[It's LIVE-CHAT WEDNESDAY! Join us today from 1-2 p.m. Two weeks ago we were at a different time. Last week we were snuffed by technical problems. This week we're back to normal. Click HERE to join us at 1 or to post questions early].
RICKY HONORED: Ricky Williams today named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for last week's three-TD effort at Carolina.
GINN SKEWERED IN VIDEO: Our friend Ted Ginn Jr. gets the parody treatment in a new YouTube video set to the tune of Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot." Pretty clever, I must say. Click here for the vid.
BROWNS MAY TRY TO LURE PARCELLS: The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Tony Grossi, who has covered the NFL since helmets were turtle shells, reports -- citing an anonymous source -- that the hapless Browns may try to lure famed team rebuilder Bill Parcells from the Dolphins after the season, and that his contract would allow him to leave and still be paid by Miami. Click here for the unsettling tale. Hard to imagine it happening. Then again the inscrutable Parcells is a nomad who loves a challenge and, at 68, might have one more big one in him. (Dear Tuna: have you checked the weather in Cleveland lately?)
CANES VS. PITT, WANNSTEDT IN BOWL?: Interesting. Hurricanes up from 20th to 17th in latest BCS rankings, and now ESPN's updated bowl projections have UM-Pitt on Jan. 1 in the Gator Bowl in Jax. That'd be tasty, considering Panthers coach Dave Wannstedt is of course a former UM assistant and Dolphins coach. Return of the Wannstache! Or not. Website has two guessers predictors and the other guy sees UM-Northwestern in Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando. Zzz.
RICKY'S PRANIC HEALER: Here's what I love about Ricky Williams. He is such a freakin' free spirit -- genuinely, not contrived -- that no matter what you hear he is into, it's like, "Yeah, that makes sense." That was the reaction to colleague Barry Jackson's piece on Ricky's involvement with a "pranic healer." His guru, Daniel O'Hara of Orange County, Calif. -- pictured right -- gives an example of pranic healing, saying he might "visualize Ricky's ankle as if he's standing in front of me. I visualize him glowing. I make a sweeping motion over my ankle to remove the dirty energy from his ankle that's creating an abnormality and give his body fresh, revitalizing energy.'' Imagine if Dwyane Wade of Hanley Ramirez swore by such a "healer"? It'd be news, a controversy. With Ricky, it seems normal. South Florida has never had a more odd, fascinating athlete.
HOW THE BEAVER LOOKS AT 61: Faint memories of Jerry Mathers as the Beaver in TV's "Leave It to Beaver" sitcom? Then you might be interested in scrutinizing this rather bizarre photo (right) of Mathers today. Today's question: Whose fixed smile is creepier: Pranic healer Daniel O'Hara's? Or the Beaver's?
HOW TO FIX NASCAR: Covered yesterday's big Homestead race; click here for my Jimmie Johnson column. I follow NASCAR. Like it. (I'm one of the Juniorites with the unrequited wish that No. 88 would do something, please). I also recognize NASCAR is not perfect. This was the fifth straight year the big season finale here has been anticlimactic because the points leader could all but back into the season title. For NASCAR to have its Super Bowl the final race must have a competitive, winner-take-all feel every year. I'd scrap the Chase for the Cup format. The 12-driver/10-race thing was an interesting, bold idea that has not produced the desired results. My solution: Let the first 35 races set the field for the 36th and final race. Only the top 20 drivers get in, determined thusly: Any driver who has won at least one race that season, plus a free entry to the defending series champ if he hasn't won. Balance of field is made up of non-winners with the most points. Homestead grid is determined not by qualifying times, but by most season wins, with most points as the tiebreaker. Cars start at 3-second intervals. That gives you an exclusive 20-car field weighted by season results, yet giving everybody a shot. That gives NASCAR its Super Bowl. (Pictured: Jimmie Johnson either waving, or guaranteeing a fifth straight season title next year).
QUITE A SACRIFICE: In Nepal, 200,000 buffaloes, goats, chickens and pigeons are being killed in a religious sacrifice. Cannot yet confirm speculation PETA plans to dispatch 200,000 naked women in protest.
FANTASY LOSSES UNABATING: My Bad Newz Fennelz fell to 3-8 with a 107-73 loss; Drew Brees had 22 points for me. Greg's Lobos fell to 4-7 with a 117-98 loss, despite Tony Gonzalez's 22.
KOBE BRYANT SHOWS OFF: Kobe gets hip-checked over the baseline Sunday and sinks a shot from behind the basket. What? Like you didn't think he could? Click here for video; the shot comes at around 7-10 second mark.
WIFE OF DOLPHINS PART-OWNER FALLS ON ASS AT AWARDS SHOW: J-Lo went O-No at the AMA music awards last night, falling on her bum during a song performance. Click here for the quick vid that makes Jennifer Lopez wish YouTube had never been invented. Also at the ceremony, Michael Jackson reminded us that, while dying tends to ruin a guy's year, dying also can be good for business as Michael posthumously won four awards. It was a big night overall for creepy androgyny, as Adam Lambert also performed.
LATEST ROUND OF THANKS...: ...to Chicago Daily Herald, Florida Times-Union, Kamloops (BC) News, Los Angeles Times, Merced (CA) Sun-Star, Orange County Register, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, San Jose Mercury News, Seattle Times, and, as always, 790 The Ticket and Le Batard for the regular Tuesday bit.
Click back. Adding more stuff here throughout day. Seriously.

Forgive me. My convoluted point was Cable becomes motivational enforcer on Dolphins once Parcell's leaves. Al Davis and DuhMarcus Raider will be flown in as Resusci-moronic dolls to demonstrate Mr. Cable has forgotten more regarding the dispensing pain than you or I will ever know...

I forgive you duke; however, Mr D no longer flies. They bring a blow up doll dressed like Al to the games...very sad...

Iam surprised that Jen-lo didnt bounce right back up with that fat ass of hers...
Posted by: THE ANTI CHRIST | November 23, 2009 at 04:12 PM
a few good things to talk about today....
ON Tuna to Cleveland, I'm sure he is strongly considering living in such a fine city ( cleveland ) were he can golf year round and be able to purchase prime beach front property....
Canes / wanny clu-less....it will give me great
satisfaction if the canes can whup his ass, he alone set the dolphins back a decade...the guy is a complete moron
Ricky's pranic healer- hey you guys think maybe we can get this guy to "heal" Ronnie
Browns foot ?????
NASCAR-- don't care
Posted by: FZB | November 23, 2009 at 04:47 PM
You need bait to catch a Tuna. Cleveland ain't got bait. Cold, miserable, McDonalds is the best restaurant in town. Bad burgers ain't gonna land a tuna.
Posted by: klndry | November 23, 2009 at 05:36 PM
I'd be really surprised to see Parcells flee Miami to go to Cleveland...like everyone elses comment. It's not about the $$ at this point with Tuna.
Losing NT Ferguson is a big blow the D. No one else on the roster is stout enough to cover this position without wearing down in the 4th QTR allowing teams to run between the tackles relentlessly. Paul Soliai has been much more then a servicable scrub to rotate in for about 10 plays a game. Soliai hasn't been able to stay healthy or consistantly competent when given the playing time.
Posted by: Jimbo | November 23, 2009 at 11:53 PM
Misprint
meant to say Soliai hasn't been much more then a servicable scrub....
Posted by: Jimbo | November 23, 2009 at 11:54 PM
like it or not Pitt has a better team then UM.
Posted by: Jimbo | November 23, 2009 at 11:55 PM
How to fix NASCAR?
Abolish it!
Posted by: ? | November 24, 2009 at 04:13 AM
Even if Parcells leaves the Dolphins are in good shape. Ireland and Sparano have done really well and have built a competive team in a short time. With the injuries the team has faced, the replacement have done great. There is depth on this team that I have never seen before. Starting QB, RB, C, NT, CB, LB's have all been injured and the team has won.

Things are falling into place for the Fish. If the Saints take care of business this week, we'll be playing the Pats for first place the following week. Gotta love that, hey naplesjack? Even if we can't get the top spot in the AFC East, we have a good shot at the wildcard. All of the current 6-4 teams (Pitt, Denver and Jacksonville) have serious issues and very tough schedules. In addition, we play Pitt and Jacksonville so we can take care of our own business.
Posted by: Tom | November 24, 2009 at 07:41 AM
Hey Tom, I agree, but can we please beat the bills first ????
Jimbo, the Tuna won't leave...He likes it down here plus his getting up there in age, he'll stay.
Posted by: FZB | November 24, 2009 at 07:55 AM
boys,
great work being done by jack del rio in jacksonville; besides MJD, they have few star-players and an unsettled QB position. a run the ball first guy, like jeff fisher, from the john robinson days at USC. is holmgren still at seattle? if so, three trojans coaching in the NFL- almost 10% of the head coaches in the league!!
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 24, 2009 at 09:25 AM
I see where nbc is useing the flex schedule and the Pats- dolphins game moves to 1:00 time. At least I dont have to listern to that do**shbag olbermann, now. Vikes + Cards take there place.
Posted by: naplesjackpatsfan | November 24, 2009 at 11:51 AM
njpf
on that we agree, olbermann is a douchebag and if he were a conservative douchebag he would not be on the air. the double standard of America ain't it grand?
Posted by: Tom | November 24, 2009 at 01:45 PM
Fix NASCAR by getting rid of the Confederate flags ...
And can the pranic healer visualize Ted Ginn catching the next 20 balls thrown his way?
Posted by: Phillip | November 24, 2009 at 10:35 PM
I sincerely hope Sporano watches the Ginn video before thinking about putting him in as a reciever. The next several games are much to important to continue the experiment.
GO RICKY
Posted by: Shark74 | November 25, 2009 at 06:04 AM
Yes the "Ted Ginn project" not to be confused with the "Alan Parsons project" must end, and that poop doggy dog video proves it....
Posted by: THE ANTI CHRIST | November 25, 2009 at 07:57 AM
Flipper72- This ginn thing is lol funny. Do you think that awful Belichick is behind this? The guy is the laughing stock of the NFL, right up there with Dumbo russell, and the browns.
Posted by: naplesjackpatsfan | November 25, 2009 at 10:19 AM
naplesjackpatsfan,
heard the old cliche "he's got a nose for the football?" our man has a nose for the sideline!! the amazing thing is that he drops passes without anyone near him; best part of the video was his returning a punt and then getting thrown back seven yards after he is met by the opposition.
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 25, 2009 at 10:37 AM
right tom.. the "double standard of america".. conservative radio and television permeates the airwaves day in and day out, yet you wanna complain about olbermann? i know the truth hurts, but it will get better for you in time. it's funny how you d-bags on the right complain about the "liberal media", when, due to the consolidation of ALL media, the papers, stations, and networks are all run by a limited number of giant corporations that are DEFINITELY not liberal. you people never cease to amaze me..
Posted by: david in los angeles | November 25, 2009 at 12:04 PM
actually, the best part of your moronic comment is the assumption that if olbermann were "a conservative d- bag he would not be on the air.." now how stupid ARE you? lol.. if beck, hannity, and every other liar on FOX can have a show, the next conservative d-bag will have no problems finding one.. palin is probably next..

Get your head out of your ass, it's been buried up there for so long that you can not even have a rational thought or make an intellegent statement. Come on man, get off of whatever you are on and attempt to be at least a little rational in your statements or keep your stupidity to you and your kind, whatever that may be.
Posted by: Fed-up | November 25, 2009 at 12:23 PM
what stupidity? the premise that no conservative "d-bag" would get on the air is what is stupid. hundreds of hours of broadcast time a day is devoted to toeing the republican party line. a few major media corporations control ALL the stations and networks.. and they ARE CONSERVATIVE CORPORATIONS. what planet are YOU living on?
Posted by: david in los angeles | November 25, 2009 at 12:32 PM
Hey David: Shut up!!
Posted by: Hillary C. | November 25, 2009 at 12:45 PM
If Tuna should decide to save other franchises like Cleveland I wonder how Bill Polian would like weather and babes in Miami?
Posted by: r. duke | November 25, 2009 at 12:46 PM
Ted Ginn and his family will be the greatest ever. Ginn just needs more time. Ginn=greatness. You heard it from me. He just needs to fail forward fast and he is doing it.

So Roth gets cut. Man, it sure looks like my way or the highway around these parts. It's either supreme effort or a change of scenery.

btw, given that my Wolverines side of the family is over for some of OC's hospitality and Thanksgiving cooking, I'll be catchin you all on the flip side.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Green Bay @ Detroit! Boy, I better keep the beers flowing...
Posted by: OC Dolphin | November 25, 2009 at 03:46 PM
david damn your dumb. Let me explain this to you like you're a 5 year old. Just like Rush got kicked off ESPN and was prevented from being an NFL owner, if Olbermann were a conservative ideologue he would not be doing the NBC Sunday nite football broadcast. Is that simple enough for you SFB?
Oh and do me and the rest of us a favor, go phuck yourself.
Have a great holiday...no not you, my friends on the blog.
Posted by: Tom | November 25, 2009 at 03:51 PM
Tom,
david is back from deutschland and is he getting a "warm" welcome!!! i am not a fan of rush limbaugh's, but if he could add something to MNF's telecasts it wouldn't bug me a bit; he is clever and certainly entertaining to many, but i can't remember him getting kicked off ESPN and the NFL, even with all their mafioso owners, didn't want to be associated with him after his comments on the eagles' QB. they pay a lot for PR and he would be bad PR for the league.
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 25, 2009 at 06:34 PM
boys,
what happened to our friend dean? long time no posts.
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 25, 2009 at 06:35 PM
hey shadow.. so nice to be back in the land of critical thought.. don't worry about tommy; like most ignorant neanderthals on the right, when presented with facts he resorts to slander, threats, and anger. that's why they never have solutions that work. they are run by fear and ignorance, and their position is being marginalized by the minute and THEY CAN'T STAND IT. if there IS a hell, its fires wait for intolerant, judgmental, and fear-mongering morons like THEM. keep supporting corporations that could give a rats a s s about you, tommy. and please DO have a great holiday. your stupidity shouldn't keep you from enjoying our unique american holiday.. happy thanksgiving TO ALL..

david in los angeles,
welcome back and a happy holiday to you. hope they were nice to you in europe. as far as our blogmates', i respect all opinions posted but certainly don't agree with all- your basic political maverick here!!
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 26, 2009 at 05:48 AM
david you have not cited a single FACT about anything. all you do is attack those who disagree with you. you have not offered a single positive comment to the blog. not one. What exactly has your moonbat philosophy done for us. Well let's see
We're still in Iraq pursuing a draw down of troops put in place BEFORE Obama took office. Unemployment has increased by almost 30% since Obama took office. Obama has tripled the national deficit in less than 10 months. For every dollar the US Govt spent this year, it borrowed 50 cents. The war in Afghanistan (a war Obama said we can't afford to lose) is been spinning out of control. The Obama economic team seems to be the gang that couldn't shoot straight. Is there anyone in America with confidence in Geithner and Summers? Well they're Obama's men. The healthcare debate seems more centered on providing the right "pork" to swing DEMOCRATIC senators than on providing a comprehensive plan that will actually help Americans. 2000+ pages? Why not a simple one or two page summary of exactly what the plan will provide and what it will cost. The CBO projects huge deficits will arise from unfunded portions of the current plan several years down stream. Are we setting ourselves up for another social security disaster? Talk of social security, where is Obama on that looming disaster? NOWHERE!
The president with the Jim Jones like support of nitwits like you has created problems of his own that have exacerbated the situation he inherited and the polls are now reflecting that.
One term david that's all America can stand. You'll get respect from others here when you start treating others with respect. But then that's not part of the DNA of moonbats is it?
Posted by: Tom | November 26, 2009 at 01:45 PM
What pro football could use is a return to the opening music of the early 1970's..the original ABC Monday Football; or ever better, NFL on NBC in 1973 where football action is mixed in with the Phins getting suited up in the locker room, to a good sounding rock tune.
As far as politics goes, Dobbs would be interesting. He presents independent points of view and I for sure, would love to see an Indepedent as Prez. I'm tired of Republicans and Democrats, especially the wingers.
Posted by: mike1 | November 26, 2009 at 05:38 PM
let's see who can name all the Phins in this video.
