets, pats colts, buffalo, and the 49rs, I'm a believer! Yes, beat those teams and yes, we are a contender!

If the Dolphins listened to the fans, we'd be a winning team!

no one is talking about being a "contender", douchesky. it's about effort, the young players showing improvement, and building towards something. everyone knows we are rebuilding. so relax, enjoy the process, or make negative douche bag comments like you usually do..
hey FZB.. we looked good today. let's see some more next week..

Jimbo,

the Raider's TE's made a bunch of plays and those are the LB's responsibility, from the stands they looked kind of slow, I taped the game so maybe your right.

redsky,

I can see the Dolphins beating Buffalo and the Jets and the Colts, the 49rs ?...I don't know.

I've been pleasantly surprise by the play of John Jerry, if he works out then our offensive line can come together and we can get a running game going which is what Tannehill needs in order to keep improving, Tannhehill seems to be level headed and doesn't get rattle easily, so far I love what the kid is doing.

Jets week is here, stinking green slime..they got their ass handed to them by the Steeler's yesterday so they'll be a hungry team...Bring it!!

Naples Jack,

I told you the Pat's have some serious issues on the offensive line, Brady is going to get kill out there.

not that I care.

Run Reggie Run!

starting out 1-1 is more acceptable for a rebuilding team then last yrs 0-7 start that featured Henne & Moore, Davis, Marahall.

Dolphins D is talented & sound but doesn't create many turnovers.

Jets looked bad versus Pitt.

We should be able to handle them too I think their best days are far behind them.

Liked Hartline always have actually if he keeps it up we are in good shape no diva receivers necessary.

Our oline looks good right now.

I am waiting for NaplesJack to tell me that R. Bush still isn't worth 5 mil a year.

Good for Tannehill and Philbin first home operning win since 2005 for Fins.

Baby,

Naples Jack won't admit that R Bush is a very good player.

Dolphins and Jets are rivals, anything is bound to happen but I feel a little better going into sunday's game now that we have a win, I think their offense and our defense match up but what I'm most encourage about is the play of our offensive line, they been opening some holes for our running backs.

Hopefully D Thomas will be back this week but do we sit L Miller??..I would keep him on the roster and sit L Naanee heck is not doing anything anyways.

I wanted to get rid of Hartline, man I think I was wrong about him, so far he's looked great.

Reggie keeps it up and he is getting paid next year by Fins long term which I think would be a good move.

Hartline is now our # 1 and he is playing like it.

Jets are toast FZB their offense stinks and their defense isn't scary anymore either I am calling a win now.

Props to you FZB you called it every day. They looked good. Any weekend when the Dolphs and the Canes win and SC takes gas is a great football weekend.

Thanks Woodcock,

You guys missed a hell of a performance on saturday by Duke Johnson, this guy was light's out, I think he is already the best player on the team.

Baby, don't get too cocky about the game on sunday, the Jets put 45 pts on the Bills and I think Revis should be back, we also have a couple of injuries on our defensive backs but I think the key would be our running game.

Hey Kaz, what happened to the Raven's?, Philly was trying to give the game away to you guys and you guys still could not pull it off.

Yeah injuries a concern I heard Marshall left with a back injury but hopefully this is a sign of good things to come and I think it is.

Judging by butts in the seats on Saturday....ALOT of people missed Miami's newest "El Duque" !!!

I have not quite gone into "sugar shock" just yet from drinking that Fin-flavored Kool Aid....To me it just proves 2 things...

1. There is a more dysfunctional franchise out there than us......

2. Yes - The theories are correct - even a blind squirrel can find a nut!!!

That being said......They beat the Jets next week & I dont care what happens the rest of the year!!!!!!

It looked like there were 400 people at that UM game pretty sad.

Mike1 -

Paraguay going thru serious re-building.
Columbia has a REAL coach in Pekerman...
Real question - What happened to Uruguay ?? Copa America winners - World Cup final 4.....

England - should have hired Redknapp as there coach....

Tahiti vs Brazil or Spain - Dont even need to go into that....

It's funny how Kazaam disappears when he has nothing to gloat about (Ravens) or complain about (Dolphins).

Still think that Raiders roster is better than Miami's Kaz?

Might want to rethink that one.

FZB- Don't worry, it's week 2, and the season is a marathon not a sprint. I never go into a bunker and hide. Pats did not deserve to win yesterday, but they could of pulled it out. Bad play calling, bad special teams. These are the parts of the game they do well in. I cant remember getting a punt blocked on there own 10yd line before. There defense looks like it's comming together. Hernandez out for at least 6 weeks hurts. Gronk was not at his best, caught for holding on Woodheads 30yd td run at the end, then a false start next play to push fg team further back. Bad spot by holder, kicker shanked it wide left so far, it missed the net. I hope the Dolphins beat the Jets sunday, it will be a tough game.

Big Baby- Bush had a great game sunday, should be the player of the week. BUT, it was the RAIDERS!!! One game does not make a season. I will give the guy all the props in the world, if he can get half those yds rushing sunday against the Jets. Tannah. looks to be getting better, I hope the Dolphins can beat the Jets. Bush still has to keep it up for a 16 wk season. Jets can not score points against a good defense. I think the Fins can shut down Sanchez. Yhe guy looked pathetic sunday.

Flacco 8 of 26 in second half versus Philly.

Yup that's the guy we know right FZB?

I will be rooting hard for him next week though NE at 1-2 will make me very happy.

Yes Naples it was the Raiders let's temper our enthusiasm.

Bush should get half those yards against the Jets at least he would need 86 I'll guess he's good for that.

Bush played in 15 games last season with over 1300 combined yards he does have an injury history but more and more it's looking like the Saints didn't use him correctly.

Baby, agree..

until Flacco proves it otherwise for me is Flacco=Henne

sorry Kaz.

Orange Bowl, you seem to be a little "negativo" even after a Dolphins win but I agree with you on the Jets, they just need to be that green slime.

meant to say "they just need to beat that green slime"

sorry

meant to say "they just need to beat that green slime"

sorry..

Naples Jack,

you didn't even mentioned the offensive line, they are bad and Brady is not safe back there...

Hey, if you guys don't want W Walker we'll take him back.

FZB this is all good for us that Oline is bad and it's not likley to be fixed this season.

They had Donald Thomas in there yesterday starting.

Cubiche, we need more people like you in the planet buddy. I gotta give it to you, you've been upbeat about the Canes and the Dolphs from the git go. It's always nice to have a glass is 4/5 full guy like you to keep us sour pusses on the straight and narrow. Keep up the good work, bro.

Orange Bowl 4ever , glad to see another futbol fan.

Well, that Tahiti vs Brazil or Spain will happen less than a year from now. 8 team tournament, 2 groups. No doubt Brazil and Spain will be the seeds. So one of them, will play Tahiti.

The last few Confederation Cups have become watched heavily and most teams are playing their top rosters. In 2009, US beat Spain who fielded a better team than they did in the World Cup in 2010.

We've seen teams like San Marino get smoked for years in WC qualifying....but Tahiti will be playing one the world's stage. Think they'll be nervous or take it in stride ...they know they will lose, but I bet they're afraid of how badly they can be embarrassed.

Remember the QC qualifying record was Australia over American Samoa 31-0...yes, 31-0 a few editions ago.

I believe the WC record was Hungary 10 El Salvador 1 in 1982 (though there may have been some bigger ones in the pre-WWII years) when few teams could make the long trips and countries were invited rather than qualified.
