Honor America with an Obama Chia Head!; plus bowls & Bucky Badger's anger; Dolphins' playoff shot 9.7%; spoofing Tiger; Miley's tattoo & more

[Thanks to all you Live Chat Wednesday'ers. We do it every Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. in the frathouse we call the Q&A Forum. Click HERE to join live each week or to post questions any time].

1achiaobama OBAMA CHIA HEAD: OK don't say I never provided you with a great Christmas gift idea! Saw this in a holiday catalog; click here to see I'm not lying. It may or may not be in bad taste. I think it's kind of fun, in an absolutely ridiculous sort of way. UPDATE: Click here for "Chia Obama" song to tune of "Viva Las Vegas." God what a great country.

1abadger LET'S GO BOWLING: Hurricanes vs. Wisconson in the Champs Sports Bowl! Are we excited? Thinking yes, if only because Orlando makes it easy traveling. Both teams 9-3. Guessing UM (15th in the final BCS rankings to Wisconsin's 25th) will be favored by four points or so. Also thinking this result -- bagging a 10-win season vs. ending with a disappointing loss -- will determine how most Canes fans judge this season and, by extension, Randy Shannon. Am I right? Wisconsin, which UM has played only three times and not since 1989, does not enjoy a great tradition in football. That may be why mascot Bucky Badger (pictured) always seems very angry. Wisconsin claims one national title, in 1942, but it doesn't count. They were only named champions by something called the "Helms Athletic Foundation," which is sort of like being named national champion by the Madison Elks Lodge. This, too, fuels the sense of disrespect giving rise to Bucky Badger's deep-seated anger.

Bowls We Give a Crap About (chronologically):

Dec. 26 Meineke, Charlotte: Pitt-North Carolina. Dave Wannstedt vs. Butch Davis.

Dec. 29 Champs Sports, Orlando: Miami-Wisconsin. UM's first in-state bowl in six years.

Jan. 1 Gator, Jacksonville: Florida State-West Virginia: Bobby Bowden's farewell and weepfest.

Jan. 1 Sugar, New Orleans: Florida-Cincinnati: Tim Tebow era ends with consolation game.

Jan. 4 Fiesta, Glendale, AZ: Boise State-TCU. National seat of anti-BCS kvetching and bitching.

Jan. 5 Orange, Miami: Iowa-Georgia Tech. Are we excited about the matchup, Mi-a-muh?

Jan. 7 BCS Championship, Pasadena: Texas-Alabama. Exciting finale. Except to Gator fans.

DOLPHINS PLAYOFF CHANCES: A site I like called Coolstandings projects the 6-6 Dolphins' playoff chances right now at 9.7%. But watch that number triple or so if Miami wins this coming Sunday in Jacksonville, which ranks ahead of the Dolphs for now in the wild-card pecking order. UPDATE: Tom Brady questions his teammates' committment in wake of loss to Miami. Interesting. Click here.

1aatiger SNL ON TIGER: For those who don't stay up late or think Saturday Night Live ended when John Belushi died, click here for a video from this past Saturday lampooning Tiger Woods' infidelity. Some critics say it goes too far by making light of domestic violence. Bull-oney! I think it's really funny. (I also think Tiger's claim to "privacy" doesn't fly and that, as a famous hound who got caught, he pretty much has richly earned the uncomfortable attention). UPDATE: New CNN poll on Tiger in wake of Cheatgate. Of those with opinion it's 60% favorable to 25% unfavorable. Pre-scandal it was 84 to 9.

MRS. CLAUS CHEATS ON SANTA: That Tiger skit reminded me about the Claus family scandal that has not gotten nearly as much attention. Click here to see what I mean.

1arobinw DEAR GREG...: Your blog's OK but would be better if occasionally you'd show a picture of Robin Williams wearing a T-shirt that reads 'I Love New York' in Arabic. Thank you.

UM BASKETBALL FINALLY LOSES: Canes men finally drop one at Boston College after starting season a perfect 8-0. Confused, several 1972 Dolphins celebrate with champagne.

VETERANS COMMITTEE STRIKES AGAIN: Longtime umpire Doug Harvey and one-time World Series-winning manager Whitey Herzog have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Hall's Veterans Committee. Analysts say it further suggests the Hall's Veterans Committee may be suffering from dementia and should be disbanded.

1amiley MILEY CYRUS GETS TATTOO: Being a full-service blog, I feel compelled to report that teen Disney star Miley Cyrus has a new tattoo beneath her left breast that is reported to read, 'Just Breathe' in script -- visible only when she is wearing a bikini like this. This photo was taken in Miami, which is the only reason I am featuring it here.

PERSONAL NOTE: Several e-mailers have wondered why I've had fewer columns in the paper lately. Answer: Had a few weeks' vacation left that I've needed to use piecemeal before the end of the year, so my recent workweeks have been limited to my Friday NFL picks, the blog and just the occasional column. Thanks for noticing and I'll be back in full rotation soon.

Click back. Might be adding more stuff to this post later...

Greg,

Do you think, perhaps, that Miley Cyrus' "just Breathe" tattoo and location is nothing more than a simple reminder for those she chooses to have directly in front of her? You know, just breathe - in, out...in, out...in, out...

OC, oh golly gee Beave! Gee Ward, you were sure hard on the Beaver last night!

Wisconsin not having a rich football tradition. Wait till you see our big beer brat and cheese fed O-line. By the way we all know the National championship thing is a crock, Wisconsin has plenty of Rose Bowl wins and one of the greatest Heisman trophy recipients in Ron Dayne to boot. Plenty of football tradition up here, may the best team win.

Jungers, Rist, Sampson, Uchitel, Grubbs, Moquin, Lawton, Un-ID'ed #1, #2 and #3.

Tiger is now at 10 under, with perhaps an insurmountable Swede.

OMGosh, LMAO!!!!
Insurmountable...classic.
Considering everything, Tiger's last name tells all.

Thanks IMAWriterRobJ,

I knew a writer would appreciate that one. I give Greg only a few days before he rips that one off.

Mr. Cote,

Please have a seat over here. This is DATELINE NBC to catch a predator.

Cote is a racist!

Not really...i just wanted to be the first to say it...i thought it was the newest trend.

Kind of like being "first" on a blog

Could Cote's excuse for his absence be kind of like the restaurant that has a sign out front that says "closed for remodeling"? Just wondering out loud. I did read the Herald is laying off staff.

what, dear tom, would YOU know about "laying" anything? i'm sure between you and tim tebow, there is TONS of knowledge about female genitalia.. and since you wanted to bring up moms, tell yours i said hello and i'll be coming around soon.. she LOVES jewish guys, by the way..

shadow,

Oden out for the season. As you may well note, I've been hanging around the same general zip code as many of your observations: Oden, Bess, etc. The one recent exception may be, the one peanut for Thanksgiving blond encrusted jockeys with all those movements of John Travolta. I humbly suggest that size does matter. Anyway,...

here's my question to you this evening (and to any of those regulars wishing to post their personal choice).

If you found yourself on that proverbial stranded island, or, like George Wells in The Time Machine, what musical album would take forward into the future?????

After careful consideration, my clear choice would be:

Led Zeppelin I

yah sure david with the highlights and lisp . you know what I'm talking about.

and jack? keep talking out of your a s s. you can question my football knowledge all you want, but i do know one thing. we kicked the crap out of your team yesterday, our rookie QB had a field day against your sorry defense, and your team is going nowhere. champions don't lose 2 in a row this time of year. you have no defense and brady is not the same. other than that, i guess i don't know football. piss off, already.. lol

In about two hundred years from now guys will be sipping beers at a local bar reminising about some guy named Tiger who had more pussy than Wilt Chamberlain. After a moments pause some Shemp will go, "Wasn't he a pretty good golfer too? I think he may have won a few tournaments. No wait maybe that was the Australian guy I'm confusing him with 'Shark' or 'The Shark' I think his name was ..."

OC Dolphin.....

On your album question, after very careful consideration ...for me it has to be

st peppers...close second...dark side of the moon

Hey, where in the hell are naplesjack and the bostonian?...come out and take your whooping boys.

OC Dolphin,

for me, "The Who Sell Out", followed closely by The Byrds' "Sweetheart of the Rodeo". the competition is very tough!!

Greg,

so the talentless little twirpette got herself a tattoo- "breathe easy, i am now over 18!!"

FZB,
Kurt is AWOL also

OC, Gotta go with Pink Floyd's"the wall" and then maybe "dark side of the moon" and of coarse The Doors, Jim Morrison's "This is the end" would be fitting being stranded on a Island....

shadow,

That selection of yours is an absolute "the shadow knows" classic. I had forgotten all about this album. Leave it to you to dust off the original lampooning of commercialism. "Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand. What they done to a man, those shaky hands..."

FZB with Sgt Peppers - strong
ANTI with The Wall - another good one.

I've always found the ending scene in the original "Time Machine" fascinating. The one that has George going back (forward) in the time machine after taking three books. Filby then asks Mrs. Hatchett - "which three books would you have taken?"

I suppose under that particular scenario an educational music album would be more appropriate, rather than our personal favorite...Nah, forget it. The Eloi will just have to rock on.

dave in los angeles- Like I said, you are the colonel klink of the site, YOU KNOW NOTHING!!!! Just to bring you up to speed, HENNE IS NOT A ROOKIE!!!!!! This is his second year. hahahahaha LOL

FZB- I have not gone anywhere. I am still around, unlike our loveable flipper72, who went into the witness protection program after the chargers game. It will take more then a couple of lousey games, to run off this old veteran.

dave, by the way, 22-21 was the final score. Last time I checked, nobody would call that KICKING THE CRAP out of a team. AHHHH, like I said, talking to you is like TAKING CANDY FROM A BABY.

YOU KNOW SOMETIMES BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY AT SOM ETHING. YOU MIGHT NEED TO VIEW IT. THAT OBAMA CHIA WAS SO FUN NY, U NTIL I COULDN'T GET ANGRY. THE SO G THAT WENT WITH IT WAS VERY FU NY TO. OBAM IS A GREAT MAN AND PRESIDENT . I BELIEVE HE TO WOULD FIND THAT HILARIOUS. PSALMS 5

The Chia Obama might be the best thing ole lifty might be famous for in 2059, or better yet i can now see a 108 year old Alex Trebeck say " he accomplish nothing for 4 years except the Chia pet, named after him" then i can hear a 88 year old Ken Jennings answer "Who is Barack Obama"

Though Iam sure my post will be Deleted by Lefty Greg Cote......

Thanks Jimbo, I had forgotten about old Kurt..

Hey naplesjack...what are the chances of the patsies going down this week ?? man, if THAT happens belli-cheat's head will explode .

OC---here are a couple of more LP's to consider.
I was always very fond of hendrixs "Electric ladyland" ....and santana's Abraxas.

he can be considered a rookie, you ignorant moron, because he only started playing this year, 3 GAMES into the season, in fact.
and holding the "amazing patriot offense" to NO POINTS in almost 2 final quarters in a division game with huge playoff ramifications IS KICKING THE CRAP, dummy. you suck. your team stunk the joint up. your QB is a bigger whiner than even YOU. what a game.. glad i am down here in my beloved miami to witness, in person, the beginning of the transfer of power in our division. you had a nice run, jack. just like your robbing republican brethren. now go sit on the beach in naples, figure out how to get an erection, and STFU!
go dolphins!

the best part was that cry baby brady throwing his team under the bus.. saying THEY needed to work harder, when HE was the one that turned the ball over 2 TIMES.. marino would never have done that. or manning. great QB's and leaders take responsibility.. you wouldn't know ANYTHING about that, naples.. lol..

shadow.. ONE record? impossible.. but here are some..
revolver - the beatles
pet sounds - the beach boys
houses of the holy - led zeppelin
the nightfly - donald fagen
shadows and light - joni mitchell
axis: bold as love - jimi hendrix
a love supreme - john coltrane
miles davis - workin

damn.. i could go on forever..

Gollllleee david in l.a.

Yue shure r smartt

dave- CONSIDERED A ROOKIE,hahahaha.LOL STUPID.haha Who do you think will win the rookie of the year this year? Who you voteing for, FLACCO-RYAN, hahaha.

dave- keep opening your mouth, your stupidity is ammazing. You have to be no older then 25yrs old, to not remember marino throwing everybody under the bus when he had a bad game. He would yell at everybody comming of the field. He even laughed about it on tv. Like I keep telling you, talking to you is like taking candy from a baby.

david in los angeles

Wow I must have hit a nerve. That joke about your dad kicking your mom in the a$$ for not swallowing was just that, a joke. But from your over the top response, I take it your dad really did kick your mom in the a$$ for not swallowing YOU! I think we all understand why.

I see you missed your meds today. Yikes!!

Time Machine album well, "Boxcar Willie's Greatest Hits of Course." No actually, "Best Of Jimi Hendrix." Four cds great long version of Red House. Beatles BBC cd very good too...

Oh my god watch this. Miami swagger doesn't stop at the 9 titles and the countless legends. Even the ladies have U swag... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnJnA_mt_UA

Beatles had quite the fertile period for music writing. One great tune after another, after, after another etc etc etc...

Miley is a cute little thang don't ya think?

Tom,,
or the quip,, "the best part of you ran down your Mamma's leg." gotta hand it to you and naplesjack entertaining the youngster.

musical comment.
beatles white album might be the best original
some others
eagles - long road - stacked with top 40 hits.

david, i gotta argue that Zepplins best album was Physical Graffiti. Double album with little BS filler.

duke,

love the Boxcar Willie plug.

Greg,

so the talentless little twirpette got herself a tattoo- "breathe easy, i am now over 18!!"

Dude, that is soooo funny, I'm in stitches!!!
Reminds me of an old joke:
Old pedifile makes remark to judge before he is sentenced for molestation: "How could I know she was only 13, she looked 15 to me."

Is there a better white trash representing couple than this?

Knowing that Tiger prefers to prowl around trailer parks, and pounce on minimal wage, I was searching and came across this.

Check out the dude. Oh, and why is he wearing NE colors?

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t17/jdonaldmiller/WhiteTrash.jpg

Sorry, looks like the link is off.

duke,

Cue the Deliverance soundtrack.

Tiger is doing his best JFK imitation. Not bad Tiger.

As a person who is new to this site, there is some funny stuff here. As a life long green bay fan from the midwest, now in Vero Beach, my neighbor told me to check out this blog. As someone on the outside looking in, I have some advise for david from los angeles. I dont have a horse in this race, so take this thought seriously. This guy jack, is beating you like a rented mule. To call Henne a rookie, not good. Your come backs are child like. Another thing, all great QBS, earned the right to say things. Farve,Marino,Bradshaw,Montana, they are the team leaders. If you think this guy Brady is the first, you are out of touch.

david in los angeles you should listen to SAL MONELLA he's a pre-med major.

Talking about Tiger, Gatorade released a statement Tuesday saying the move to discontinue its “Tiger Focus” drink had nothing to do with the golfer’s growing scandal and that the decision was made before Tiger’s car crash and allegations of extra marital affairs.

Yeah right. This has nothing to do with porking porn stars. Next thing you're gonna want us to believe is that david in los angeles's parents aren't siblings.

Tom,
they aren't? shoooot, I thought they relocated from West Virginia 20 yrs back. They were going to move to Idaho but didn't want their little girl who had aspirations of becoming Miss America called "Miss I-DA-HO." seems irrelevant now though doesn't it?

Welcome to the Club Sal Monella. I had a friend Al Coholic who used to contribute on here but has moved on.

Greg,

The AP photographer that shot the photo of Obama's speach at the Brookings Institute deserves a Pulitzer. Check it out on the Home page of your paper. He framed it in such a way, almost suggesting that with all that bailout money Barack is an ING BRO.

http://www.miamiherald.com/

Wow, didn't take long to conveniently update the Home Page.

Tigers latest babe

http://www.boobpedia.com/boobs/Joslyn_James

I'm disappointed he gets into those fake balloons.

I was out a while, so I need to respond to topics on this blog rather than the previous ones. This one on the BCS.

Shadow, I also disagree with you on Texas and the Big 12. Texas did not find a way to win. Nebraska found a way to lose, 3 times. They finally started moving the ball and then played for the FG rather than another 1st down. Yes, the defense stopped UT pretty well all game, but that was on 3 downs. UT would have 4.

Next, the kicker kicks it ouf of bounds putting it on the 40. Then a personal foul puts UT in FG range. All major mistakes handing the win to Texas.

If there is any doubt yet about bias in officiating in sports, the Texas-Neb game was prime. The BCS did not want a TCU, Cinci, Boise St discussion, nor did they want any of those teams in the title game. They wanted Texas to win. Phantom interference call put UT in FG range and 3 points to give them 10. Then, Texas was not called for interference on a very similar call that was made on Neb earlier, face guarding. That would have put Neb in FG range.

Texas plays in a weak conference and played all weak non-conference games. They should've lost to Oklahoma and to Texas. They barely beat
Texas A&M ranked 107th in defense. And they now barely beat the worst offense in football.

However, the bowl games are about preparation and about particular matchups. On paper, I'd say Alabama slaughters Texas. But look how Auburn made a game out of it, stopping Ingram.
Although I think texas could pull it out, I do NOT think they deserve to be in the title game.

Several 2 or 3 loss teams could beat Texas and I think TCU would match up beter with Alabama.

Heisman discussion:

I think the most deserving of the 5 are Gerhart and Suh. Tebow is in last. In fact, he was lucky to get in over the Boise St QB and the Clemson dude.

Gerhart and Suh are extremely dominating factors in their teams. Ingram and McCoy have size and talent surrounding them, making them look better.

But, that's the way the NCAA works. They give it to the players on top ranked teams. So I think it will be given to Ingram or McCoy. They might pick McCoy for all his years. Or they may pick Ingram for a more impressive cnference championship game, not to mention McCoy's major blunder to almost lose the game,

Bowl games:

I think there are some really bad matchups.

6-6 FSU vs W. Virginia.

But even worse, TCU vs Boise St. How did the schools agree to this? Both schools could've had a chance to build on Boise's win over Oklahoma 2 years ago and on Utah's win over Alabama. They could have built more respect for their conferences. Whoever wins the game, no one will care.

Saints, Colts:

No one has been writing about this lately. They will likely meet both as 18-0's and break the 72 Phins record, fittingly in Miami.

Marino predicted the Colts could get the perfect season. He's looking smart now. No one left to challenge either team.

But how about that Saints-Redskins game? How traumatic was that for 72 fans. How does the guy miss a 23 yd FG sealing the Saints loss? If they go undefeated, I will forever hate the kicker..and the guy who fumbled in OT.

Dolphins

I do not see how we can win 4 in a row at hot Jax and Tenn. And then home to Houston (who we've never beaten) and then Pittsburgh as poor as they appear to be. But if we do win those 4 games, I think we will be in.

Then we'll beat the unbeaten Colts. And in the Super Bowl,we'll beat the unbeaten Saints. Nice dream isn't it?

We can't win the division. NE has easy games at Buffalo and Houston and home games vs Jax and Carolina.

World Cup.

Shadow, did you watch the World Cup Draw on Friday? Supposedly watched by almost a billion.

What do you think of the US' draw. A fun game vs England. Then Algeria and Slovenia. Not guaranteed wins as Algeria knocked off Egypt and Slovenia knocked off Russia. But we could've had much worse.

Cheating Italy is a given a free ride. And cheating France was given the group that they and FIFA wanted them to have. I suspect rigging.

I think FIFA's method for doing the draw was finally right. They used the method I said they should use for years, doing it geographically instead of being based on rankings. Only the seeds were done using their stupid ranking system. In my opinion, it should've been done on performance during qualifying as well as in the past continental championships for S. Amer and for Europe.

In any case, I think the seeded teams are mostly accurate. The host team always gets seeded even if they stink; because FIFA wants to improve their odds of not being eliminated in the first round. The only one I don't agree with is Argentina. Paraguay did much better in qualifying. But just like TCU and Texas, one of them is the bigger name.

Tom, I agree with you. Not sure what he sees in fakes when he doesn't have to.

Tom,

This is getting crazier by the second. If it weren't so obviously down most men's horn dog strike zone, and thus funny, it would be sad indeed. LA Dave seems to think he'll overcome this, I'm not so sure.

I think duke was on to something when he wrote earlier today about a future reference to Tiger in manner Hugh Hefner would be proud. In that future reference, apparently Tiger also seemed to have won a few golf tournaments. Much like Wilt banging some 400 chicks in 400 days, or whatever that was. Oh yes, Wilt did play basketball too and some volley ball, didn't he?

Even though the Phins need Denver and Jax to start losing, I will hope one of them beats the Colts as unlikely that is.

The Saints have no chance of losing with games against Atlanta, Dallas, Tampa and Carolina. One might hope Dallas could do it, but sincerely doubt it.

After seeing the Vikings flounder, I don't think they will beat the Saints. For the AFC playoffs, I think NE or Cinci can beat the Colts but probably won't. San Diego is looking hot now, so maybe.

mike1....

I know you're on a roll, but if either the Saints or the Colts go "perfecto"...they won't break the dolphins record....they will only tie it...

FZB is right. You can't exceed perfection, you can only match it. Undefeated and winning the SB is the best you can do.

I don't think the country will see it that way. 19-0 vs 17-0. Anyway, it's nice to be alone in history. Just how did the Redskins blow it

Has anyone in the media yet mentioned that if this was 1972, the Saints would now be blemished with a tie? There were no two point plays or overtime games yet. No one is going to put perspective into this. They will merely see 19-0 vs 17-0.

I still have my doubts that either team could end up 19-0.

That Chia Obama youtube video is hilarious. I have a couple of moonbats in my family who really deserve the Chia. It will be a Merry Christmas when they get their Chia......for me!

henne has played 9 games in his whole career. he was the back-up until thrust in the starting role. he was an unproven commodity, so the rookie comparison is not off base. it is a semantics battle, and the fact is, it is meaningless. henne was the better QB on sunday, and miami was the better team. no matter what the fascist lunatics on this blog scream about, that fact remains. naples, you are an idiot, plain and simple. marino always took responsibility. sure he yelled at the team, but he also took responsibility. brady turned the ball over twice, and said nothing.
tom, tell your mom i said hello; and i'll go easy next time; we didn't want to wake your father up.
jimbo, it was a close call between physical and houses. i opted for houses because song for song, i think it is the strongest collection of songs on one record. but it was a close call.
as for knocking my parents, they are proud they raised a talented musician who kicks the crap out of corporate c**k sucking idiots. you know, the ones that answer facts with insults and invective. for the record, i am 39, i look 29, and i have sex with girls that are all your daughter's age. and when i am on the road, well, they just might BE your daughters..
good night, gentleman.
oh, and sal? i never said brady was the first. when you are a dolphin fan on a dolphin blog reading the trite that comes out of naples, you would think brady was the greatest thing since sliced bread. he is an overrated crybaby. kind of like the greenbay fans..

david, boy you sure gotta purdy mouth.

david in los angeles you're 39, but look 29, and you have sex with girls. wow amazing. i am impressed.

Conan O'Brien's joke last night is worth repeating.

...Tiger's troubles continue to mount, as sponsor - Gatorade - decided it would be inappropriate to have Tiger anywhere near their tagline - "is it in you?"

Tom- The best part about dave is, he has to brag about his glorious life. Mind you, this comming from a guy who told us all on this site, his parents help him with his medical coverage.hahaha. A talented musician? You mean you are one of thousands of wannabe musicians out there. What is the union scale right know? You sound like you play with sting, or bruce springsteen, maybe jay leno. Tell us my friend, is it the guys playing on street corners?

Tom- Its more like he is 29, looks 19, and acts like 9.

sal, you better be careful, our boy wonder has you on hit list.

naples, why the insults? the stock market was down yesterday? when people like YOU take shots at my life, i WILL brag. i suppose if i was waiting to die in naples, blogging on a dolphin site when i am a patriot fan, (alzheimer's?) i would have nothing to do but insult other people. i've had lapses in coverage and got help from my family.. so? i am grateful i had that option, unlike the millions of others that are victims of the corporations. who WOULDN'T take advantage of that if they could? as for being a wannabe, life is up and down in the music business, especially since the republicans, (with help from the spineless democrats), destroyed the economy. at any rate, you can go from making thousands a week, to hoping the phone rings. that's my life, i chose it, and i wouldn't have it any other way. i have been blessed to play with many of my heroes, i am endorsed by ludwig drums, zildjian cymbals, and vater sticks. if anyone is interested, by all means, check out my bio on the vater artist page.
http://www.vater.com/artists/artistpage.cfm?ID=807&Country=artists.
wannabee? lol.. you guys are ridiculous.. but i still love ya..

Look guys. We can have constructive disagreements on subjects and pick on each other's teams for fun. But insulting each other is not mature and takes up space. Although sometimes it's fun reading you go at each other.

dave in los angeles- I love you to. Just for the record, I am not as old as you think. Was just fortunate to retire at a young age. Glad to see you were paying attention to the stock market yesterday.

I was a mewsician awt one time, then I swarted chasing that wascally wabbit and I've newer bween da same since.

Pardon me , but I have to disagree with naplesjackpatsfan...Marino did rip teammates on the field right or wrong, but I cannot remember him doing it in press conferences. He laughed at himself in those news conferences, not at his teammates. And to agree with you sir, Henne is NOT a rookie, unless you revise the word rookie to mean first and second year, 22-21 is not a butt whipping although the second half Miami did completely control NE.

Best album: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

Wait "Slim Whitman's
Greatest Hits" featuring 2hr live version of "Indian Love Call." I think that's what Special Forces used to finally get Noriega to come out and surrender...

We play "Indian Love Call" everytime we score TD, FG or Safety WE NEVER LOSE AGAIN!!!!!

When you're expected to lose big, a one point win seems like a blowout.

Naples will probably appreciate this first album in my list:

Boston, by Boston. Rumors, Fleetwood Mac. Days of the Future Passed, Moody Blues. Crimes of Passion and Precious Time, Pat Benatar. Whatever the album name was for Traffic's "John Barleycorn Must Die". Numerous Blondie albums. Jethro Tull had a real good one. Berlin's..the one with "Metro". Blondie has to be the most diverse music group with #1 or top 10 hits in all genre.

All of the above had all, or almost all good songs.

The House subcommittee passed a bill to prevent the NCAA from calling any game a national championship game if playoffs are not involved. I'm all in favor of this. I don't care if politicians are mixing in, doing away with the bias in the major conferences is long overdue. NCAA is making no efforts to fix the mess that the BCS is. Anyway, this is an anti-trust case, so it does belong in politics.

Consider that coaches voting is a big factor in BCS rankings. They are biased for one thing. But also, how do they know anything about the teams? They don't have time to watch all the game and analyze them. All they can do is is go by records, stats, and assumptions that the traditional conferences are superior.

mike1- lets keep all politicians out of sports!!

mike1,

didn't watch the draw; US and england shouldn't have much trouble getting to the knockout stage, even though the brits have no goalkeepers. the group with cameroon, holland and denmark with ? seems like the toughest one to me.

Jimbo,

glad you liked the observation concerning the talentless twirpette!!

Elmer Fudd... jeeze. lol, welcome back!

Hey Jimbo, shadow you mean that sweet young thang Miley throws herself at you and squeals, "Daddy Oh Daddy I Just Want You Inside Me Now Or I'll Just Bust!" You guys aren't gonna cum to her, in her time of distress?!

I thought you guys were humanists!

Since david in los angeles and naplesjack have finally stop insulting each other, can we please get back to dolphins talk???

question for my fellow bloggers...what are the chances of the dolphins winning these last four games ??? ...is that going to be good enough to make the playoffs?

hey naples, did you see that bellicheat send four players home today for coming in late to a team meeting??? ...a little trouble brewing in BASTON ?

last, I often wondered about this...Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets ?

FZB THE AFC IS OURS!!!!! I don't know all mathematical formulations I just know AFC EAST TITLE BELONGS TO THE DOLPHINS! Buffalo will stomp the snot out of the Petty Coat Pats! IF NOT GOD WILL!!!!!

In the spirit of Christmas and reconciliation with all political enemies, I bought a Chia Obama for the front step of my house. It's great. My own Chia Obama. I love it. And I've also noticed my dog seems to be taken by the Chia Obama. Who wouldn't be? Unfortunately, I think I might send it back. My Chia Obama grew hair be it's not green, instead it's a rather disgusting looking piss yellow. I suspect global warming is causing this. I have a call in to the inventor of the internet to see what he thinks.

Tom, we need some of that ficticous global warming here in Colorado.

duke, I'd have to face that peril myself.

I'm hoping Fins go 4-0 but feel 3-1 is more realistic.

all is not well in New England. ESPN reports that Moss and 3 others were late for practice today and sent home. Discipline pending.

On second thought I think Tiger is freaking nuts for cheating on his wife.

Jimbo

I has become abundantly clear that "man-made global warming" is based on science that was created with a pencil and eraser.

Jimbo that sentence should have started "It"

mike1,

looking at your musical favorites i am imagining that you are at least twenty years younger than the OLD shadow!! i have never listened to a pink floyd or moody blues album in their entirities and avoid any of their music (with the exception of "go now", one of the great records of the british invasion.)

E-N-T-I-R-E-T-I-E-S is the way i believe it should have been spelled.

OC Dolphin and david in los angeles,

tonight, for the first time, and based on my taste and my taste alone, the greatest album by each of the singers or great groups of the era when album music counted- let us say 63/64 to about 74/75, the time when "feats don't fail me now" came out; i am sure you are each holding your breath in suspense!!
