its all good! Happy Thanksgiving to All!

While we are all fortunate enough to be in our warm homes or the homes of relatives preparing to feast on all that is put before us today, let’s give thanks and wish total safety to our men and women in the military who are so far from their families A great big Thank You and wishing all of them well today and everyday.

Well put John.

And here's hoping all my blog buddies and their loved ones have much to be thankful for today.

bos,

a happy holiday to all, and echoing the sentiments of N.J. John, a safe thanksgiving to our troops, and please G-d, they will all have walked off ships and planes to be re-united with their families by next thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving:

O heavenly Father:
We thank thee for food and remember the hungry.
We thank thee for health and remember the sick.
We thank thee for friends and remember the friendless.
We thank thee for freedom and remember the enslaved.
May these remembrances stir us to service
That thy gifts to us may be used for others. Amen.

thanks Nj John. My wife is halfway around the world stamping out oppression for the free world. Being apart the holidays is a small but worthy sacrifice to the great citizens of this country.

Many thanks to all fellow bloggers and their families. Thanks for your many posts, and making this a great diversion throughout the year. And thanks Greg for the many topics you put on the table.

Hope you all have a yummy tummy-full day along with your families.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our troops of course but mostly to you mugs who I blog with daily and who feel like my extended family. Thanks for being part of my life and may you all have a safe and joyful holiday. You too Kurt.

I wish each of you a happy thanksgiving. I'm especially thinking today of Jimbo's wife and NJ John's wife. Jimbo please let your wife know that each of us are grateful for the sacrifices she makes on OUR behalf. NJ John thanks for your post and we will be praying today for a speedy recovery for your wife. We will also be giving thanks later today for all of those who provide us our freedoms.

Thanks to all of you for making this blog a great place. Even you Kurt, you make all of us smile, a lot!

On a football related matter, the Detroit Lions should be banned from the league for impersonating an NFL franchise. I didn't think I'd ever say this, but I think even Cam could make these guys better.

Yes of course forgive me. Happy Thanksgiving to Cote who makes this all possible. Whatever you do don't jump ship to yahoosports.com like Jason Cole! He was great but wouldn't let me swear! That's 1/2 my vocabulary! And it's all about MEEEEEEE!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too Greg as well as all my fellow bloggers.

And here's to swimming with bowlegged women!!!!!

I thank the good Lord for many things and a new thanks today. Watching D'Antay Culpepper, thank the Lord that he ain't a Dolphin no more!!! Of course if the team needs a $8 mil man riding stationary bike... I'm your man. Promise to never bad mouth the team, just gimme the $$.

Duke, I know her too! She had long, silky brown hair that hung down from her armpits!

Happy Thanksgiving Cote and Happy Thanksgiving to all the usual suspects on this here blog. You guys are a bunch of characters but the entertainment value is priceless..!!

There are many things that I am thankful for and the list would be endless so I'll just touch on a few things.

One major concern is that I do wish the best for our country with this next Administration taking office in January.
May the Lord watch over them and guide them in their decision making to try and fix our economy. It will be a major task!

I am thankful for the many blessings that me and my family have recieved throughout the year and hope and pray to God that it continues that way for my entire lifetime and beyond. May we continue to prosper!!

I'm also thankful for the quick turnaround and progress that our beloved Miami Dolphins have made during this 2008 NFL season. I am hoping for continued success and a play-off berth.

I wish the best to all of our troops overseas and may they come home safely so that they can be reunited with their families and enjoy their civilian lives.

May all of my wishes manifest into reality and may GOD BLESS AMERICA..!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING MEN!!!! I JUST WISH YOU ALL WOULD'VE TAKEN ME SERIOUSLY ABOUT GOING AFTER RUSSIANS WHILE WE HAD THE CHANCE!!!WELL IN ANY EVENT I'LL BE BACK BEFORE THE THIRD ANTI-CHRIST AND 12/21/12 SO GET YOUR REST NOW MY LITTLE BABIES BECAUSE WHEN THE TIME COMES UNCLE GEORGE'S BOOT WILL BE GOING STRAIGHT UP YOUR WELL RESTED CANDY A**ES!!!!!!!YOURS TOO KURT!!!!

Jimbo, She claimed to be Benny Malone's sister and turned my disks and hips to dust with those muscular thighs of hers. But hey at least she got me Benny's autograph.

Turning our attention back to football,
The St.Louis Rams will get Marc Bulger, Steven Jackson and Orlando Pace. They were all injured but are expected to play against the Fins.

That is definitely going to bolster their Offensive production. WE have got to be ready to play and put that game against the Pats behind us and focus our attention on the Rams who will be coming out ready to play.

Jim Haslett knows how to win and motivate a team.

Our Defense is going to have to harrass Bulger right from the get go to set the tempo of the game. After watching the Pats game, I am sure the Rams are going to try to exploit our secondary by throwing at Jason Allen.

I sure hope that Sparano does not try to play Jason Allen one on one with Torry Holt?

We need to disguise our zone coverages and get Safety help in order to get some picks. No more man to man bull shit! We are not good enough yet to do that. Joey Porter, Matt Roth, Ferguson, Starks, Channing Crowder, Yeremiah Bell, Will Allen, Jason Allen are all going to have to have huge games and create turnovers, sacks and loss of yardage the entire game.

WE need to avoid costly penalties and contol the line of scrimmage on both sides.
I would like to see us run back a fumble recovery for a TD or and INT for a TD.
Now that would be sweet..!!

We have got to stop Steven Jackson by gang tackling him. He is a heavy load to bring down especially when he is going full speed.

Torry Holt and the rookie WR they have need to be kept in check, so we have to bump them at the line and stay with them.

We have to sack Bulger at least 5 to 6 times in this game and get in his head by putting pressure on him the whole game.

If we can play good solid, hard nosed, mistake free football on Defense, we should have a good chance of winning this game!

Our Special Teams have been horrendous this whole year and Dan Carpentar really pisses me off on kick-offs because he gives the opposing team good field position.

Last week against the Pats his poor kicks gave them good field position for the entire game. When a team has a short field to work with it definitely will make it easier for them to score. I think this is part of the reason the scored 48 on us.

Anyways, he has got to kick the ball deep and out of the end zone, in order to give our Defense an advantage right from the get go. We have got to do a better job of covering as well. We need to make sure we hurt the opposition when we hit them and try to create turnovers by stripping the ball away. If we can contain them within the 20 yard line, then that would be good enough.

The same goes for the punt coverage unit, they have got to make the guy catching the ball pay dearly evertime he tries to make a play. Gang tackling and trying to strip the ball away are highly recommended. Brandon Fields needs to boot them deep and when he gets a chance try pinning them inside the 10 yard line.

I would like to see us run a kick-off or a punt for a TD. It's been a while since we've done that. How bout it Ted Ginn?

If given the chance, I think Carpenter should be given the opportunity to boot a 50 yard plus if we are in that particular situation.

Special Teams is an area that we really need vast imporovement in.

On Offense, we need to start establishing our running game. We are reaching that time of year where the cold weather starts becoming a factor and Ricky and Ronnie will become a huge factor in determining how successful we will be in the chilly month of December. Traditionally the month of December has been horrendous for Fins going back to the Shula years. We need to erase the past by establishing a power running game starting this week against the Rams.

Jake Long, Vernon Carey and company must play with passion and intensity. They have got to dig deep and start blowing people off the line consistently. This will create the holes that Ronnie and Ricky will need to break some long runs. Patrick Cobbs must also contribute as a runner and pass catcher to throw the element of surprise in there when the other team least expects it.

Against the Rams, we have got to get Ricky and Ronnie going early on Offense. If we can establish the running game early and often, it will open up the passing game for Pennington. Ted Ginn must make some huge plays in this game along with rookie Devon Bess. Anthony Fasano and David Martin must also be incorporated in the passing game against the Rams. We have got to sustain long drives and make critical third down conversions in order to keep the chains moving. I would like to see who we use as our 3rd and 4th WRs if we use that kind of package against the Rams? Wilford and London should be the two guys but who the hell knows who the coaching staff will use?

We need to avoid turning the ball over on Offense and control the clock and time of possession. We also need to avoid penalties and play intense, physical, smash mouth football where we dominate the opposition.

If we can establish our running game and pass when needed, I think we will have a good chance of winning this game.

GO FINS..!!

These Buffalo Fans are something else..!!

This is a must read article.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -

What was the NFL thinking when it scheduled the warm-weather Miami Dolphins to play their division-rival Buffalo Bills in the cozy confines of a domed stadium in December, and in Canada of all places?

That's the question numerous unhappy Bills fans have been asking since the schedule came out with Buffalo playing a "home" game against Miami at Toronto's Rogers Centre on Dec. 7.

With that in mind, two Bills season-ticket holders, Andrew Petrinec and Al Keohane, decided to do something about shifting the climate-controlled playing field in Buffalo's favor by organizing a petition to have the domed stadium's retractable roof open for the game.

"We're just trying to make a difference," said Petrinec, who's gathered about 1,000 signatures on the Internet and in person. "We're trying to do anything we can to help out the team and make a little noise so maybe the league will recognize that fans aren't extremely thrilled with it."

Bad enough that Buffalo fans were deprived of a game in Orchard Park against an AFC East opponent when the Bills secured a five-year deal to become the first NFL team to start playing annual regular-season games outside the U.S.

What's worse is the Bills losing their traditional cold-field advantage.

The Dolphins might have the edge in the series, with a 51-37-1 record against Buffalo. But they have certainly struggled at Orchard Park after Dec. 1, going 2-7, including two playoff losses.

"Having it in a domed stadium definitely does make it a little lopsided toward the Dolphins," Keohane said. "If (Toronto) gets the December Miami game against the Bills, then they should be in the cold, too."

As novel as their proposal might be, the petition won't pry open the roof, said Adrian Montgomery, spokesman for Rogers Communications, one of the game's hosts.

One problem in the event of snow or rain is the field's lack of a proper drainage system, Montgomery said. Another factor: the roof is locked in place after baseball's Blue Jays end their season.

"I wish we could open it," Montgomery said. "But please let them know that we recognize how important this game really is. And we will do everything in our power to replicate the frenzied atmosphere at Ralph Wilson Stadium."

What can't be replicated are the occasional snowstorms and biting winds that blow in off nearby Lake Erie at this time of year.

The mere proposal to open the roof sent chills through at least Dolphins defensive end Matt Roth.

"No! Don't do that," Roth said. "I hope it's closed for the fans' sake, for all those West Palm fans. We don't want them to open the roof."

It didn't matter to Miami guard Justin Smiley, though. "I don't really care. I like cold-weather games. If they think that it would be in their favor by opening the roof in that game, I don't think it really matters."

Even Bills players are split on the topic.

"Hell no. Are we not human?" receiver Josh Reed said. "We might get an edge, but I think I can probably speak for a few players on this team that I'd rather play indoors."

Guard Langston Walker would sign the petition.

"It's part of the game. You play in winter for a reason," Walker said. "I think it would make for an exciting game. The weather always adds an element to it. It's something that both teams have to combat against."

Receiver Lee Evans was also in favor, but doubted it'll ever happen because fans are already paying a steep price to attend the game at $200 per ticket.

The high ticket prices are the Toronto organizers' attempt to recoup the $78 million they're paying the Bills to essentially lease eight games, including three preseason, through 2012. Montgomery said there are about 2,500 tickets still unsold.

Petrinec was undeterred after learning the roof won't be open.

"I don't think that we have completely lost here. We have at least started a conversation," Petrinec said. "We want them to realize that fans are not happy with the situation, and that there is something that they can do for us to make it a little more bearable."

Matt Light is a pu**y..!! You have to grab him by the hair to get some cheap shots in?
What a loser scum sucking maggot..!!
He should have been suspended!!

Light, Crowder fined $15K each by NFL but avoid suspensions
Associated Press

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Matt Light of the New England Patriots and Channing Crowder of the Miami Dolphins were fined $15,000 apiece by the NFL on Wednesday for what the league called "a verbal and physical altercation" last Sunday.

Neither will be suspended, the league said.

Light punched Crowder several times after the Miami player shoved him on a New England field goal late in Sunday's 48-28 win over the Dolphins. They also argued before being pushed apart.

"That matter is kind of a closed deal now," Light said after the decision was announced. "Obviously, I'm not happy with what my actions were and I don't think that was the way to go. But, in my mind, it's a closed deal now.

"They've made a decision on it and we're going to move forward and get ready to play a good Steelers team. I think that's where everybody's concentration should be right now and I think that's definitely where mine is at this point."

Light will be at his usual left tackle spot Sunday against Pittsburgh, which leads the AFC with 37 sacks.

"It'll be great to have Light out there and I'm happy they came up with that ruling," Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel said. "Especially as a quarterback, you love your left tackle and especially Matt Light. He's such a great player."

Light, an eight-year veteran, made the Pro Bowl the past two seasons.

Gene Washington, the NFL's director of football operations, assessed the fines after reviewing the tussle between the players.

It occurred after Light blocked Crowder, whose helmet fell off, on Stephen Gostkowski's 30-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter.

Light and Crowder pushed each other in the face before Light grabbed Crowder's dreadlocks in his left hand and hit him three times on the head with his right. Crowder broke free and ran away with a huge grin. Both received personal foul penalties and were ejected.

Bulger, Jackson and Pace set to return for St. Louis

Associated Press

ST. LOUIS -- Coach Jim Haslett knows it's no cinch he'll be back in St. Louis next season. A couple of wins might help persuade the owners to keep him.

"Obviously, you'd like to win some games so it would make ownership and the fans and everybody feel a little better about yourself," said Haslett, whose team is on a five-game losing skid. "To be honest, I told the players we need to win games but not for me and not for the coaches.

"The whole world's against you right now so why not buckle up together, play as a team?" he said Wednesday.

A rosy injury report, starting with the probable return of Steven Jackson from a thigh injury that has sidelined him for all but a half the last five games, certainly can't hurt. The Rams (2-9) are easing Jackson back, giving him less than half the snaps on Wednesday, but barring a setback the workload will be increased the rest of the practice week in preparation for Sunday's game against the Dolphins (6-5).

"Obviously, when you have one of your best players out five weeks it limits you," Haslett said. "We've still got things to do and holes to fill, but when you get a guy like Steven Jackson back it gives you hope."

Haslett also expects Marc Bulger to start against the Dolphins after shaking off a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Bears, and for tackle Orlando Pace again to protect the quarterback's blind side. Pace has made a rapid recovery after missing one game with a knee injury, and Bulger said it was 99 percent that he'd play after being cleared by team doctors earlier Wednesday.

"I don't know exactly what my grade was, but it was a passing grade," Bulger said.

Bulger was injured on a helmet-on-helmet hit while getting sacked by the Bears' Adewale Ogunleye only five plays into last week's 27-3 loss, but noted that he had ducked into the contact. He was already feeling better in the second half, shaking off blurred vision and mental difficulties, and worked out Tuesday without problems before taking a full load in practice on Wednesday.

"I was pretty foggy for about 30 minutes but I was clear enough in the second half," Bulger said. "But at that point doctors wanted to do the safe thing and I kind of agreed with them."

Bulger missed two games with a concussion last year but said that was on a hit that was much worse.

"It's funny, because I've been hit 10 times harder this year than that," Bulger said. "I think it's just the way you're hit or the position you're in."

Bulger wants to help the Rams salvage something from another lost season, so he's eager to get back on the field.

"I don't see a reason why just because the season's going bad that I shouldn't be out there," Bulger said. "Hopefully other guys realize if you're a little banged up, you should be out there.

"On a losing team you do see the injured reserve list go up higher, and it's an easy way out sometimes," he added.

Bulger said last week he wanted Haslett back, and added he spoke for several teammates. Haslett even has high-strung offensive guard Richie Incognito in his corner.

Incognito was sent to the principal's office after criticizing fans and then encouraging hecklers as he walked off the field on Sunday, cupping his hands to his ears. During an apology to the fans on Wednesday, he said it was time to ramp it up for the coach.

"We can't really have any more distractions," Incognito said. "We're trying to win some ballgames to keep Haslett, and that's where our focus needs to be."

Going into halftime with the game still up for grabs would be significant progress for the Rams, who have been outscored 123-13 before the break during the losing streak.

"We've got to take better control of the ball," Haslett said. "Somehow, by the halfway point of this game on Sunday our players have got to feel 'Hey, we've got a chance, we can win this thing.

"We've got a find a way to get this thing done."

Greg,

hope you had a great holiday and could you possibly delete the post where i thought the lions would beat the titans cause their passing offense could score more easily than the titans' rushing attack?
didn't know the lions had the worst rushing defense in the NFL and it sure showed today. could you imagine what georgia tech would gain running on detroit?

I thought Vikings lost their mystique as soon as they left Metropolitan stadium and frigid Minnesota winters. It made them soft. Just like idea of making Dolphins Stadium "climate controlled" would be ridiculous. The intensity of sun and heat helps give Miami edge. More of an edge than indoor stadium would that's for sure. However, all my yammering does not mean I'm not glad Fins get to play Buffalo game indoors.

Moss talking smack about Sparano and the Defensive game plan...!! WTF..!!

11/24/08

Did Dolphins disrespect Moss?

Monday notes By Erik Scalavino

WR Randy Moss said he was motivated to earn his three-TD performance against Miami this past weekend.

Jabar Gaffney just shook his head in awe.

Standing in front of his visiting locker at Dolphin Stadium after Sunday’s game, he was asked about fellow wideout Randy Moss’ three-touchdown day in Miami. With those three grabs, the prolific veteran moved into third-place on the NFL’s list of all-time leaders in touchdown catches, surpassing former teammate Cris Carter. Since entering the league with Minnesota in 1998, Moss has snagged 132 touchdown passes.

“He had a heck of a game,” Gaffney finally said of his teammate. “Anytime you go out there and catch three touchdowns, you're doing something right. He was just in a zone.”

Moss may have been, but the Dolphins defense wasn’t. They chose, instead, to cover Moss man-to-man with a single corner for much of the game, and it cost them, to the tune of his 125 yards receiving and three scores.

Immediately after the game, Moss was incredulous that Miami chose to cover him with one defender. In fact, he took issue with the Dolphins’ game plan against him, though he did not specify if he was taking umbrage with defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni or head coach Tony Sparano.

“I don't know why Coach disrespected me like that,” he stated, though not in an angry tone. He appeared simply to be using the term "disrespect" to explain his motivation for wanting to pile up such gaudy stats.

“ I am who I am and I love to do what I do,” he went on. “Anytime I feel disrespected, I'm gonna go out there and make it happen. I felt like they disrespected me today by playing me single-coverage. That allowed me to do what I love to do, which is get in the end zone.

“If I see single coverage man-to-man, I feel like I can beat anybody in this league. [Sunday] was just one of those days.”

His head coach, however, said Monday he wasn’t all that surprised to see Miami’s defensive strategy against Moss.

“I mean, Miami does that. That’s kind of the way they’ve played all year,” Bill Belichick noted. “They play a lot of post safety coverage, single safety … a little bit of split safety coverage, but a lot more single and high safety. They did a lot of what they’ve been doing all year. They’ve had a lot of success, they’d won four in a row, playing as good as any team in the league going into last weekend. So, they kind of did what was getting them there.”

Belichick was then asked how difficult it is for a receiver and his quarterback to spot the one-on-one coverage in this era of cloak-and-dagger defense.

“Sometimes it’s more obvious than others,” he replied. “Sometimes it’s disguised, sometimes they show you what they’re going to do. Sometimes they give you one look and roll into another.

“There wasn’t a lot of press coverage out there [in Miami],” Belichick added. “You have to confirm it every time. I don’t think you can go to the line too many times and say, ‘OK, this is what it is.’ Because as soon as you start doing that, you start guessing. And then they give you one look and roll into something else, or drop somebody underneath, and that’s where you get in trouble.”

But it was Moss who gave the Dolphins trouble, thanks in part to his and quarterback Matt Cassel’s ability to spot the man coverage together at the right times.

“When I see single coverage, most of the time, the safety's over the top. So, it looks like single-coverage, but it's really double-Moss. [Sunday], the safety stayed in the middle and our offense executed.

“I think we really came to play today,” he concluded. “Just another day at the office.”

Miami beating Rams after losing to NE is extremely important test in terms of resilence and turning corner. This holds true despite Miami is still in rebuilding process.

Moss is a classless twit.

I don't respect Moss. He may play football really well but as the old saying goes "you can't polish a turd." The smell will give him away everytime.

I'm thankful for every drop of rain that falls a flower grows.

I'm thankful for Greg Cote. I'm thankful for my scrote. I'm thankful for a nice rack. I'm thankful for my nutsack. I'm thankful women can squirt. I'm even thankful for Kurt. Raoul, that was simply beautiful.

Duke, that brought tears to my eyes. Going to print that and say aloud over Thanksgiving dinner next yr and beyond.. Your a poet amungst posiers here. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Bought gas @ $1.55 per gal in Co Spgs yesterday. 85 octaine tho.

Almost got snowed in at party yesterday. Pikes Peak foothills getting the fluffy big flakes snow. Getting the itch to hit the slopes.
It's an absolute shame to live in a rocky mountain state. I hate it so much, been here since '95.

To all my friends and associates on here, Happy Holidays!!

Jimbo, have you caught up with the previous blog? Flipper says you're getting sued.

Dave, yah, just went back and saw that. Aint that some lame butt crap. That info was taken off an AM radio broadcasting ESPN. The guy that said that is an NFL scout. I'm going to address him as IQ 72 for now on.

Dude thinks he is running something here. yeah right.

Dave, how do you like Dawgs chance vs GTech?

r.duke,

absolutely correct sir regarding minnesota after they went indoors.

Jimbo,

always a good game and iam rooting for the yellowjackets/engineeers/wramblin wreck; also want virginia to upend the gobblers and send tech to the ACC title game!

Happy Thanksgiving! Let's stop being a bunch of hypocritical maniacs and start caring more. That goes for all over the world including the United States of America. Shame on us all. I thought we've all should of learned by now.

"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

the equalizer, charity starts at home my brother.

shadow, I see Wanny's Pitt team beat WVU today by a typical Wanny score of 19-15. Man, I hope Florida takes it to the house early and often on Saban's Bama team next weekend. I cringed many times when Wanny was Fins coach. His favorite player, Ricky Williams quit on him and consequencely is the biggest contributing factor in him leaving.. JUST my opinion , don't cut and paste it.
Saban treated Miami organization and fans like tossing cigarette butt into the gutter and florishes in Bama. Go figure. He is a tremendous college head coach, that is a given. JUST my opinion there IQ 72, but love to see Wanny outshine Saban in the college ranks.

Haysaytoboot. Very well put, very good, accurate. But that is just my OPINION, no facts needed to substantiate my agreeing with U.

Dave in VA, Jimbo, Noel thankyou for appreciating my work. It's rare for me to express my true self to others. But I feel so accepted by you all. Thankyou, thankyou. Now I need a tissue.
