Fifteen points off the bench in 25 minutes Wednesday night made for a pretty decent comeback game for Dwyane Wade following two offseason surgeries. But he couldn't lift the Heat from its early-season rottenness. Miami fell 104-95 at home to previously winless Seattle, dropping Miami to 1-7 with its first 0-4 start at home since the inaugural seasons 20 years ago.
Will a healthy Wade be enough to lift the Heat into something resembling a decent team? Or does this feel like a doomed season?
As we wait to find out, what a miserable time collectively for our Big 5 teams:
Heat showing no signs of being anywhere close to a championship contender. Dolphins infamously winless, the playoff drought continuing. Football Hurricanes mediocre again, 5-5 and likely bowl-less. Supposedly improved Panthers back to the same old stuff. And Marlins off a bad year, still with no new stadium, and now poised to trade their best player.
Question: Any good news? What do you nominate as the best thing happening down here at any level in South Florida sports?

The return of WADE!!!!
He looked good tonight.
Lets see what Beck can do. Maybe Beck to Ginn might catch on and with Satele playing, the phins finally have a good draft class.

Well I love Shaq and he helped bring us a championship but can anyone argue that Alonzo is playing better now. At least he brings some intensity on the defensive end. Shaq is a part time player at best.
Greg, if Shaq retires at the end of the year do the Heat get that cap space back?

All I can say as a whole...is the MIAMI athletes play with nooooo heart! You mean to tell me as bad as the Fins are they should be winless??? You think the Canes have less talent than GT, NCST, and UNC???? Honestly do you think even without shaq and Wade the REAL Miami Heat couldnt beat the Bobcats 1of2???? Cmon man. Im sick of the excuses, sick of spending money, sick of having to be positive minded when these teams show such lack of interest. These Canes have no heart. To blame losing the biggest game of the year AT FREAKIN HOME by 48 to NERVES??? WTF? I dont know if anyone out there feels as I do but Im sick of it. The fins need a new logo, new colors, new fight song, & new owner for that matter. Not more skyboxes & prettier toilets (for the rich might I add). I just cant take it anymore. When Riley offered Shaq $100 million for 5 more yrs I was beside myself. Now we cant trade that lump of cow crap for Grant Hill or the rights to Alan Houston. Miami is in trouble. Every team needs to be examined. Its a true reflection of what we have down here.......a total disaster!

hi shadow,
i didn't know cancer was contagious. somehow kobe transmitted the disease to the bulls w/o ever coming into contact with chicago.

Kurt your Celtics aren't winning anything this year. Had to bring it up. They'll make the playoffs ,and lose in the first round as my guess. You'll get a taste of Garnett's early playoff exits from his Minnesota days. Don't worry the Heat will bounce back I'm sure.
