I'm sick to my stomach. RIP, Sean.
A message to Aloysious, Suge White and the rest of his ilk - not today, and not on this blog, OK? You want to relish in this, dance on his grave, do it somewhere else today, OK? Whether it's shtick, or whether you really do have that much hate and venom in your system, just stop for one day.

your miami style street cred just grew by leaps and bounds. your legend is bigger now than it ever would have been while you were alive. what a way to go. bleed to death out of a hole where your dick used to be!
i'll never forget the time you spit a hocker in tampa's michael pittman's face.
i'm sure others will remember you for other deeds.

Another young person lost to gun violence
At some point the wars must stop
The guns must be locked away
Young people have to value life
God bless Mr. Taylor, his family, and all those affected by these senseless acts in our country
Posted by: JC | November 27, 2007 at 09:22 AM
when is this going to stop? I'm dead with sadness and fatigue at thinking of all the young black men cut down in the full bloom of life, famous or not, rich or not. when will this community look at itself in the mirror and decide to put an end to this rampant, senseless violence?

GODSPEED #26! I have hung your UM jersey at half mast underneath my Hurricane warning flags! From all of those who watched you lay lick after lick on wideouts and return pick after pick against FSU, we will miss you Sean! Your where the grass is always green and football is played all year long now!

SOMEONE FIND DEAN AND KICK HIS ASS! Dean your a PRICK!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 09:28 AM
Hey dean look up pitman's record. I sure hope you are not defending him.
Posted by: Go Canes | November 27, 2007 at 09:28 AM
An 18month little girl has lost her father, a Mother has lost her son! Football seems so insignificant right now! I watched the dolphins suck it up last night and all i could think about was Sean, fighting for his life and eventually loosing that fight!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 09:30 AM
Too many UM players dying young. I guess they all want to stay young and play football forever. Please find his murderer along with Pata's. To his Dad....I know words cannot even express your pain! Everyone who loves the U is in pain this morning!
Posted by: canechic | November 27, 2007 at 09:31 AM
It felt like I was Punched in gut when I heard of your passing Sean, There are overcast clouds here in Washington, DC this morning. It's as if the whole area is crying and sobbing. We will miss you Oh Warrior! not just for the way you played, but for the Man you were evolving into. Our only solace is that God is you coach and will forever stand your side. Peace!

i'm not a lawyer. i wouldn't defend OR judge anyone, including sean taylor. i think the current system needs to be re-evaluated. it's not working, especially in coral gables.
Posted by: dean | November 27, 2007 at 09:39 AM
DEAN, no respectable perosn of law practice would talk the way you talked in your previous comment! Get the hell off this blog, your not hear to pay respects you bastard! Your sound like a JERKASS!

Larry Coaker was just on Mike and Mike! Best words i have ever heard him speak! Coach Coker, if you read this, Thank you for your words about Sean, it made me feel a little better on such a sad morning!

i'm sure the truth will come out in the near future regarding the murder of sean taylor. respect won't be one of the words used when the details are revealed.

Posted by: dean | November 27, 2007 at 09:50 AM
DEAN

Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 09:50 AM
Words cannot express what I feel right now. We lost JB, AB, BP, and now ST. God please let it stop. This kid had his whole life in front of him, and a brand new baby, and going to get married, and in the blink of an eye, it's gone. This could happen to ANYONE, ANYWHERE. Love your family, and friends like there will be no tomorrow. God please comfort his family, friends, and all who knew him.

I woke up this morning and heard that someone i knew and cheered for had lost the fight for his life, EXCUSE me for not going to work today and just sitting at home with my 11 month old son! Kinda put life into persepctive! PRICK!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 09:52 AM
justin,
i'm going to sit in the hot tub and wait for my nine and eleven year old to get out of school. enjoy life because it can be yanked away from you in the wink of an eye. your passion is admirable. channel it in the direction that might end this cycle of repitition.
Posted by: dean | November 27, 2007 at 09:56 AM
Hey Justin, what did Coker say about Sean?
Posted by: ColaCane | November 27, 2007 at 09:56 AM
Sean was a hell of a football player, my cousin looked up to him and I admire his passion, I feel bad for his family and Rest in peace Cane
Posted by: sim | November 27, 2007 at 10:05 AM
justin leave dean alone, it is probably Chris Rix with a fake name and Sean Taylor was his worst nightmare.
Chris show a little respect!
Posted by: canechic | November 27, 2007 at 10:10 AM
God Bless you Sean, and thank you for the wonderful memories at the "U". Now it's time to locate the worthless pile/s of crap that did this and make him/them pay. How about South Fla law enforcement rattling some cages and wrapping this case up quickly...then Sean really can rest in peace!
Dexter is in Miami right?
Posted by: Marco | November 27, 2007 at 10:14 AM
Greg, how about disabling comments for this one? This clearly isn't going to work. We're one step away from "I'm glad he died and I hope he burns in hell" and "I don't feel sorry for his babymomma or his kid because they'll be better taken care of now than she would've had she not reproduced out of wedlock with a UM thug" comments. This is the direction we're heading in here. We don't need this crap today.

ColeCane
Larry Coaker bragged about whata remarkable youngman Sean was while at Miami and what and outstanding football player Sean was and was on his way to becoming! Go to espnradio.com, Mike and Mike page should have it up on podcenter to hear later today!
Canechic, YOUR RIGHT, Chris Leave us real canes fans alone and go back to the all girls school of FSU!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 10:21 AM
Fuck you Dean!
Justin, I will fight by your side if that fucker decides to show up.
RIP Sean Taylor!! You were a gifted and amazing athlete that cannot and will never be replaced!!
Posted by: JG | November 27, 2007 at 10:21 AM
Your right mark, comments here should be only positive and unfrotunalty they are not!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 10:22 AM
Justin, what I'm saying is, save the character attacks for a different blog. Like, when we find out the truth. When we do find out the truth, I fear it won't be pretty. This probably did have something to do with his past. But to pile on in a memorial blog, why not just go to the funeral and scream "you raised a scumbag!!!" at his grieving parents? Apart from the fact that such an act would require stuff that your modern Internet Tough Guy doesn't have.
Posted by: Mark | November 27, 2007 at 10:27 AM
Thanks Justin,
I'll go to espnradio, and check out Coker's comments. I can't believe the NEGATIVITY some are posting on this site, and WHY the Herald is letting it happen. The MAN LOST HIS LIFE for Pete's sake. This should be about nothing but sympathy, and remembering Sean for what he was.
Posted by: ColaCane | November 27, 2007 at 10:30 AM
Justin do not fall prey to silly words. Lets al ljust speak well here and have faith the killer(s) will find his or her way to be judged either here or in the after-life.
Keep on keeping on!
I am glad men like Shannon and Gibbs can console their players. I know very young kids here in MD at my wfie's school are very upset as so many young people loves ST.
God bless to him and all victimes of senseless violence.
Posted by: JC | November 27, 2007 at 10:35 AM
Mark,
your comments are unwanted NOW as well! Your just as bad as dean was! Keep shit like that to your self! His friends and family do not want to hear people right now saying "Well i wonder what he did to deserve getting shot" No one deserves THAT! NO ONE! Why r u assuming that his past has somehting to do with the horrible incedent yesetrday! This is a man who's house was invasded and he tried to protect his family! No if ands or butts about it right now! Leave the assumptions for the Miami Police dept. web site! NOT THIS ONE!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 10:37 AM
Sean Taylor was 24 years old. An allamerican athlete. Most importantly he was a Son, brother, cousin, nephew, fiance and FATHER! Lets all keep that in mind when you feel like bashing this young man whose life was taken far too early by someone who today must deal with the fact that they took him away from that sweet little 18 month old baby! No baby should have to go thru life without a dad, and now she does! Live with that you jerk who shot #26, may that weigh on your soul for enternity!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 10:41 AM
I wish someone would break into dean's home and shoot HIM instead.
Posted by: RIP Sean Taylor | November 27, 2007 at 10:42 AM

Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 10:45 AM
rest in peace sean taylor. nobody leads a perfect life, but you truely were a role model. i will never forget watching you play. i am in such shock that i'll never be able to watch you lay another lick on someone. may god bless your family. Rest In Peace Sean Taylor
Posted by: jon s | November 27, 2007 at 10:47 AM
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound!
Go rest high on that Mountain Sean! Keep an eye out for your abbygirl from the heaves above, and maybe throw a good bounce the U's way every now and then!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 10:47 AM
My wife and i prayed and cheered last night when they announce during the dolphins game that Sean had made a step of progress, but then this morning when espn broke the news of his passing, i felt numb, like i did when Bryan was killed last year! Like a member of my own family had passed, when in reality Sean was and still is a member of a much bigger family, THE U FAMILY, and only we elite members of this family know what each is going thru this morning!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 10:50 AM
Stay strong Canes! Stay strong Redskins, for Sean will always be here in spirit!
Posted by: Justin | November 27, 2007 at 10:51 AM
Shocking to wake up and learn of this sad outcome. Moreover when last night doctors were guarded, but encouraged that he was showing positive signs. Sad.

The best highschool athelete i have ever witnessed. A true specimen on the football field, and on the basketball court. We'll miss you SeanTay
Posted by: ex-raider | November 27, 2007 at 11:07 AM
This is not a day about rivalries or what uniform Sean Taylor wore. As a Cowboy fan, this is a very sad day because one of the best young football players in the game is gone at only 24. We will all miss him terribly because no rivalry means anything without two great teams fighting for championships. Taylor made the Redskins a great defense, and I hope, as a football fan that the team will find some way to play in his honor so future Cowboy-Redskin games can be as memorable as Taylor was on the field.

Justin,
I'm a UM alum and grad and Sean Taylor was one of my favorite players. I am devastated by the events of the past 36 hours. However, I look at certain things that we're finding out and, y'know... Basically, I'm grieving, but applying realism to the situation as well. Hey, I hope I'm flat-out 100% wrong, but if you want to meet me on a street corner, I'll be down there in a few weeks. I'll take my beating like a man.
