Among the many fine events of All-Star Saturday night was the Shooting Stars Challenge. Chris Bosh joined up with Dominique Wilkins and Swin Cash of the WNBA to win the competition.
Here's my story on Chris Bosh from Saturday's paper. How does 15-time NBA All-Star Chris Bosh sound?

Geez...realize it was just the All-Star game but Bosh looked awful. Dude we all saw it...where's your pride ?
Got my Alicia Keys fix though.

Alicia is F-I-N-E fine! What would our chances be with her, about a million to one? So your saying there's a chance?
Nick Cannon jacket looked to be about 2 sizes too small.
Usher's dancers weren't kid friendly.
Joe got some burn during David Stern's press conference. I'm probably the only one who took time to watch that, I think it was on the same time as the Duke-Maryland game (jv league)
But back to Thursday night: We again domintated another top ranked team, this time, in their house. KD can't check LBJ, hell, I don't even know if Westbrook can check RIO. Wade got some time on KD and didn't do a bad job.
Even the commentators were saying that OKC needs to adjust to the Heat lineup and go small. Hmmm, I've heard that somewhere before.
Black I was thinking about you as Ray was hitting those threes and cashing in on those technical FTs. Couldn't read his lips, but his actions said "I'm here to help this team win". I could be wrong, time will tell.
No trades needed for this squad. We have enough ammo in our clip to win it all this year. (can I use that analogy without being considered a risk to society?)
Tim Legler thinks we are stronger than last year. I don't disagree.
Does the media think we 'undercoverd' mj when he was playing the game, and that's why we get the ad nauseum mj coverage now? Please, let the man do his job (bringing down another franchise in Charlotte, like he did in DC) and let's talk about CURRENT players.

OK Greg...think you're showing some age. That wasn't Usher...it was some dude named Ne-Yo. Yeah...his dancers looked rough.
Posted by: RP | Monday, February 18, 2013 at 12:41 PM
You sure that wasn't Usher right before the Eastern Conference all-stars were introduced. I remember seeing Ne-Yo sporting his lid, but I thought that was Usher on stage as well. I could be wrong, I know I'm not that in-tune with that particular genre of pop music.

Bosh continues to get torched with his effort with mainstream media...especially since there was such a big push to even get him on the team. Then...he goes out there and plays like total crap. Weird dude.

BTW...have been wanting to track done what exactly Chalmers has been saying about himself about being a top ten NBA guard . Well...Hoopsworld for this current year does not even have him in the top 50. Hey Rio...?...may want to stop hallucinating. How's that saying go..."legend in his own mind" ?
Posted by: RP | Monday, February 18, 2013 at 07:22 PM
I think Chalmers can be a top 10 pg but we have to other great ball handler's on the team. I even think Chalmers has shown flashes that he could a below-the-rim Gilbert Arenas with how he cuts, slashes and finishes difficult plays.
Well what can be said:
1) Kobe took the all star game too serious when defending Lebron. He did stuff Lebron as usual.
2) DWade quietly outscored most of the East all stars similar to what he did when he came off the bench and was the leading scorer for the Gold Medal Team USA.
3) Wade is back.
4) I was reading how Mike Miller may be amnestied at the end of the year and I say if you amnesty someone, it should be Joel Anthony. Mike Miller still produces more rebounds than that guy.
5) Though the Heat swept them, the Thunder scares me against the Heat if they both reach the finals. So do the Spurs and Clips. The talent has caught up to the Heat, but the Heat may not have traded, but the Heat have upgraded at the shooting guard. The real DWade has kicked that imposter out and reclaimed his guard position.

2) DWade quietly outscored most of the East all stars similar to what he did when he came off the bench and was the leading scorer for the Gold Medal Team USA.
3) Wade is back. Bosh is socially awkward but we love him.

I think they should amnesty Joel ONLY IF they can find a viable trade offer with Mike Miller

Slide across the web page and read the Dan Lebatard article regarding Riles and LBJ.
If you had any doubt about the cornerstone of this franchise, or why there has been success in this organization, this article can clear it up for you.
Nicely done, Dan!

so i think PAT RILEY wont make moves to TRADE DEADLINE...
what if DALEMBERT would be bought out by BUCKS tomorrow could we acquire HIM?
i just thought that DALEMBERT could be one of the pieces likely to complete HEAT puzzle...
hoping RILEY would make a dying second move before trade deadline end... by sending a trade to BUCKS.
heat send: JA / MM / DP /+pick (sixers)
bucks: DALEMBERT / DANIELS
just sayin...
heat:
pg chalmers / cole
sg wade/ allen / jj
sf james / battier / *daniels
pf bosh / haslem / lewis
c *dalembert / birdman / varnado
pick-up: UFA KENYON MARTIN
or acquire: JERMAINE O'NEAL (to SUNS)

Typical Bosh. The self-ordained HOF'er. Did same thing last season after All-Star break taking about a month off. Not a max $$$ player...and certainly not when current deal expires. Weak mentally & physically. Noah & Co licking their chops tonight.
Posted by: RP | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 07:24 AM
What is Bosh shooting in the fourth quarter with a close game? It's an astronomical percentage. Maybe weak mentally isn't correct. And he's always been more of a finesse player (Alex English) than a power player (Karl Malone).
Yes, finally someone suggested we bring back Jermaine Oneal! We are so limited without his skill set. (bky - it's meter time)
Posted by: greggembe | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 08:29 AM
Welcome back everyone! Be nice if Joe updated the blog. Meter time? What does that mean?
Posted by: bky | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 10:48 AM
That's the sarcasm meter. No way we would ever want Jermaine Oneal back on this squad. His best days of Portland and Indiana are WAY behind him. I'll take Birdman, Joel Anthony, Dexter Pittman, Ronnie Turiaf, and today's ZO over him, every day of the week. Heck, I'ld bring PJ Brown back before JO!
Joe will get back on the blog updates after the game tonight. He's still on his All-Star break, you know, like teachers and that 2 1/2 month summer break they take annually.

^^^
add Duane Causwell to that list and Micheal Doleac!

Hope we make the deal.
Posted by: black the trucker | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11:35 AM
What deal are you talking about black?
Posted by: bky | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 12:22 PM
The deal that has cousins and Evans in it...
Posted by: black the trucker | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 01:46 PM
The what about jj hickson.
Posted by: black the trucker | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 02:22 PM
Pittman gone now, clearing the way for Jermaine Oneal.
Posted by: greggembe | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 02:30 PM
Still got time. Pat let me in we gotta trade ray..
Posted by: black the trucker | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 02:42 PM
Ray for Cousins - straigth up?
Sactown gets a future HOFer, dead-eye from the perimeter, consumate professional, and the Heat get a lazy, heavy attitude, big man that can't possibly run with our offense.
Can't miss, Pat! Do it now!
Posted by: greggembe | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 02:47 PM
So let me get this straight...We give away Pittman, and have TO GIVE away a 2nd round pick to get the rights to Center Ricky Sanchez???!!! A guy that will never play in the NBA. Meanwhile Boston trades a guy in Barbosa (who tore his ACL) and get Jordan Crawford, a nice wing player? Am I missing something??? Look, I know that were not trading Bron, Wade, Bosh or Ray, but is this a tax saving move? Or just an opportunity to sign a Kenyon Martin because of Birdman's foot injury? Whatever, go Heat.
Posted by: bky | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 03:26 PM
I'ld rather have Barbosa than Crawford.
Look, we aren't losing jack by giving away that second round pick. It's actually one less salary that, if we took the pick and signed him, we'ld have to pay. I'ld rather have a hungry savvy veteran taking that seat than a youngster.
But truthfully, I don't know what our organization is up to. Maybe they know that someone else had their eyes on Sanchez and we'll use him later in a trade to, I don't know, Denver or Utah or Portland. Maybe it is a straight salary cap move.
Either way, we know what we have and it's a lot.
Focus on our end of season run by winning tonight.
Posted by: greggembe | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 03:58 PM
Ummmm you would rather have a guy with a torn ACL??? Huh???
Posted by: bky | Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 04:50 PM
Congrats to CB on the win...
