GIANCARLO STANTON OUT OF HOME RUN DERBY, ALL-STAR GAME: Stanton (pictured) left yesterday's Marlins game with continued soreness in his knee, underwent minor surgery today and will miss Monday's Home Run Derby and Tuesday's All-Star Game. More important, he will be lost to the Marlins for an estimated month to six weeks. The surgery was called successful. (Ever notice that teams never announce unsuccessful surgeries?) Stanton's absence will be a major blow to the team's effort to make up ground in the NL playoff chase.
HEAT LANDS FREE-AGENT RAY ALLEN: Ray Allen chose Miami yesterday over re-signing with Boston for nearly double the money, and the Heat is convinced the deciding factor was Miami's successful hard sell on the concept of "family" with this club. That's why he accepted $6.3 million over two years here, when the Celtics were dangling $12 million. The family factor latter is not to be underestimated, as Allen's fractured relationship with Rajon Rondo is one reason he left Beantown. Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra headed the local wooing party, and the three were later met by other Heat officials over dinner at downtown's pricey Il Gabbiano, where you cannot go wrong with the Costoletta alla Valdostana (chop stuffed with pate' foie gras, prosciutto and sauteed wild mushrooms) for $45.75. Stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade already had reached out to Allen, more of the welcoming family strategy that Miami thought gave it an edge. Wade on Wednesday Tweeted, 2Morrow is a big day for #HeatNation. James reTweeted that, adding, Absolutely!! #HeatNation Stand Up. James had earlier Tweeted, I hope so, in response to his son asking him if Allen would join the Heat, and also previously Tweeted a photo of Allen in a Heat uniform. Allen was Miami's main free-agent target. He'll be the top guard off the bench and a perimeter shooter from 3'sville. Riley is one of the NBA's great closers and proved it again. Appropriately, club owner Micky Arison announced Allen's decision by Tweeting, 'Welcome to the family, No. 20.' (He Tweeted from London, where he is attending Wimbledon's finals. It's good to be a billionaire!) Meanwhile Rashard Lewis and Marcus Camby are visiting the Heat this weekend and one (more likely Lewis) could still be signed.
'The Heat Effect': The success and popularity of the Heat has spurred the Dolphins and Marlins to a greater sense of urgency and to be bolder to grow their place in a sports market now dominated by the NBA team. I cite examples and explore in my latest column. Click on The Heat Effect.
MY WORLD: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEWSPAPER AND BLOG: I write a Sunday notes column called Random Evidence of a Cluttered Mind, from which the name of this blog derives. Both that column and this blog aim to occasionally push envelopes with stuff a bit risque by mainstream-media standards. But I am reminded every week that certain stuff that's OK for this blog can't get in the newspaper. Here are two examples of punchlines I have tried and failed to get into my Sunday notes column: 1) Dennis Rodman says he wants to coach a topless women's basketball team at a New York City gentleman's club. Players need not be adept at dribbling, but bouncing is a plus. And 2) The University of North Dakota finally has agreed to drop its politically incorrect Fighting Sioux nickname deemed an offensive stereotype by Native Americans. The new nickname: Hard-Drinking Navajos.
OCHOCINCO LIVE-TWEETS WEDDING: (Or did that go without saying?) Dolphins receiver Chad Ochocinco -- four words that still seem strange together -- live-Tweeted from his July 4 wedding to reality-TV quasi-celeb Evelyn Lozada. They were wed in St. Martin in the Caribbean. Click here for the People account. Cameras were rolling (naturally) to document the nuptials for their upcoming VH1 reality serioes, Ev & Ocho. "I don't recall sending the butterflies in my stomach an invite," he Tweeted moments before the exchange of vows. (Wouldn't it have been great if Evelyn had then Tweeted, "Get off the damned cellphone!") Postscript: Also Wednesday, Ochocinco, displaying uncommon sanity, officially reverted to Chad Johnson again. Pictured: The happy and excessively publicized couple.
MARLINS MAKE STATEMENT WITH CARLOS LEE: [Update: Nice debut yesterday. Lee plays first, bats third, has double, single and run scored in 4-0 win] I like this. Feel badly for Gaby Sanchez, but feel good that the Marlins are buyers, not sellers as the trade deadline approaches. Means they haven't given up on this season, on now. Carlos Lee is past his prime, on the heavy side and relatively mediocre defensively at first base but remains a solid run producer and a clear upgrade over Sanchez and his season-long struggles. Lee's 975 RBIs since 2003 are the sixth-most among active players in that span, including 94 for Houston last season. That saddle-him-up-and-ride production is partly why he is nicknamed El Caballo, or "The Horse." Trading two prospects for Lee is another now-not-someday statement, and that's good, too.
Poll result: Romney edges Obama: Our blog poll was as close as I'd imagined. You can still vote (in the post just below this new one), but I finished counting chads and must declare Mitt Romney a narrow victor over Barack Obama, 51.2 percent to 48.8. Votes came in from 38 countries and 25 states. Just under half of all votes came from Florida, where Romney won with 52.8%. We'll have another, final presidential poll here just before Election Day. Poll analysis: Obama consistently led by a few percent until fairly late in the voting. Hmm. Makes me suspect organized Republican involvement to spread the word and swing the result. It's all good, though. Let freedom reign!
WHAT DOES THE FOURTH OF JULY MEAN?: I think to too many of us it's just a bonus day off, an
excuse to overeat, consume mass quantities of alcohol -- like Americans need an excuse for that -- and blow up fireworks. A party, in other words. But patriotism lives somewhere in there. Wife and I spent a few midday hours on Fort Lauderdale Beach yesterday and I was inspired by all the red, white and blue attire. (My favorite T-shirt bore the rather aggressive sentiment: America: Back to Back World War Champions!) Also sat and listened to a quaint band of mostly older folks in the shade of a tent playing patriotic tunes, and was impressed by the number of revelers who stopped to listen, even sing along, then warmly applaud. The moral of the story: One can be drunk and a patriot at the same time. After all, what's more American than multi-tasking!?
WORLD'S WORST MOTHER: Here is my candidate until a worse one comes along.
DEAR GREG...: "Your blog's OK but would be better if occasionally you would show a photo of an apple that had been transmogrified into a world map. Thank you." Dear Reader: Don't be ridiculous!

Frankly, I'm proud of my fellow Beach High alum Chad Johnson. He has managed to keep his name in front of the public despite his declining football skills. When you are an athlete, or a dancer for that matter, you MUST make as much money as you can while your body permits until the inevitable breakdown. Two years engaged? Really? Probably took that long to work out the prenuptial agreement. This marriage has about as much chance for success as she does dancing professionally without a pole.

Obama sided with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, wanted a change in Libya, but wouldn't pick on someone his own size when Iran stomped out their people...
Has done nothing different than Bush, other than bringing those drones to our own shores for use on american citizens...Oh yeah, imagine someobody other than the one you worship having a "kill list".
Unemployment higher, cost of energy higher, cost of food higher...Housing still a mess.
Oh yea...How about that debt! So proud to have mortgaged our future and our children's future after calling Bush unpatriotic for his debt and then Obama doubling down in half the time.
Its everyone elses fault.
What a guy...Wont prosecute the black panthers but will challenge our states in court for doing what the feds won't do (e.g., Arizona and Florida). He is special.
Congress passes laws...Obama declares he won't be following those laws (e.g., illegals, DOM act, etc)...So one guy can rule and supercede the will of the people and congress? No checks and balances? I am sure Chavez, Castro et. al won their elections too.
Healthcare...People don't want it but he will tell you what is best for the people. When you still don't want it, he will use our tax dollars for propaganda to tell you why exactly you do want it....Its not a tax just to argue in front of the supreme court that it is a tax...Once he wins, wait not a tax just a penalty. The ends justify the means is a nice mantra of communists...Think about it people and this is after they changed the rules and also bought their way to passing it the first time. Heck with the details though.
To vote for him is criminal. Maybe that goes too far you are just stupid. Why does he campaign at colleges? To get out the vote of those children lacking in real life experiences. We are a joke.

Woodcock, si Obi sale de nuevo estamos mui jodido's.

Dave, how did Obi turn around GM? Does he have a part time job on the assembly line? Does he come in after he clocks out at the White House and clean the toilets at GM headquarters in Detroit? The one thing that he could do for GM is to break dance during lunch in front of a Chevrolet dealership to attract customers but he's the only brother that I've seen that can't dance. It must be because of his mom's genes. You would think that the least that he could do was to drive around in a pimped out Cadillac to get more blacks into the showroom but even that extra year of unemployment benefits that he came up with is not enough for Leroy to walk into the showroom with a wad of cash and drive out a purple and green colored Coupe DeVille.
Posted by: Mr. Woodcock | July 05, 2012 at 02:07 PM
Woodcock,
most liberals just follow what's been said through the main stream media without checking the facts and make up shit as they go along.
Dave just needs to check out the facts a little more.
OC is going to Tejas today right ?..Good luck with the move buddy.

FZB - I know you can't explain the 'facts' to Dave but could you even explain the Foxnews version of how Obama did not save GM with a $50B bailout?
You know, beyond 'Liberal bad!', 'Republican good!'...
Posted by: I am Kazaam | July 05, 2012 at 02:54 PM
I wasn't even in favor of the bailout BTW, I'd have let that sucker sink.

Again I must've said something wrong.
Let me check
We have a black gay Jew for a president
Posted by: Dashi | July 05, 2012 at 03:25 PM
Kaz,
I'm not aware of the "foxnews version" on how Obama did not save GM although I tend to agree with you on that one, if is me I would have left GM go down the toilet.
But Obama really had no choice to extend them an olive branch, GM was in the mist of a great collapse because of poor management, union problems and lack of vision so if Obama wouldn't had interfere it would have created a much bigger problem and people would have gone into a panic, it was the right move.
The great concern for everyone at the time was that the goverment was trying to take over and soon we would have had a socialist state, I don't think we where ever in danger of that happening but Obama was dealing with a big domestic problem and a possible major world wide collapse if he did not act quickly.
that doesn't mean that bail outs are always or often justified. Bankruptcy is usually the most efficient way to allow a company in trouble to try to reorganize itself and correct their previous mistakes, this is the way it always has been in a free enterprise system society .
I'm not a fan of Obama but there is no denying he has had to make tough calls , some have work while other's leave you speech-less, I can name a 100 reason's as to why I don't think he is the right president, the main one is his continue support for the so called "little people" , the poor , America was founded and grew because of the hard work of millions that said, I can make it with hard work, this president seems to want to reward those that are lazy and prefer to get a hand-out from the goverment.
those are not the principles that this great country was founded, the free enterprise system rewards people with initiative and vision.

Kazaam,
so george romney was in charge of american motors. within 15 years of his taking charge of american motors, ramblers were history. the name change to american motors didn't do much to save the company, famous for A)the little nash rambler, famous for outrunning a cadillac while stuck n second gear (great 50s novelty record "beep, beep" B) the all around glass gremlin (no dope smoking in that baby, nowhere to hide, and C) the hysterical commercial of 1969 :the driving school, winner of the clio award and still funny 40+ years later. daddy was the front-runner for the GOP until he came back from vietnam and claimed he had been "brainwashed" by the generals there. romney was a moderate in the GOP of those days, four years after one of the truly great americans ever, barry goldwater, got demolished in the election by being portrayed as a warmonger ready and willing to drop the bomb. the commercialthat segued from the little girl holding the flower into the mushroom cloud finished the chances of the man who said in his acceptance speech in san francisco "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice"; he was introduced to the convention by the actor ronald reagan.

Even Stevie Wonder could see that the government was not going to let GM disappear. Thirty five years ago they propped up Chrysler when Chrysler's preferred stock was trading at $3.00 a share. The reason that you would have "let that sucker sink" is that the only thing that you know anything about Kazaam are sinkers, hooks, and other shinny things found in your tackle box. Lets hope that you become castaway'd in a one coconut palm island in the Coral Sea.

The car makers make up 6% of the GDP. I remember seeing GM ceo recently on TV Dan Akerson. He was explaining why the Gov't did it. The guy is a big time republican, so he would never give the other party full credit. But he said that it was Both parties that got it done and that Romney should stop saying his Business Plan did it.
The guy said that an important part of the Bailout is that US gov't owns something like 24% of GM and they can't sell the shares for the next 20 years. Then they asked him if he thinks will the Gov't ever sell? and he replied No cause it makes good business sense.
Hey, What's a White Mexican called? Mitt Romney -in a Mexican Accent
Posted by: Dashi Da Entertainer | July 05, 2012 at 06:10 PM
Shadow - had no idea Romey Sr. made it so far, I had just assumed he was a big shot Mormon politician in Utah.
If I had to check a box for my politics it would be a 'Barry Goldwater Conservative'. Of course those values don't overlap much with the Republican party today. Somewhat ironic that both he and Ron Paul have been vilified for simply having a 'pro-American' foreign policy.
'Too concerned with making friends with arabs to worry about national security'. What a joke.
Posted by: I am Kazaam | July 05, 2012 at 06:24 PM
Woodcock - actually your candidate would have. He explained very clearly why in an op-ed in the New York Times.
Posted by: I am Kazaam | July 05, 2012 at 06:24 PM
The dictator in chief took over GM for nothing more than the union vote. He seized control, stole it from the stockholders, gave it to the union bosses.
That doesn't happen in America but does in the new Amerika.
Solyndra...fast and Furious...it used to be liberals and conservatives would argue over 3 percent tax increases...now they simply want to control your every move and are radical. One thing about conservatives...we want you to live your life free and how you want to live it.
Liberals...
Can I please have salt on my table and a big gulp I promise to walk on treadmill to repay society.
Posted by: Close really? | July 05, 2012 at 06:56 PM
Yeah, that's just what we need, another Republican Disaster. After all, the LAST ONE, Bush, did this:
1) Allowed 9/11 to happen on HIS WATCH
2) Never got Bin Laden
3) LIED to THE WORLD to start the Iraq war
4) SQUANDERED THE SURPLUS HE GOT FROM CLINTON
5) STARTED THE CURRENT DEFICIT
6) And presided over the BIGGEST ECONOMIC COLLAPSE SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION
LMFAO! No matter what the Right Wing clowns say about Obama, he is a LONG, LONG WAY from matching THAT RECORD OF REPUBLICAN STUPIDITY.

Alexis...
Almost four years...at what point do you and the man you worship own it?
You must be a student...grow up.
Let's talk about history and the presidents you mention...Clinton moved to the center because republicans spearheaded reforms. Things started going doth during bush second term and is it just a coincidence that is when the radical lobs took control in 2007??? Remember fanny and Freddie? Oops that was Dodd frank et al.
Iraq...heard it. Old talking points. By the way it is also common knowledge that all involved including Clinton were in favor...Barack voted present.

I know the GOP counts on the American sheeple having very short memories and attention spans, but the STINK of the Bush years still fills the nostrils of everyone that DOESN'T have his head up his butt while watching Fox News Propaganda.
This is not "my father's GOP"; I actually wish it WAS; maybe I could support them. No, this new and whacko GOP is so totally off the deep end that no rational thinking American would want to have anything to do with them. Ronald Reagan, Bush I, Richard Nixon, Dwight D. Eisenhower, all of those GOP icons would be kicked to the curb and vilified as "RINOS" by the Loony Tunes crowd that runs the party today. Seriously, look at the nut jobs that they had running for the nomination this year: Ricky Perry, Michelle Bachman, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum...all of them far out whack jobs whose positions are so far outside the MAINSTREAM it's hilarious.
And they finally picked Romney, even though most Republicans DON'T EVEN LIKE HIM! Talk about a party that has lost it's way!
No, the GOP will be in for a good beating this November, and not a moment too soon. That party needs a real WAKE UP CALL from the American people. They need to realize that the average American doesn't LIKE Rush Limbaugh and the politics of HATE, FEAR, SEXISM & RACISM turns people OFF. Hopefully after their landslide defeat this November the few SANE VOICES in that party will kick the Far Right Loonies OUT and the Party can return to sanity; America needs them to do so!

Typical New Age Republican , this Anon "close really". Has to call people NAMES because his ideas are as bankrupt as the country was when Bush left. Little child, I'm a 56 year old WHITE MAN. My son did two tours in Fallujah, and he and I are both PATRIOTS, so the last thing I need is an ignorant lecture from some fool whose very first comment to me is to call me out of my name. These words are the last thing I'm ever going to say to you, child. If you really want to discuss politics or debate me, you shouldn't have been stupid enough to call me names as the first thing out of your mouth.

This is for Greg:
Greg, what's UP with this paper? I mean just look at that STUPID ARTICLE on the Herald Sports Page: THIS IS A HO HUM TIME OF YEAR FOR SPORTS FAN IN MIAMI. I read that and I wanted to punch that guy in the mouth. On the ONE HAND, the SPORTS WRITERS here will bemoan the fact that baseball fans in Miami are not this and they're not that, but on the other hand they make it a self fulfilling prophecy by WRITING such GARBAGE!
If you write that this is a "Ho Hum Time for Sports" you help to MAKE IT THAT WAY! These "writers" here are laughable (leaving YOU out of it; I do respect you). We have this kid Stanton that SHOULD BE the next big sports sensation in America. He's young, strong, hits HRs, and he's good looking too; the broads would love the kid. He's the obvious heir to Jeter as baseball's next pretty boy Superstar, and trust me, if this was New York or any other REAL SPORTS TOWN, the sports media would be hyping him and promoting him as such. He would not be able to walk down the street, especially after that Sports Illustrated article. Instead he's basically a NOBODY in this town.
Well, that's how it goes in this SECOND RATE SPORTS TOWN. One of the main reasons that it IS a second rate sports town is because the SPORTS MEDIA HERE is SECOND RATE.
Again, Greg, I'm excluding YOU from that, because you seem to be pretty fair.
Posted by: Alex | July 05, 2012 at 07:28 PM
Alex, Alex Alex...you are delusional, everything you have written is soooooooooo far off that is not even funny, get your facts straight before you and i can engage in an intelligent conversation.
if I feel like it a little later i will come back and give you some facts, in the meantime let me just say this so i can feel a little better, you are an ass-wipe.
Posted by: FZB | July 05, 2012 at 07:32 PM
Hey can we stop the politics already? That was last post and we are still debating about it now. We can go back and forth until November and still not get anything done. No one is going to change anyone's mind. We will all vote for who we think is right.
Stanton should be getting more respect. I have him winning the HR derby, that should give him some more exposure. The kid can play, but Miami has been busy celebrating the title the heat just won.
Alex has a point in that Greg is one of the few that doesn't always talk negative or follows what the national media says and just repeats it. Most dolphin post remind me of what he is saying. The herald is the local newspaper, if someone is supposed to come in defense of it's stars in Miami it should be the herald. Look how the SS writes 1 article on Chad and now the national media says Chad wants to play until he is forty. What about him helping out the homeless, or how he treats everyone like a friend.
No, let's just take the 1 loud mouth comment and make fun of him. What about the part he is with his personal WR's Coach getting ready for this season. Or How about Chad knowing the WCO? He ran a variation of it in Cincinnati.

I have a theory on why Russian babes are so HOT now. Can you say Operation Barbarossa... The Germans started out fast driving across the Ukraine f***ing everything in sight every which way to Tuesday. When they got to lovely Stalingrad they hit the brick wall of no return. The Ruskies then went on offensive and once in Germany and most especially Berlin they f***ed everything every which way till Very, Very LOOSE. There were no vag or sphincter muscles left in German frauleins but plenty of new fangled offspring. Jimbo your thoughts sir...

FZB, out of those 3 I'll only take camby. Then maybe Korver. Lewis sucks. He is 6'10, but he only plays SF. And he is to slow for a SF. In orlando they would have to use Hedo Turk as the PF because Lewis can't play PF.
Again Lewis's Contract and Skill is the reason Howard doesn't want to resign with Orlando. He screwed that team up just like Joe Johnson did the hawks. Those team couldn't upgrade for years cause of 1 huge contract. Then they didn't play to their contract as best player on the team being paid like a top 5 player in the NBA.

Posted by: Naples Jack | July 06, 2012 at 10:46 AM
Naples Jack we will see if it was diva Brady and his o coordinator that was the problem or Chad.
We need warm bodies at WR and we can cut him before week 1 and pay nothing unlike you guys who gave up 2 draft picks and 5 mil for him.
FZB I just don't get the sense that Ray Ray is coming back to Boston more money or not.
I hope he does but not seeing it.
He would get more minutes in Miami I think and that may be just what he wants.
That's a boat load more money to turn down though.
Posted by: Big Baby | July 06, 2012 at 10:58 AM
Naples, we have mutts throwing ?
I want you to know that Garrard will be come-back player of the year and we are going to make the playoffs...guarantee.
stop hatin on the Dolphins, there
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 11:02 AM
Baby,
its funny because I think most Heat fans think he is going back to Boston becasue of the money and a bunch of Celtics fans think he is going to the Heat.
to me is simple, follow the money trail..It would be hard to turn down that kind of money plus his teammates...I HOPE I'm wrong but he is staying with you guys.
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 11:13 AM
David Garrard is going to be the come-back player of the year and lead the Dolphins to the playoffs.
Tom Brady is a diva and a problem for his receivers.
Posted by: Delusional Denny | July 06, 2012 at 11:19 AM
Brandon Bass 12 and 6 last year solid PF just reupped for 3 years (not sure of terms) and Jeff Green is close to 4 yrs 40 million should be done by mid week.
Jason Terry is a ballah Sixth Man of the Year and very good career numbers thank you very much.
15 ppg in just over 30 minutes per last year.
Celtics have the makings of a very good team Ray Ray or no Ray Ray.
Posted by: Big Baby | July 06, 2012 at 11:20 AM
Baby...Now there's is you , me and Delusional Denny on the Garrard bandwagon.
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 11:28 AM
Nice the more the merrier!
Posted by: Big Baby | July 06, 2012 at 11:49 AM
Naples, Chad is on a minimum deal like baby says he doesn't cost us nothing on a position WR, were we only have 1 good player(Bess). The Dashi likes that Chad's a clown. He doesn't live in the Matrix with the RoboHenne's. Clown says he wants to challenge clyde in the 40. Yeah, he's full of it but if that motivates him I'm Ok with that.
But Clown is home now and U know at ur house they are certain things u can't do. He's not Marsha
People grow with age, u might not see it. The man got married, he's going to train with his personal WR coach. They are probably going to go over the playbook. He already called T-Hill about practicing. U think they will just be catching passes or going over the playbook.
If he sucks in the preseason we cut him, but if chad plays to his potential we get 1 more WR and according to him for 4 more years. I give him 2 at best.

Anybody besides me worried about this Hartline situation?
What the heck is going on is he hurt or what?
I also heard personal situation but that could mean just about anything.
This team is sunk without healthy and productive Hartline this year.
Posted by: Big Baby | July 06, 2012 at 12:02 PM
I believe Ray was sent down here to spy on us. The celtics don't have perimeter players. Avery will be coming back from a knee(ACL) injury. That usually takes a little longer for basketball players. They need the ability to cut on a dime. Specially a Guard. The Celtics actually need Allen more than Miami. He will be a great veteran to add, But boston needs a SG. I know they don't expect to start Rondo and terry.
I like DG as the QB over Moore. He fits the mold of what they want T-Hill to do. I hope ur right about comeback player of the Year, but I would still like to see T-Hill get sometime on the field. Even if it's at the end of the season.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 12:09 PM
Baby,
Hartline is fine, he was on the radio last week and said the problem was that he had to have an emergency appendectomy about a month and half ago but he is doing fine now and will be 100% healthy by the start of training camp.
no worries.
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 12:15 PM
Hartline BLOWS. Avery Bradley never hurt his knee you dumbass.
Posted by: Facts of life | July 06, 2012 at 12:18 PM
Hartline's YPC average is good if he could become more consistent he would be dangerous he is sneaky fast.
I never said Hartline hurt his knee anyway Mrs. Garrett thanks for the info FZB that makes me feel a lot better about that.
Ray Ray spying that's funny Celtics will be straight up loaded next year and should be a favorite to return to Conference Finals no spygate necessary.
Posted by: Big Baby | July 06, 2012 at 12:28 PM
Oh my bad he has a Shoulder that keeps popping out, even worst. I don't follow the celtics like that buddy. Avery would probably hurt his knee this year. Avery is injury prone. He was injured in college, Injured his rookie year, and he got injured last year.
How many times did he separated said Shoulder last year. 3-4 times before they ended his season. Celtics still need another SG
Hartline would be good if we have at least 2 other WR's with him on the field. Hopefully Clown works out. That would give us 3 good WR.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 12:31 PM
Sorry facts I thought that you were calling me out not dashi.
Avery Bradley is a lockdown defender and maybe a draft steal last year.
Heat fans are still smarting from that stuff he had on diva Wade that everyone saw.
Posted by: Big Baby | July 06, 2012 at 12:32 PM
Garrard comeback player of the year. Oh know where will we be without Hartline...I want to have Chad's babies...
We are talking about these players? We are screwed.
Posted by: scuba | July 06, 2012 at 12:37 PM
baby, don't get too carried away with Bradley..While he is a good defender and he had a bad shoulder D Wade was playing on one leg.
we will see this coming year if he can stay with wade.
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 12:41 PM
Naples you aren't fooling anyone.
Posted by: Big Baby | July 06, 2012 at 12:41 PM
U don't follow anything like that U just spout bullshit. He was injured in college, where he played every game his only year. He was injured his rookie year, when he was in the D-league and healthy all season. He was injured 3-4 times this year, except it was one catastrophic dislocation that happened in the playoffs. Celtics still need another SG, except Avery Bradley took Ray Allen's job and held it down until the playoffs, which is the reason they signed Terry and are willing to let Allen walk.
Just STFU, U have no idea what Ur talking about. On anything.
Posted by: Facts of life | July 06, 2012 at 12:48 PM
Why did Avery fall in the Draft? Injuries.
He was drafted in 2010, not last year. Him and Pitt came out of Texas the same year.
Why didn't he play his rookie season? Injuries.
Bradley is 6'2. He can be a lockdown defender all he wants when he is going up against a SG that is 4-6 inches taller he would be exposed. 6'2 is to short for a starting SG in the NBA. That's why i say the heat should go after G.Hill or Tracy.
U think Terry or Bradley will be shooting over those guys who are both 6'8 and long. On Offense it's a total mismatch. U can put Wade on Rondo, Tracy on the SG, Lebron on Pierce(or switch lebron with T-Mac), Battier/UD on Bass, and Bosh on KG. U would have 4 guys 6'8 and above that can shoot and pass(Wade is 6'4, but he can do the same). 3 guys that can play PG. and all 5 can rebound for their position
That would just be to finish the game, not the whole game don't take it literal. Chalmers/Cole should start at PG and someone else at C, with Bosh starting at PF.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 01:07 PM
No you can't put wade on rondo, defense gets to choose who to defend you moron. I don't believe this dashi dude is for real, no one is that dumb, he's just trolling to annoy people, i'm done.
Avery Bradley has never been injured in college or the nba before dislocating his shoulder, this troll is just making sht up so people will talk to him.
Posted by: Facts of life | July 06, 2012 at 01:17 PM
19th overall picks don't start off in the D-League. He was rehabbing a knee. Once he got better they put him on an NBA roster. The Celtics did it this year with Sullinger. Got a player that would've went higher if it wasn't for injury concerns.
Also AB needed surgery on both Shoulders this off season. Not Injury Prone?
He will be getting his right shoulder done in the next few weeks. Might as well but him in a body cast until the season starts.
Hey Idiot, don't start talking out ur ass. Typical Start the post with ur opinion sucks cause it's not mine. Blow me and after ur done swallow it.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 01:21 PM
lol.....This shit is entertaining.
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 01:28 PM
Fool if Wade is the Shortest person on the court for the Heat who will guard him for the Celtics? Ur definitely not going to put Rondo on the other 2.
U can dictate Match-ups not wait to adjust like Spo does. Remember when the Bulls had 3 perimeter players 6'6 or above starting.
I actually thought this clown was someone else from the regulars here that likes to post under many names? I guess not.
Ur the true Troll, my friend. U Come on here and just throw insults around with no Self-Respect.
I don't know U from a hole in the Wall. Even though it looks like U like Holes in a wall. Again close ur Mouth and Swallow.
Oh, and the whole I'ma take my ball and i'm going home attitude. Shows how little of a Man U are. Ur just use to beating on women and punks and no one fights back. Not here Buddy.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 01:36 PM
"Fight back" against people on the internet. Told ya, douchie is a troll and a fake persona, no one is really that dumb. No one but a troll would talk about fighting on the internet.

Baby, Carlos Lee is just as fat as Big Papi, just saying.
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 03:28 PM
Fact of life is U sound like a troll, not me. U are fighting back, I'm easy right now Clown. Trust Me.
It's hard to believe cause I know u will never reach my state of enlightenment. Dashi's don't get angry. I know u will never understand how that feels. Ur to Simple Minded, No Depth in ur Soul.
And can we please stop with all the F'n Nitpicking around here, feels like i'm talking to KAZ all the time. Always take 1 word the Dashi says and U make a whole post out of it. (Disclaimer: I know/hope that Special Needs Person above is not u Kaz)
Why don't u talk about beating on women or getting mistreated at work. U know the things u do when u are not on the internet. Sucking Dikc for Coke
The fool comes on here once and basically is only posting about the dashi and I'm the Troll. Fact is u haven't even posted on anything Greg has said. Who's Trolling for a Fight, not me. Don't let me beat U up with words cause u are just blatantly attacking me with insults. Again, Who's picking a Fight with Who? Not me, I'm just smacking u around for talking out of place.
If u start it, I will end U. If u don't start, I could care less. The Dashi has never come on here and thrown the first punch. Never have Never Will. That doesn't mean I can't or I Won't stand up for myself.
Anywhere, people that know how to fight don't start fights. I'm not saying i know how to fight, never have. I know how to protect myself and I'm not going to let a Troll Bully me. Don't confuse the Dashi with Jesus.
Come on is Troll the only word U know. Imbecile
Now on to the regularly scheduled programming, FZB no empiece. U know what the Beatles do to this blog.
Papi lost some weight this year. Lee will help with depth and competition for Gaby, he's no papi though. We still need to fix the closer problem we have and our Overall Team Hitting Sucks. The marlins have the talent were we should have at least 4-5 guys batting over .300. No one in the line up is batting over .300. Not even reyes or Infante, guys that bat over .320.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 04:03 PM
Dashi..lol bro,that's some funny shit, enlightenment ?
I do know what happened the last time I mentioned the Beatles, some of the guys got a little agitated, I'll try not to do it again.
C Lee is a good addition to the Marlins, this will make Gaby expendable and he won't be with the team too much longer.
since I don't think that R Allen is coming here, this is who I'll try to get..
Marcus Camby- mini-mid level
Rashard Lewis-vet's minimum
Kirk Hinrich-vet's minimum
ps-Camby and Lewis will visit this weekend.
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 04:34 PM
FZB, yeah me prendo from time to time. I stayed Enlightened
http://img.tfd.com/wn/E6/66F29-enlightened.png
I would love to see camby sign for the Mid-level. I would prefer T-mac or G.Hill over lewis. They can do more
Yeah, gaby's time might be about over. I was just trying to sound positive. We need a new hitting Coach.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 05:14 PM
Those were some good songs. U guys are right they are the greatest band ever.
Not my favorite band though. I would have to pick the Doors. Again I think the Beatles are The Greatest Band Ever, I just like the Doors more. Ray actually made the organ sound like a Cool instrument to play. Riders of the storm, Light my fire, Etc.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 05:30 PM
The Beatles sucked.

what you shoot today ?...140 ?...he he, me the only golf I ever have played is "miniature golf" and the Mrs even beats me at it, I'm terrible.

Dominoes is to exercise your mouth while golf is to exercise your right foot when you press it down to drive the little golf cart.

R Allen to the Heat !!!!
damn, I never saw THAT ONE coming, welcome mr. Allen, you are going to have a bunch of open looks.
we need to get a big man plus R Lewis.
Posted by: FZB | July 06, 2012 at 10:11 PM
Yes, on Allen. Hell yea.
Now we just need to get camby.
No on Lewis. He's 6'10, yet he plays small. I would still take him cause he will add depth, but I hope the heat find someone else.
Posted by: Dashi | July 06, 2012 at 10:38 PM
That's a big time signing by Pat Riley. The guy is just money. He should be considered for executive of the year and not just in the NBA.
Posted by: Mr. Woodcock | July 07, 2012 at 12:22 AM
dashi and anyone of you morons who think he's either funny or "entertaining" should be drowned in panther piss and buried in dashi.
you guys have given up this blog to an imbecile with way too much time on it's hands.

a pompas jerk not needed
Posted by: u | July 07, 2012 at 09:04 AM
What's up guys, where is every today?, it looks like Baby's hunch was correct.
I still can't believe that R Allen took 3 mil less to come to the heat, I guess he really didn't want to play with Rondo anymore..still, pat Riley is a closer.
This will balance out the guard position, wade can get more rest and Allen will have more open looks that he even thought possible.
We still need to get a big and it looks like R Lewis is interested in signing with us, its going to be a very interesting few days.
Posted by: FZB | July 07, 2012 at 12:32 PM
I had something for Slo' but I'm not even going to waste my time. Please, Just keep all ur anger directed at me. Don't bring anyone else into it. U Masochist
/On Subject
So today it's Camby? That would make it Complete. The Heat would have a legitimate Defensive Center. Bosh can stay at the PF, No R.Lewis please.
We will be giving Camby a Starting Job as the C on the next Championship Run. No other team is offering that. A Ring would make MC a First Ballot Hall-of-Famer for sure. He's up for the Discussion Now when he retires, but a ring will complete his career.
Do we cut Mike Miller? Sign and trade JA? Keep them both? Why Is WindnHorse allowed to talk heat basketball? Cause he followed lebron since high School?
He's followed him since high school and hasn't had a 1-on-1 interview yet. U talk about Horrible Journalism. WoW.
We just signed Ray and he is already talking about, How ray allen won't be seeing minutes with the heat. Now the rotation is Screwed. What B-Ball was FatBoy Watching the whole season? The heat won the title with a flawed team. We need more bench Scoring. We Need a Starting Center. Some better Coaching. Yes he did his job but he needs to keep growing as a Coach.
Maybe go find phil and smoke out in the Tee pee, talk Triangles and Squares and whatever other shapes he sees on the court. The Tao of B-Ball. How to Mind control the Ref's.
Shane and Ray should be the first 2 off the bench next season. We basically will have 2 teams If we can sign Camby. This team is finally going to be a good 10 deep. I hope Spo plays everybody next season.
That D-Wade is having surgery next week? Didn't D-wade get his knee done 2-weeks after the Finals. Our is he having a 2nd surgery.
Milk better fix his back or I don't see him coming back with that little scheme of his. Allen already had his ankle done a month ago so he can be ready for next season. Stop Milking it Mike #Let it Fly
Posted by: Dashi | July 07, 2012 at 12:34 PM
Big Baby- I only post as Naples Jack. I am not a shit stirer. Leave that to the other guys. As far as Brady being a diva with regards to chad, you are kidding right?
Posted by: Naples Jack | July 07, 2012 at 04:15 PM
FZB- Comeback player of the year!!! Playoffs!!!! You are not serious, are you? Remember, when you go into a season with 3 possible QBs, you dont have a starting QB. Garrard was a bum in JAX, you dont, have any offense, how the hell are you going to score points? Mark my word, Chad makes the Dolphins.
Posted by: Naples Jack | July 07, 2012 at 04:25 PM
If the Heat are able to get R Allen,R Lewis and M Camby in free agency then Pat Riley needs to be send to the middle east to broker a peace agreement there.
Naples Jack, I DO think the Dolphins will surprise a lot of people this year and Garrard is not bad at all, he is very capable, the key will be our offensive line, we'll be ok, you'll see.
you scared ?
Posted by: FZB | July 07, 2012 at 06:22 PM
Hey can't wait to watch Henne play for any team but Dolphins this year! That Chad is much more of a clown than Chad Ochostinco...
Posted by: duke | July 07, 2012 at 07:30 PM
Well, that's one way to get the Whiffer to stop Whiffing. So, no Marloon at the All-Star Game now? Good. This "team" deserves no honors.
Chad Henne is easily the worst player in the history of the Dolphins, and that includes the scabs from 1987.
Posted by: To Hell With David Samson | July 07, 2012 at 09:40 PM
Henne was an OK Qb. His main problem is he was associated with sporano and that he has always choked under pressure. Even going back to college. He was the Qb when Appalachian State beat Michigan. Talk about upset of the past decade.
I wouldn't doubt Henne plays better than gabbert. The Jags will start with Blaine but he looks like a bust. They will probably go with Chad after week 8.
Chad's only real problem is that he has no touch. How many times did u see Chad throw bullets into the flats. Over throws over the middle. The back endzone fade.
Was it just me or that was the most phantom-est shoulder injury ever. He fell to the ground no one hit him and he landed on the opposite shoulder he hurt. Henne literally just took a dive at the 50yd line.
The Qb competition is between 2 not 3. This is the deepest the Qb position has ever been under Jeff. 2 guys are playing for this year and we already have the future on the roster.
Playoffs? Maybe, wait till preseason is over before we start predicting the season.
