Like you, LeBron James loves the NFL. Like you, he was beside himself over the ending of Monday night's game between the Seahawks and Packers.
"These replacement refs gotta go man!!" James wrote on Monday night. "Packers just got game took from them. I LOVE NFL football [too] much to see this type of work."
James extended the public discourse further: "I simply just LOVE the NFL [too] much to see these mistakes. I'm sick like I just played for the Packers."
Mario Chalmers' Twitter take was little more hard-line: "Yo I'm seriously bout to boycott the NFL until they bring the real refs back. Can u really call that a TD. That's not even close."
Training camp starts Saturday, thank the heavens.

Wonder if the NFL will fine him ;)

League should just about have enough money from fines to pay the real refs what they want. Then again, their greed is greedy.

We watched and listened to ESPN frame this as only an owners or league (Goodell)since the beginning. I heard no one mention one time what the referees union was demanding, so that I could make up my mind if what they were asking in this 'worst economy since the great depression' was appropriate. (Side note: I lived through the gas lines and double digit inflation of the Carter era - this economy is not worse than the late 70's).
Now that the two sides have agreed in principle to terms, does the league or owners get any credit? Probably not from our worldwide leader in sports.
Any remember, we are clamoring for the officials who screwed the Steelers over a coin flip, screwed the Raiders with tuck rule. Our love affair with them will last about 4 days.
C'mon NBA season!
