Complete transcript of LeBron's response on Donald Sterling. So powerful. So raw. (Read to very last sentence)

What are your thoughts on Donald Sterling’s comments?

“If the reports are true, it’s unacceptable. It’s unacceptable in our league. It doesn’t matter if you’re white, black, Hispanic, whatever, all across the races. It’s unacceptable and as a commissioner in our league, they have to make a stand, and they have to be very aggressive with it. I don’t know what it’s going to be, but you just can’t have that in our league. We’re the model citizens of all sports around the world and because we’re the most recognizable, I mean, it figures. You see us all the time, you see our logos, you see our players, and for an owner to come out and say the things that he said, it’s very disrespectful, it’s very appalling and one of my best friends and dear friends plays on his team in Chris Paul and I haven’t had an opportunity to talk to him but I can only imagine what’s going through his head.”

How difficult would it be to play with that hanging over…

“I don’t know. I kind of waivered back and forth whether I would actually sit out. If our owner would come out and say the things that he said, I would really have to sit down with my teammates, talk to my family because at the end of the day, our family, and our teammates are way more important than that. Basketball is huge, obviously the playoffs have been unbelievable, and I hate the fact that something like this has to come out when the playoffs have been unbelievable and the game of basketball continues to grow, but there is no room for Donald Sterling in our league. There is no room for him.”

Does it make you angry?

“I’m not angry. Just disappointed more than anything. There is only 30 owners and 400-plus of us. For a player, I just think…I put my…I can only imagine if a player came out and said something of that stature what would happen to us as players. So, I believe in Adam [Silver], I believe in the NBA and they have to do something and do something very fast and quickly before this really gets out of hand. Like I said, there is no room for Donald Sterling in our league, man. There it is.”

Remember why they are supposed to be leaders, for instance to be an example of excellence and totally race unbiased delineating the new Americanism not the one from Birmingham Alabama but the wise American folk college educated like our dear President Barack Hussein Obama the new image of the true American.

I'm not sure of the reference to Birmingham... Donald is from Chicago and LA.

Nonetheless, LeBron's comments are totally in accordance with the people sentiments in the unfortunate enough mentality of Donald Sterling. Moreover,it is unacceptable behavior in our American system specifically in a respectable franchise that inspires society with diversity and equality like is the sport of the NBA.

Who cares...good win for the Heat... Need the sweep so we can get some much needed rest.

What does Obama have to do with this? Hey do realize this is a basketball blog - right ? Do you feel compelled to enter your political thoughts on random sites ? I don't recall you ever making any basketball responses here ? You can go take your political crap involving all the special interest groups, no term limits, political favors, pork, lies and all the other bullshit...and go post it in your toilet. Are going to be so politically active when you vote for the next political minority - that being a woman president in Hillary ? Or just ogle Obama in your dreams ? Real simple...politics suck - no matter who it is.

Now...Bobcats providing a perfect warm-up act so far. These other teams are beating the hell out of each other.

Ever player on every team, regardless of "colr", should boycott one playoff game. If that doesn't do the trick, carry it over to the start of next season. F*ck rich bastards who think they can insult heir audience and players, dictate the culture of the game, and keep raking in the millions!

Hey Will...that's a stupid idea. Not every owner is like Sterling nor every rich bastard. Everybody knows the guy is a dick. NBA was hoping he'd just die soon and go away. Well...guess not soon enough.

Is Al Jefferson one tough dude or what ? He had a first half sequence that was a brilliant big man tutorial. Time to close the door Heat !

If the other owners don't take a stand, that's a good idea Will. This is way more important than basketball. Hoping someone die is not the same as taking a stand.
I almost feel sorry for the racist mother ##@%##. It's hard to teach a old dog new tricks. I think he should get a PASS from every player in the NBA.

I hope they're 20 mph upside his racist brain!

When will we learn to reserve judgment until all of the facts are in...we have this one little thing in this country called "Due Process" and it applies to people like Sterling also. Now, I will say that once all of the facts are in...and it has been verified by reliable sources that he is the one on tape making those statements and not altered in any shape or form...then get rid of his ass like baseball got rid of Marge Shott. However, when the source is someone like this "girlfriend" who is being sued by the Sterling family...and that bastion of good reporting TMZ...I would hold judgment and not go and make damming statements like everyone is doing. You all may have to eat your words...will you then be big enough to do it?

He's a racist. He should not b allowed to attend games or to socially or otherwise to address the players. He should b heavily fined. His girlfriend should sue him and stop being a money hungry bitch. If she stays then she too is condoning his behavior and comments. She needs to stand up for who and wat she is.

Donald Sterling has lifted more black families out of poverty than Obama has.

@eyeballtwo, absolutely. We should make bigotry and narrow-mindedness the standard for curing social ills, because as long as you have money, you can never do wrong!

Easy Justin - I didn't excuse any bigotry or narrowmindedness at all. No language that was asserted to be Sterling's (still waiting for the National Enquire to validate the TMZ claim) is OK. It wasn't OK when Isaih Thomas said, "If Larry Bird were black, he would just be another average player". It wasn't right when Desmond Tutu sang about killing whites. It wasn't right when Larry Bird said he was offended when a team tried to guard him with a white player (although the defense of Dan Majerle and supercoolbeas comes to mind as a comparison). Charles Barkley said he hates white people. It's in his book, I read it, I'm a Barkley fan. So, no that language is offensive - like a Kanye West tirade is, but illegal, I don't know. We are supposed to have a First Amendment rights. We Americans have short memories when we want to, I mean, how else could you have Michael Irvin doing NFL commentating. Marion Barry got re-elected after being caught smoking crack. Kome Bryant is still popular after his admitted adultery.

But hey, if that is what the media wants to distract us with, so be it. We still haven't found that Malaysian plane (maybe it's NOT in the ocean), and I'm still waiting for that savings that the POTUS promised, you know, the typical American family will see a $2500 per year savings to their health insurance premiums. Ain't seen it yet, dawg, how about you?

Meanwhile, the team that lost that horrible game to the Jazz in February, looks like the strongest team in the playoffs right now. Who knew?

this just in -- Baron Davis, being so very frustrated with recent events, has decided to give back every dime that evil owner ever game him. He said something about principles being bigger than money. We'll see if Doc and CP3 fall in line.

I grew up in S.D. when they were the San Diego Clippers and all this a-hole ever did was trade any players the team had that was any good.
He has been the worst owner in the league way before any of his racist crap came out, this should be the final nail in the coffin.
They should give him a 5 year suspension and fine him all the money he pocketed from the team, which he used as a cash register instead of spending in the product.
In 5 years he should be dead but you never know with these SOBs.

I am mortified and very disappointed that anyone (especially in his position) would say things like that in 2014 and.... then have the audacity to say to his GF negative things about the "Icon" Magic Johnson into his rants, babblings, and "old beliefs" of hatred.

Charles Barkley, Magic, Michael Jordan, Shaq, Kobe, Larry Bird, Labron, etc... and soo many more, are all "Icons" to me and made his bread and butter. I am so mad I don't know what else to say. I hope he didn't say he was a Christian in the same sentence with his bigotry.

We are a Human Race, and have far more things to worry about than each other, no skin color involved. Get over it, Mr. Basketball Owner!

I'm done! I never thought a Basketball Team owner, Professional (I can't call you a scholar because..) Dear Lord help me.

Correction: It was Nelson Mandela not Desmond Tutu.

without black people there is no NBA, he must copy that

Lisa - it's the National "Basketball" Association, not the National "Black" Association. Basketball is a sport played by people all over the world, of every skin tone. And yes, even in areas that are predominately other-than-black-skinned population, people enjoy the sport. Don't be such a closed minded, race baiting, er eh, female. Copy that?

So who takes over ownership of the Clippers? Is it another creepy ass rich cracker who makes stupid comments? Is John Kerry available? If Joe Biden wasn't so important to our nation, he would be a good choice.

Or do we need to sell the team to someone who doesn't "look" like Sterling. We've got the former cocaine dealer turned POTUS best friend Jay-Z part owner of the east coast Nets. Maybe we could bookend that with another upstanding never said anything derogatory individual like Snoop Dogg to own a west coast team.

Now the face of the Knicks fan base, Spike Lee, how does he fit into this conversation, you know, being as selectively sensitive as we are to race conversations.

So the POTUS has time to reflect on this matter, because TMZ is such a reputable source, but can't/won't say anything about Kermit Gosnell, who killed many babies over 30 years, many of them not-Caucasian. Sterling killed no one. Gosnell had separate rooms for white women and black women, and treated the whites better - and we are mum on that subject? No outrage about drowning, stabbing, killing black babies? Where are your priorities Mr. President.

Just like Sterling and his gold-digging girlfriend (cue up the song, Kanye), we are a morally bankrupt society that is ridiculously selective with our outrage. Sterling is an a$$ that should have been gone long ago. The league will be better when he is gone! If only we were this outraged at the other derisive immoral $hit that is going down in this country, we would be a better country. But no, we'll sit passively while our 'leaders' manage the planned demise and weakening of our once great land. It's pathetic. And can we stop with the 'great leader' Adam Silver stuff. There was only one real choice for him to make, and he made it. Most middle school kids would have come to the same conclusion he did. By the way, where does the $2.5 million go to? The other rich white owners, or do we redistribute that to the Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and youth basketball camps? I wonder.

And the Heat keep rolling. Looking like the strongest team in the league now, right? Healthy, playing defense, yep, nice job SPO and team. Bulls - gone. Pacers - tinkering on that summer fishing trip. Spurs - trying to right the ship. OKC - oops, MVP missing FTs (can't wait for the media to crucify him as a choker, like they would Lebron)
