[Note: Separate Collball Week 12 post featuring Saturday's 34-16 UM win over Duke, Gators-FIU and more may be found in blog post directly below this].
UM fans' overall satisfaction stands at 80.2 percent in the wake of Saturday's 34-16 victory over Duke that closed Miami's home schedule and put the Canes' season record at 8-3. That's according to the latest Canesfan Satisfaction Meter poll, breaking down to 25.3% who are "very" satisfied and 54.9% calling themselves "somewhat" satisfied. Those are the season's second-lowest numbers following a victory.
The CSM, new to the blog this season, is a continuing gauge of how UM fans are feeling about the team and season. Polls are posted following the conclusion of every Canes game. Season results appear beneath the latest poll.
The criteria for voting is your own, but I suggest fans consider the most recent game's performance, the season as a whole, the program's direction, and your overall degree of optimism -- all in the context of reasonable expectations.
Poll and comments section stay open, but results become official on midnight the day after each game; in this case midnight last night/Sunday.
Results of previous polls may be found below the latest one.

Game 1: 98.9 percent satisfaction (72.3 very, 26.6 somewhat) following 38-34 victory at FSU.

Why can't we score 21 points in the first quarter?
Posted by: J | November 21, 2009 at 09:09 PM
J
maybe 'cuz you suck
Posted by: Right said Fred | November 21, 2009 at 09:19 PM
Well J, it's because I would be able to gloat and skip taking Pepsid if we could score 21 in the first quarter. Every frigging Saturday I sit here with my stomach in knots while mentally playing both offense and defense and coaching for the Canes until the last play. I would give my right arm (I'm left handed) to breeze through a Saturday game and have my Cardiac Canes not make me crazy. I deserve a nice landslide win with no stress.

Mackey,
USF can't score but can defend reasoonably- no landslide seen there. bowl game- no landslide there either, as whoeve is the opponent (maybe USC) will have time to prepare for UM's very slow developing passing game. as bad a season as USC is having, they would be a touchdown favorite over the canes.

mike1,
as advanced here, colt mccoy will win the heisman trophy, barring a disaster against an improving and always tough aggies team in their annual match. the guy is throwing at a near 75% completion rate and should have won last year but for a defense that dropped a "sure" INT before the crabtree "play of the century. he passes and runs and is a humble guy. i don't think the voting will be close, as tebow and mark ingram split the southeast.

Just want to thank you all for supporting me while I led all of college football in INTs. I should have had plenty more yesterday against Duke but they didnt want me to break the all time INT record. They instead dropped easy INTs. I am kinda pissed they dont include fumbles. Anyone know how many fumbles I have had this year (whether we recovered them back or not)?
I am a definite Heisman contender next year. BAWHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
Delusional Canes fans.
Struggled to beat one of the worst teams in all of college football.
You guys are definitely back. BAWHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Next year is the year! BAWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What a joke!

Shadow, but look who's McCoy's opponents have been. Horrible Big 12; with horrible defense. I'm still amazed that not one vote for TCU despite all the common comparisions you can make. The latest: 45-10 over Wyoming vs Texas 41-10 over Wyoming,
Posted by: mike1 | November 22, 2009 at 04:19 PM
You all see what Chambers did? Nice catch & run; gave Chiefs win over Steelers.
The Colts luck of this year is so similar to that of the NE Pats two years ago. Every team seems to want to give them the game. Now the Ravens botched timeout and stupid punt return play. How many teams were close?..Miami, Texans, NE and Ravens.
Either the Colts or Saints will break the Phins record this year.

mike1,
i was waiting for your response concerning texas' competition. the guy is having a great year. he will do well in the big 12 championship and then in the vase game- how about auburn over alabama, florida over alabama, and texas and TCU for the crystal? be okay with me!!
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 22, 2009 at 04:42 PM
mike1,
plus he gets an audience versus the aggies, which i believe is still played on thanksgiving. he throws an accurate ball at all distances. although i generally root for a&m in this game, i want colt mccoy to win the trophy and a loss would hurt his chances, which is hooey!
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 22, 2009 at 04:46 PM
I'm not a Heisman trophy fan. Most of the time, only guys from the top rated schools are considered. It's usually QB's. And it's awarded too early. Should wait til after the bowls. How many times, does the Heisman winner lose the championship? There could be a hundred better guys out there, but they are stuck on teams without a chance. Who don't help them pile on stats or get visibility.
As for the BCS final, I'm not sold on UF this year either. I'm not sold on any two teams as being the best two.
That's why there should playoffs. Texas will get lucky break if their opponent is UF. Then if they win, it will appear to be justified despite perhaps Cinci and TCU being better. The computers like Cinci above Texas; with TCU slightly trailing.

mike1,
i agree that nowadays the hype has overtaken the award; i don't consider candidates until halfway through the season. c.j. spiller, the all purpose guy from mississippi, toby gerheart of stanford are all having tremendous seasons. agreed that being on the upper tier teams and conferences helps greatly. boise's qb is having a great year also.
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 22, 2009 at 07:07 PM
fellers,
RE: mark sanchez; you heard it here all last year and since the draft that he is a "little" slow upstairs- today was proof positive that he needed a year or two before being thrown into the fire, and that might not be enough. he is throwing more INTs than favre did for the NYJ last year, no easy feat!!
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 22, 2009 at 07:18 PM
PATS-31 JETS-14, sanchez, 8-21 136yds, 4 ints, still not enough of a beating as far as i am concearned. Made some money today, loved seeing that fat bastard squirm on sidelines. Fu*k the jets, and there loud mouth players.

naplesjackpatsfan,
another potential "game of the year" next monday night in new orleans. NO has an improved defense, and once again, a team with reggie bush as its fourth or fifth offensive weapon is loaded. the scoreboard will be lit up!!
Posted by: the shadow knows | November 22, 2009 at 07:59 PM
Shadow- I am going to savor this game for a few days, then think about the saints wednesday. Going up north for 10 days for thanksgiving tomorrow morning. Get to hear all the boston and new york sports stations. Cant wait to hear the jet fans crying all week. It should be fun to hear them cry about there franchise qb.
